I started doing that a while back, and it made a big difference in my day. I like to pray the Lord's Prayer,then splash cold water in my face. Then coffee and Bible reading. This is so much better than when I started the day grouchy, disorganized, and sleeping too late. God bless you in your journey 🙏
I am just starting my Bible garden. I read a chapter, underline key scriptures, then highlight them after I read the chapter allowing ink to dry, add my favorite stickers. When adding my garden to the page I might say “Lord, I worship You, Holy is Your Name, and so on”. I am working on getting supplies for drawing and painting. I love what the stickers have done in glorifying the Word of God. It has created an excitement in me to read God’s Word. And I feel like I am worshipping God by adding pretty things to the margins telling God...I love what you are saying to me 🥰

Cat, I really needed this video today. It does get overwhelming having multiple Bibles. My go to Bible is my NASB (from Precept Ministries) because I used that for my Precept studies for so many year’s and I have so much writing in it that gives me good reference points to jump to a scripture I may need that day. For reading a Bible from cover to cover would it be best to use a Bible that is not all marked up or have quotes, prayers, etc., to loose focus on reading? I do have a hard time staying focused on anything I do because of my chronic health issues that has affected my brain with different cognitive issues. Thanks for sharing!
I think that for some people, myself included, having multiple Bibles can be overwhelming because it's almost too much choice. I have found it's easiest for me to stick with one for journaling, but when studying a particular verse, I will look up the same verse in different Bibles so that I can get more than one translation of the same scripture. Currently I'm working through the 100 days of Bible Promises Devotional and that is my sole journaling base. It's been so great to have the direction of the devotional. I don't put pressure on myself to journal additionally other than doing my scripture writing that corresponds with the day's devotional. I love the direction of my study right now! :o)

I just love this video. I have a coloring Bible that I have been reading ,coloring and trying to study in. It doesn't have a lot of study guides in it but what's there helps. You inspire me Cat. Please keep up with what you are doing. I learn so much from you. God bless you.
I just saw this video and it needs to be told to us every year what a blessing Cat you are cause I will get tired and don't want to read I need a passion for it pray for me
I am finding that a Kindle Paperwhite with a Bible downloaded into it (and they have many out now so you can have more than one version if you want) solves any problems about having an "everyday carry" sort of a bible. They are very lightweight, and no one at work needs to know that's what I'm reading on my break. Even the study bibles are less expensive this way, and you can also highlight passages and put notes on different verses.
I will pull one Bible from my shelf (usually a KJV) first thing in the morning, then one or two more after reading whatever the Spirit shows me. I haven't the room for that many Bibles at a time in my study area, so I put the ones I have read from back, pull out another Bible or devotional, and go from there. The one must have Bible is Battlefield of the Mind, and it is the one I spend the most time in, at least lately. Later in the afternoon I use my coloring journals as by then I need to relax. Finding a routine that works is vital to staying in the Word, and I do love your advice. Sometimes I have to do something a little different to stay focused. Many blessings to you and your family.
I was so excited to see another video, and what gets you excited for your study. I am taking each day as it comes, which is easier with a prayer first for the day and then for my studies. As you say, if it gets overwhelming, ask the Lord to help. We should be asking Him for everything -- his yoke is light and the Devil enjoys it when we are confused,overwhelmed with choice. I take a different devotional and Bible almost each day to work in following what you have said before - take what you need for your mood. I get overwhelmed with too many journals - one for this, one for that...in the end, I decided to have it all in a binder, with a different section for whatever I am studying, and it also has a prayer section too. So it's all together instead of in over 5 different journalling books. I love what you said about taking a verse and meditating on it during the day, then journalling about it. Also, if we are wives and mothers, the Lord understands that we have worldly concerns. Apostle Paul even says this himself. I keep having to remember that myself. I love also your advice on starting a habit...this is so important. Thanks so much sis!

Yes! I use the Thomas Nelson niv women's study Bible and it has everything I need, devotionals, teachings, charts, tables, study notes... It's very large and heavy but worth it.
Dawn Patterson we all get overwhelmed from time to time... Its up to us to pull back and see what's going on and how can I fix it... To be honest no one else can do but God. That's why I stressed it sooo much in my video here. It's not an easy road that's for sure but we are daughters of the most high and we can do anything.

Cat, I've been wondering about just reading the bible and going back after I have read the whole bible and doing the bible studies. I wonder if I'll get anything out of just reading it? You mentioned just reading it first and then doing studies.
For Bibles with the devotional, I am wondering how does the Battlefield of the Mind compare to the She Reads Truth Bible? Why would you go to one or the other? I'm enjoying working on the version I have but am starting to do some research on what might come next. I like the idea of having the devotional already in the Bible, so maybe another studying bible, and maybe an interleaved one to take notes? Part of me just wants to see what will happen when I feel the need/call to get another Bible. But thank you for the reminder that it is ok to just focus on one Bible, and to not get overwhelmed with too many Bibles and resources.
MeWho I own both the SRT & the Battlefield... I love them both of different reason. I feel there is more insight of the Battlefield one because Joyce touching on soooo many different subject. There are more devotionals plus power point's... Etc so much more. Now the SRT is such a great read I love the weekly reading plan that's guides you to other verses... As u can tell there is no comparison in my book between these two. The she reads truth does not have as much as a study Bible will.
Got it. Thank you for the information. You are right that there is really no way of comparing the two. While I like the idea of having a different Bible for different things, I think I'm going to have to keep studying and see what I need when I am ready to get another physical resource. :)

Ok great- I am a 25 year old mother and wife who is trying hard to stay connected to the word of God and find the Bible VERY HARD to understand and read. I watch all your videos and wish I could be so inspired by the bible as you are so I would like to know what bible you think would be best? Ive looked into the “everyday matters Bible for women” but I want to be sure before I just purchase something and still feel stomped. I appreciate all your videos as well. Thank you

Cat, I've been wondering about just reading the bible and going back after I have read the whole bible and doing the bible studies. I wonder if I'll get anything out of just reading it? You mentioned just reading it first and then doing studies.
You won't know till you try... Some have to read a chapter a few times before they understand what they just read.
For Bibles with the devotional, I am wondering how does the Battlefield of the Mind compare to the She Reads Truth Bible? Why would you go to one or the other? I'm enjoying working on the version I have but am starting to do some research on what might come next. I like the idea of having the devotional already in the Bible, so maybe another studying bible, and maybe an interleaved one to take notes? Part of me just wants to see what will happen when I feel the need/call to get another Bible.
But thank you for the reminder that it is ok to just focus on one Bible, and to not get overwhelmed with too many Bibles and resources.
MeWho I own both the SRT & the Battlefield... I love them both of different reason. I feel there is more insight of the Battlefield one because Joyce touching on soooo many different subject. There are more devotionals plus power point's... Etc so much more. Now the SRT is such a great read I love the weekly reading plan that's guides you to other verses... As u can tell there is no comparison in my book between these two. The she reads truth does not have as much as a study Bible will.
Got it. Thank you for the information. You are right that there is really no way of comparing the two. While I like the idea of having a different Bible for different things, I think I'm going to have to keep studying and see what I need when I am ready to get another physical resource. :)

Ok great- I am a 25 year old mother and wife who is trying hard to stay connected to the word of God and find the Bible VERY HARD to understand and read. I watch all your videos and wish I could be so inspired by the bible as you are so I would like to know what bible you think would be best? Ive looked into the “everyday matters Bible for women” but I want to be sure before I just purchase something and still feel stomped. I appreciate all your videos as well. Thank you

I get asked this ask all. And it's not only one I can answer without knowing the person and there purpose for the bible. This is whyyyy I created so many different videos here to help everyone (Beginning Learn How To Buy The Best Bible For Them) plus on top of that I have a playlist of different kinds of bibles.
What I need from you all is to understand I still have a life a job where I work 10 hours days (Thank You Jesus) a family friends and fur babies and I host a Facebook group with Thousands of women in it. So I'm always here to help and answer what I can whenever I get a chance.
