Instructor Makami visited our karate club in Monroe, LA during the mid-1960s. Despite limited English, he was an excellent teacher and of course he was a master of Shotokan karate. We were all tremendously impressed with him. Seeing that we were star-struck, he set us at ease with his sense of humor.

Trained under most of these great Sensei’s. The skill sets will never be the same.
