- This is a song that I have always loved. The groove is deceptively simple. There is a swing to this straight ballad groove and that little bit of swing can make or break the groove. It’s a pure pocket song, no drum fill craziness. Just simple, single open hits on the toms and cymbals. It’s truly a study in less is more playing.

Wonderful work on this one Earl. My dad loved the commadores. I met Lionel Richie and kool and the gang in Atlantic City on the beach they were playing the hotels in the 80s their family's were on beach and plotting themselves next to us!! I was 12. I'll never forget it cause we had a Hurricane that night. My mom got Lionel's autograph without asking on a napkin lol I could never find that napkin ever again. Something very strange happened at 3:04, that wasn't right.
So let’s analyze it ... could it be the original drummer did something a little out of time! Or the guitar player jumped in a hair early, or I did my best to keep a track, that I didn’t play, together with the original drum part and make it solid and through the song?
