I did time, with pay. I ransferred to a new prison. Most staff were fresh outta the academy. Others, such as myself weren't new. There was a pair of new staff, walking around the track. They were so close to each other that every now and then, they'd touch shoulders. Not making fun of them, I'd been there myself. Just making the point that they were nervous, not messing with any of the fellas. So, there's this one guy that kept running his mouth at the new officers every time they would walk past him. So I gave this guy the courtesy of pulling him aside in private, and asking him...not telling him (Even when people acted out, I always tried asking and not telling and if that didn't work, well......), to leave the new guys alone. The first mistake this guy made, was not realizing that I was being very courteous by pulling him aside in private, instead of barking at him in front of the fellas, as he was barking at the staff members in front of everyone. Second mistake was he told me that I better read his Central File ('rap sheet', documentation detailing why he was in prison). So I accommodated him. I got his number, told him I'd be checking out his file on my way out the gate. Sure enough, over 90 counts of child crimes, Dude was never getting out. So, next day I wait for the perfect time to approach him, plenty of people within ear shot when I call his name out. Now, I wanted to make sure the fellas within earshot knew why I was hitting this guy up.... when I said to this guy, "Hey man, you asked me to read your file yesterday, well I read it." It got their attention, and definitely got his attention, he looked like he was gonna pass out. I told him if I ever saw him messing with anyone, that I wouldn't be the only one who knew why he was there, and that I would inform the new officers as well. Never heard his mouth again. What I had learned throughout the years was that the 'real' fellas never mentioned their file to intimidate staff, they didn't have to. We knew who they were, and we made sure we had respect. Every time someone threatened you with reading their file, it was always crap like this guy. Anyhow... Never seen Prison Break, is it good? If you haven't seen "American Me", pretty damn legit for a movie.
