A viewer sold me his new Smittybilt W.A.S.P. Winch Anchor (Winch Anchor Support Platform) so I decided to test it out at South Padre Island. I'm not even sure if I did this correctly since I couldn't find any videos or proper instructions. Make sure you drop a comment and tell me what you think.

Stop stepping on it dude! It has to dig in lol
That thing beats digging a 5’ deep hole to bury your spare tire as a winch point. Great video..
Thank you! I should test out the maxx trax one day.
Robert that good idea for those guts that don’t have 4X4 and it will help thanks again for this amazing video God bless you and your family AJUA
Thank you, Juan. Hope you had a great Easter.
Yes Sir I did with my family hope you have a great Easter too
Nicw setup. Happy Easter.
Thank you! Happy Easter!
Whats up Rob! Just stopping by to check up on your channel as me and the family are heading to SPI on the 29th! Just curious if you will be around? We'll be there until the 1st of June.
Hey Phillip. That’s Memorial Day weekend so I may skip it. Still undecided though. Y’all will have a great time. If you see me, holler and drop by. Thanks for the support. 🎥
@@CoastalGX oh I definitely will give you a holler if I see you! Take care my friend and much love brother!
Standing right in the line of fire.
True! Not a good place to be in a real world situation. Maybe throw a dampener on the line.
If the angle of the anchor shaft relative to the fluke is adjusted to a to higher angle then pressure on the anchor would bury it deeper rather than keeping it shallow where it can’t really bite in.
It has three positions. I tried the two most extreme angles. Honestly, I don’t think this would work for me. Maybe in an extreme situation. Wish you would’ve been there to help me out 😅
Hey mate - Scott’s explanation is correct on the operation of the sand anchor. With softer sand you need the angle of shank to fluke to be much larger, this will force the fluke deeper in the sand quicker creating a much more sold anchor point. Also, the ring on the back of the rod coming out of the anchor should have a rope attached, this is commonly used for tripping the anchor or recovery. The pin locations you chose in the video prevented the anchor from digging deeper into the sand and in fact defeated it’s capability’s. If you like instead of selling it, we can make arrangements to run out on the beach and do some trial runs with it. It’s quite an effective tool to have, especially when the alternative is digging, more digging and praying. Recover boards are definitely first option… but like anything there’s pros and cons.
@@rigpiggy2766 you both seem to know how it’s done. Frankly, I couldn’t find any tutorials or instructions anywhere so I was flying blind. I sold the anchor to a local subscriber, but perhaps we can all get together for a proper “do over”. Reach out via Instagram if you can so we can coordinate on a date in a few weeks. I would love some redemption. 🙏🏽🎥
Mate no redemption needed… it’s all trial and error, keep making videos that’s what matters. I am not in the social media gambit but definitely up to meeting. I’ll find someone with instagram and get a message to y’all. Cheers mate!
@@rigpiggy2766 my email is coastalgx@gmail.com. Much appreciated.
Also good for plowing your garden !!!
Know of any high yielding crops? 😂😂😂
@@CoastalGX $$$ Marijuana $$$ is now legal in canada, lol !
@@DanyRivard 😂😂😂People still using that? 🫣😅
@@CoastalGX Here, the government sells the canabis and collects taxes!
...., a lot of taxes!
will it work on dry loose sand with wheels bogged ? Seen some on internet that say no.
Yes, it will. I have another video that shows it better.
it seems as if you adjusted that long end with bow shackle so that the blade anchor or more perpendicular it may catch better, but its only speculation. the fact that you got it to grab and move Sandy is awesome! great content brother.
Good observation, Tre. Yes, I had to make some adjustments. I have a snatch block so perhaps that would’ve helped also.
info on winch control
It’s just the wireless controller that comes with the 12klb Ironman winch. Works great.
ese esta bueno pa hacer sanjas pa sembrar jajaja saludos primo
La yunta de 🐂 bueyes 😂 Ya tengo dos hectáreas de maíz y 4 de sorgo. 😂
Hey Rob I think it’s good for a emergency you should keep it brother my opinion especially for emergencies
Hi, Rigo. I always have my Max Trax recovery boards. Maybe I will test that out one of these days. I already sold the anchor lol.
user error. You want that blade to be digging down at an angle, not horizontal to the ground
We tried it so many different ways.
@CoastalGX hopefully one of these days I can get down there and show you my new truck! I've also seen some people take shovels to dig a small hole to get down to a little of the more compact sand and really get that bleed deep
Rhino gear is awesome!
Yes sir!!
if my life was a youtube video this would be it lmao!!!!!
Primo!!! Lol. Pinche desastre 😂
Bury two max tracks upright side by side and put a tree saver through the outer handles. Works every time.
I’ve seen that tested. That’s why I keep two of them with me 🙌🏽
Cassie the builder 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼. Useful video, gives us many ideas👊🏼
Lol, and camera operator 🎥😂
Great content, happy to see more videos! Keep it up!- A GX 470 owner for the valley!
