- Oklahoma softball coach Patty Gasso and Sooners Kinzie Hansen, Alyssa Brito and Kelly Maxwell meet the press at Media Day for the Women's College World Series on Wednesday, May 29, 2024.
As journalism and sports media continue to evolve, so will I. I’ve made a career in newspapers and radio, and now RUclips is where you’ll find my latest sports takes.

No matter where you are from, OU Softball has impacted Women's sports. Keep it pure.
Greatest class thus far ! I watch them since 2019 & absolutely incredible what this particular class have done ! Fav players #23 , 33,0, 19, 9 & ofc 24 !! Thank OU Softball ❤
Watched them since 2000 and its not close. This senior class 🐐 status
Coach Gasso is pure class and she not only has developed great softball players but has developed young girls into outstanding young women. OU has been blessed beyond measure with Coach Gasso her coaches and these young women game in and game out. As a huge Sooner fan I want to say thank you coaches and players for the excitement you have brought to this sport! 💥Boomer💥
A great representation of OU softball. Total class.
Really excited to watch OU. Classy and dangerous!
Thanks John!!
From top to bottom, the Sooners are a class act every time they step on the field or in front of the press. They have the best role model in their coach Patty Gasso. Love them and their faith in Jesus!
I love coach gasso so much.
I loved the philosophizing from Brito and Maxwell about what was so difficult for them this season, but I think Hansen had a grasp and articulated well the real reason OU struggled (if you can call it that--they still had the best record in the nation). "Living at number one" was the foundation of the stress they were under. Not just as repeat champs, but as a school who had set unprecedented records and streaks. And, was on their way to a fourth national title; never been achieved in this sport. Add to that the stress of having to shine in a new custom-built-for-them stadium, as well as the targets on their backs aimed at by opposing teams jealous and tired of being in the shadows, and you have a stress bomb waiting to detonate. And, it did. But, once they saw streaks end, once they lost that first series and the rest, especially after the loss to OSU, you could see them exhale and play free in the third game of that series. They had nothing left to lose. The tone of it reminded me of the movie, "The Guardian" where Kutcher's character was determined to break all the records and Costner's character knew nothing really great was going to happen until he did. Then, it became amazing. You could feel it in our team. They were finally practicing in the new stadium, really had nothing left to tie them to the stress, and could play free and fun; which is when they're at their best. Coach Gasso, in the post-game interview after that third game (win over OSU) talked about how free the gals played at practice before that game. It was like a weight had been lifted. And, it had. Yes, there's some stress again now that they're back in the WCWS. And, you have the usual with Texas' Mike White now lamenting that OU has an unfair advantage playing in their home state, among other teams' plaints. But this team loves playing in a hostile environment. It fires them up! So, bring it on! No idea if these ladies will achieve a new streak that will someday be broken, but they're sure going to have a lot of fun trying. And, they deserve the best experience possible. They've earned it--and, then some. BOOMER SOONER!!
I enjoyed your thoughts. There are a lot of good ones there.
It is not very relevant where the game is played. If you want continued success, then you have to continue winning. Apparently, OKC was the city that had the foresight to build an adequate facility capable of hosting the game. It may favor the sooners somewhat, that it's in Oklahoma City, but if the game were played on the moon, they would still have to go out and outscore their opponents if they wanted to keep advancing.
Y'all got this Oklahoma just swing well and pitch well
Win or loose...DAMN.....I'm gonna miss these SENIORS....NO!!!! I'm NOT CRYING!!!!!🤧🤧😭😭😭 I don't want it to end. It was bad enough when Jocelyn Alo left... I fell in love with these ladies...Not just them, but look at all the other superstars: Kiki Milloy, Maya Brady, Kalie Harding, but, I'm really going to miss my all-time favorite, TIARE Jennings & Jayda Coleman
Kiki Milloy's younger sister Tia Milloy is one of the top players in the country and has signed with Oklahoma and will be playing for the Sooners next year.
@@dariussuite1605 No way....wow, ok then I'll keep watching them then. lol
Mike White is a whiner...he should be lucky he's even gotten this far!

Patty they are Naders!
💕
With all due respect, so tired of the same team winning so much and frankly they have home field advantage
Cheers
You still have to win to get where they are. You still have to rise to the occasion and the lady Sooners always does. Anybody having a problem with that can try to beat the Sooners on the field. They welcome all comers.
Kinzie Hansen ♾️ eugenia girlfriend ever ♥️
