Marinate overnight, cover with salt and pepper or whatever seasoning you prefer. Put in an air fryer at 400° for 25 minutes. Let air fryer turn off, leave in for an additional 30 minutes without opening the door. Let rest outside of the oven for additional 5 minutes and you should be good. Medium rare with juices intact. Your steak shouldn't be gray...
Ok. So I did this and it's wonderful. I also did my potatoes, carrots, onions, mushrooms and jalapenos at the same time. I used an 8x8 foil cake pan, put all the veggies in it, seasoned and started them the same time as the roast put the cake pan in bottom of air fryer oven, perfect fit. Turned out perfect. Thanks for the recipes.
@@CookinWithJames I used yours for inspiration. I put the meat on the center rack and the juices dripped onto the veggies. Man without your recipe I would never have thought about doing it this way.
Yes Chef! I just got an air fryer and I've been using it for all of our 2 person meals, lately. Great demonstration of probes and cooking by temperature. Thank you James.
As Michael Symon preaches and yells on The Chew, "COOK BY TEMPERATURE, NOT BY TIME!!!!" Time given in recipes are merely estimates to aid in timing of your meal.
I just bought the Power XL Air Fryer Vortex Pro Plus 12 in 1 1700w and made this roast yesterday. I followed James procedure to the tee except I used black pepper and Famous Dave's rib rub. It turned out FANTASTIC! So tender and juicy. Now I'm ready to try his ribs and chicken. I'm kissing my Emeril Lagasse 360 goodbye, nothing I ever made in it turned out right. Thank you James, I'm with you all the way.
Jaaammmmes!! My world fell apart this morning!! My Power Air Fryer Pro started making noise and then Kaput!! I read this was a common occurance but I found out the culprit!! Some good preventive maintenance on these machines is to occasionally remove the grease screen and tighten the fan bolt,. Mine worked its way loose and wobbled and torched my motor,. I'm hoping this can save some of your veiwers my heart ache!!! The nut is counter clock wise thread,. Keep up the good work bud...
@@CookinWithJames No, I didn't keep the paperwork?! I emailed Tristar to see if they sell replacement parts they should respond in a couple of days, wish me luck!
Hey...... Bro o have a question. Im ABOUT to purchase one of THOSE. Meat probs. Whats is the difference between dual prob and 4 prob. I think i know but not sure. Thanks in advance.
Tried this 4 hour method vs Instant Pot dump and go 45 minute method. After enough wine, no difference. Before wine the 4 hour method low and slow is much better.
Dad gum James! That was an awesome chuck roast especially in the air fryer. Chuck roast is really a good cut of meat if you know how to cook it. Like what you did with the ink bird! I did watch this video all the way through! Sorry I haven’t been by recently. I’m trying to keep up with all my subscribers videos. I am little by little. But I still think of you my friend and your great channel! Stay safe and healthy bro! This is Dave DaBomb over n out😎✌️
Nice work James. I love that you can run a probe under the door. I did a chuck in my Ninja Foodi a while back and it also came out good but I had to keep checking it. Great video and thanks for sharing.
probe wire still fits my Ninja Air Fryer (not Foodi) and allows drawer to close. You need to use the roast mode on the Air Fryer in order to set 250 degrees or lower. Air Fry setting goes down to only 300.
Great James, tomorrow I'll be doing up a boneless chuck roast,,,,,,, showing my wifey, how "cool", these things, are! Right now, doing 4 chicken thighs!!
This is interesting...you cooked it no differnt than one might on a grill...wow! I can cook a 1.5 lb chuck roast med rare seared on both sides in 15 min in my air fryer. Not sure I can do "fall off the bone" quickly in an air fryer.
Trying this now. On keto so just spices for me. I hope I dont screw this up. Lol mine is 2 lbs so I hope I can get time right. Crossing my fingers. To hot to run my oven for 4 hours. Preparing for my carivoir keto trucking over the road. I will let you know how it comes out.
WHATTT??? Almost 5 hours? Way too long. I can't wait until supper to have my lunch! I just put the chuck roast in the broiler 10 min per side and maybe, if it is too thick, and additional 10 minutes in bake at 325F.
@@CookinWithJames awesome! I just picked up about a 4 lb chuck myself and I'm gonna try and to a poor man's prime rib with a 24 hour sous vide cook soon

25 mns? Sounds too long

@ems2824: do you marinate to make the chuck roast tender? If so what do you marinate with? Thanks!

The total cooking time in the Power Air Fryer Pro was 140 minutes. My neighbor would starve to death in that time.
@user-gu7fk6ud8g well wrap it in foil with extra broth and turn the heat up. Come on

What is that cord made out of that it does not melt when it’s in the air fryer at 250°
It’s just bakers twine
