How to Draw the Full Doric Order

This is the second part of a two-part tutorial on how to draw the Mutulary Doric Order according to Vignola as an aid to a class I am TA'ing, but if you aren’t in the class and still want to learn how to draw the Doric order, feel free to stay a while! In this second video, we will be drawing the entire Doric Order: Base, Shaft (including entasis!), Capital, and Entablature. This video is much more similar to the assignment in Classical Language, so it will be more immediately applicable to most viewers from my class. Since we are drawing at a smaller scale, we won't be able to construct every moulding as we did in the first video, so it will be more about constructing the overall proportions and freehanding the details. This is meant to be used entirely for educational purposes and I am in no way trying to claim Mr. Ware's work as my own. Rather, I am trying to explain in video form what Mr. Ware expresses so eloquently in drawing, just as Mr. Ware wrote this book in order to make Vignola's original treatise more accessible.
Another note: I am just a student myself. I don't claim to be an authority on the matter of architecture. I have dedicated these past almost six years to my architectural education, and speak from a place of experience, not of wisdom. I hope that these videos can help to inspire other students like myself to take seriously the art of hand drawing rather than letting the computer take over the industry entirely.
