NZ Govt, Pacific Island chiefs called to Tuurangawaewae in “unity”

Tuurangawaewae was flooded by people who arrived in masses to grieve and mourn Kiingi Tuheitia Pootatau Te Wherowhero VII on Wednesday. The Government and Pacific Islands chiefs arrived and symbolised the King’s call for unity, despite the Crown’s fights with Māori.
