Marinate overnight, cover with salt and pepper or whatever seasoning you prefer. Put in an air fryer at 400° for 25 minutes. Let air fryer turn off, leave in for an additional 30 minutes without opening the door. Let rest outside of the oven for additional 5 minutes and you should be good. Medium rare with juices intact. Your steak shouldn't be gray...

@ems2824: do you marinate to make the chuck roast tender? If so what do you marinate with? Thanks!

Ok. So I did this and it's wonderful. I also did my potatoes, carrots, onions, mushrooms and jalapenos at the same time. I used an 8x8 foil cake pan, put all the veggies in it, seasoned and started them the same time as the roast put the cake pan in bottom of air fryer oven, perfect fit. Turned out perfect. Thanks for the recipes.

@@CookinWithJames I used yours for inspiration. I put the meat on the center rack and the juices dripped onto the veggies. Man without your recipe I would never have thought about doing it this way.

As Michael Symon preaches and yells on The Chew, "COOK BY TEMPERATURE, NOT BY TIME!!!!" Time given in recipes are merely estimates to aid in timing of your meal.

I just bought the Power XL Air Fryer Vortex Pro Plus 12 in 1 1700w and made this roast yesterday. I followed James procedure to the tee except I used black pepper and Famous Dave's rib rub. It turned out FANTASTIC! So tender and juicy. Now I'm ready to try his ribs and chicken. I'm kissing my Emeril Lagasse 360 goodbye, nothing I ever made in it turned out right. Thank you James, I'm with you all the way.

Jaaammmmes!! My world fell apart this morning!! My Power Air Fryer Pro started making noise and then Kaput!! I read this was a common occurance but I found out the culprit!! Some good preventive maintenance on these machines is to occasionally remove the grease screen and tighten the fan bolt,. Mine worked its way loose and wobbled and torched my motor,. I'm hoping this can save some of your veiwers my heart ache!!! The nut is counter clock wise thread,. Keep up the good work bud...

probe wire still fits my Ninja Air Fryer (not Foodi) and allows drawer to close. You need to use the roast mode on the Air Fryer in order to set 250 degrees or lower. Air Fry setting goes down to only 300.
