Now see the similarities between nayeon catchy voice than jihyo power voice that makes nayeon better than her fact you cant just be a good soloist even if you have an angelic voice powervoice if you dont have a catchy voice you cant attract people to hear you out even in dance step and visuals nayeon us far catchy than jihyo . . your paragraph glazing! not just the choreo, the voice texture of jihyo would’ve work much better with all the runs in this song. the reason why i ABCD would suit jihyo better is not JUST because her techniques are better, her tone is much heavier than nayeon's, and give that "sassiness" more easily and effortlessly. i'm sure i don't need to explain here the effect a change of tonal quality and natural voice power can have on the song. also jihyo would do a better job in pre-chorus and post-chorus/bridge because of her better larynx position. even during the MV the more "fierce" and sexy parts just looked a bit weird. nayeon spent her whole career being the bright bubble-gum pop type and now, out of nowhere, she tried to pull korean beyoncé, like what? jihyo would def suit the song better, she'd also do better with the vocals... somehow, nayeon still manages to sound flat even in a song like that. nayeon akgaes will never admit, but it was always clear to me that there's a favoritism going on for nayeon, even tho jihyo is superior at literally everything.
oh about the choreo, it's pretty clear that jihyo got more groove whilst doing this dance, and extremely clean footwork. i wouldn't say nayeon does it perfectly, as nayeon herself doesn't even think so. nayeon actually talked about this in her fridge interview with sana. she said it’s the first time she’s ever done this style of choreography, and even after practicing for hours everyday by herself it wasn’t turning out the way she wanted, to the point that she wanted to cry in frustration. but acknowledging that she isn't doing it perfectly, and that it looks a little stiff here and there, isn't bad. she knows it too, and it's nice that she went for it anyway. but members like jihyo and momo just have it easier with these groovy hiphop style of dances, which was visible there.
talking about their path as a soloist, ya'll say that nayeon is more 'marketable', being that she is more popular and promoted, but marketable? if it was, zone wouldn't have sold 530k in the first week while she didn't even get a whiff of it on her two albums. despite big names dropping music around that time she sold a little more than a million and became a best selling soloist. Jype did NOT promote her album at all which is the problem. about this cb, they only had few thousands difference in sales. jihyo would have debuted top10 if the cart was weak. on NA's case, taylor, billies & other artists album are more than 1 month old on charts & only 3 new debuts. jihyo got strong competition on release day. know ur facts damn
