Master plumbing and giving back to the community! I love this Guy!
I love how this video combines a plumbing project with giving back to the community It's refreshing to see such dedication to helping others
You need the Dibalo Carbide blades for the big cast iron. Dibalo makes by far the best stuff that they sell.
Mikey Pipes - were you serious when you said "replace with same"? I'd think PVC is easier to work with than the heavier piping. Thanks, you're a game-changer!
I appreciate that the homeowner's preferences were taken into account when choosing the replacement piping Communication is key in these projects
Finding a reliable and trustworthy plumber is vital, especially during emergencies I hope this video helps people in need find a reputable plumber near them
I love that this video is not just about fixing plumbing issues but also about philanthropy Great initiative!
Mikey Pipes' philanthropy efforts are truly commendable Donating to their cause is a great way to support their mission of helping those who can't afford professional plumbing services
Watching a professional plumber in action is always fascinating I can't wait to see how they tackle this plumbing emergency
Wow, it's great to see a plumber giving back to the community with free or low-cost services
Band needs to be torqued to 60 inch pounds
Mikey Pipes Philanthropy seems like a wonderful organization, glad to see the link for donations
I never realized the importance of proper plumbing until I saw this video It's definitely worth hiring a professional
I Love Cordless Tools 🔥💯🙌
It's amazing to see someone using their skills for a good cause Kudos to this local plumber!
i use them diablo carbide blades all the time !! go through like butter 🥹
It's so important to support local plumbers, they really know the specific needs of the area
LOL...
Peter... Making the trades great again.
After a hot day in attics Mikey pipes is the cure when ya get home!

I like Diablo cast iron grinder wheel for cast you should try it out. Great video everyone it the trades should strive to make the trades great again
@@PipeDoctor Ready ? Neo
On my phone your tee wye looked more like a sanitary tee and you by code can not lay them down but maybe my phone is broken but that wouldn’t pass code in the three states I plumb. I would have went with a wye and a street 45 but
Thanks for the video 😅
Great informative video as always Mike 👍
Diamond wheel for grinder like for tile works amazing for cast. Last a long time.
Safety glasses my friend, I learned that lesson the hard way.
The fan on the Sawzall blew cast iron shavings into both of my eyes, had to have them scraped clean at the emergency room, patches for 2 days.
No hub torque wrench is set at 60 inch pounds,it is a question on the florida plumbing test.
Finally,I've had great luck with Diablo AUTOMOTIVE DEMOLITION blades.
Start with grinder,finish with Sawzall.
Great video!
Come on now John, working on that main frame again?
@@PipeDoctor Ready ? Neo
Dude i wish we had people with your patience in teaching. You are rolling out the carpet for Peter. I hope that he realizes that later in life no one does that for you or it's a search to find someone to work with you with your confidence or quirks (like you are with Peter). I can only say that what i saw was amazing. I wish I had someone like you here. within a few mins you blow my mind and you havnt put gages on anything yet. Boosted all love.
@@PipeDoctor I touched the pipe doc with that one. :-p you know i had to toss a joke in there - the type we find funny.
Good video stay safe boys
Donating to Mikey Pipes Philanthropy seems like a great way to support their mission
We call a t y in the south a sanitary tee. They only go in vertical rises only. We use combination y & 1/8 bend going to horizontal drains. Looking good😀
it is a t. he was/is confused
Very nice install Mike ....That Charlotte Pipe was made at the Williston Florida Plant where my son works.
Do you think your son could make a video of that place? Would love to see some present time foundry work!
The cut-off wheel saves a great deal!
Thanks again for the videos.
😐👍🏻🍺🍺🍺🥃🥃🇺🇲
It's reassuring to know that there are plumbers near me who are skilled enough to handle any situation
This video is definitely a must-watch for anyone experiencing a plumbing emergency
some youtubers just give back to the community without asking for donations. Its called content creation. You're double dipping and also using donations to do it.
Wow, this is such a thoughtful initiative! Providing free or low-cost plumbing services to those in need is truly amazing Kudos to Mikey Pipes Philanthropy!
Good job using the safety squint while using saws all. 👍
Your cut wasn’t perfectly level. And no test tee/clean out installed on the new 4”? Against code.
Finding an emergency plumber near me just got easier, thanks for the keywords
Clean job.. I miss plumbing sometimes. I done it for 2 years after highschool just to get my feet wet in some trades but I should have stuck with it. In HVAC online schooling now. Soon hacks will be bringing me stacks
Oh Mikey, Mikey, Mikey, you have a primer run on that 4" PVC 😮. Just breaking balls. Love your channel. I learn a lot. I've been here before you hit 100,000. You keep making em and I'll keep watching em.
Love me some Mikey Pipes plumbing videos! 👍👍 Congrats on 1M views! 🏆

Peter loves Fridays! Either he's not on call this weekend, or you haven't put him on the on call rotation yet! I'll love Friday too, in about 2 weeks, when I'm off call!!!
@@PipeDoctor Lucky Peter!
@@PipeDoctor Ready ? Neo
If you had used the correct Diablo blade, it would have cut through that stack faster than the grinder.
Nice fix !
Interesting I had no idea about that pretty cool great video
Bra Gracias from Boston mass
WHy are the cast iron pipes so clean and rust free ??? They look as if they were installed a few weeks ago.
Maybe little use
Great video Mike, I just took out my entire waste castiron pipe out to my septic and replaced it with ABS. The second floor rotted completely out,. The first floor sink was sloped to the sink so 75 years of crap it was plugged solid. I know ABS is noisy I am doing some work to dampen the sound. It took me 8 recip. blade to cut out 40 feet of cast iron. That stuff sucks to cut as I found out. The pipe through the wall was starting to get some pin holes on the outside, wasn't leaking though.
You got to make sure you buy the thick metal blades with the picture of XH cast iron on the package and it eats cast for breakfast
:)
Awesome video Mike, try the zip disk first to get a nice channel for the diablo cast blade. Cuts like butter.
sweet!!! nice job.. I can do a lot of things.. but plumbing is not my strong point... alas I wish there were mikey pipes plumbing in my area!!
I'm a Plumber watching plumbers plumb after I'm done plumbing for the day
👋
Master toilet mechanic / water heater wrestler, it's plumb crazy.
It's impressive to see the level of skill and precision required to cut out and replace the old piping This plumber definitely knows their stuff
Beautiful homes out there on Long Island
Yes they are!
Great video mike but those aren’t the Diablo blades everyone likes, you have to get the thick metal carbide blades from Diablo those blades get through the cast no problem
Yeah, I knew there was a problem when it wouldn’t cut…wrong blade 👍👍 I swear by everything they make!
Lool at the mess he makes wow!
Love the humor ❤no guessing testing
MIKE..... THE BKADE YOU WANT IS THE CARBIDE TIP BLADE FOR CAST IRON, OR THE DIAMOND BLADE FROM LENOX.
Mikey been hitting the pipe 😱
Mikey IRON PIPE Tyson 🥊
@@PipeDoctor Ready ? Neo
i like the Milwaukee torch blades
9:42 you’re using a regular Diablo metal cutting blade. They also make an extreme metal blade which has more aggressive carbide teeth. That’s what you really needed for cutting that cast. Look into those I PROMISE you’re life will be the easiest it’s ever been as far as cutting cast iron. I’m talking can cut through 4 inch in 45-50 seconds
Chain block and no hub im very familiar with both high rise construction 🗽🗽
@@PipeDoctor no mikey, chain block
@@PipeDoctor Ready ? Neo
love the hat!!!
Thanks
Like when you do real plumbing 🤘
I jist used my grinder today 😊😊 i cut open a liquid line filter drier ! I wanted to see inside of it 😊
@@PipeDoctor Ready ? Neo
I love the hat on the dash. 🇺🇸
👍👍
I wish i could get help with getting a split unit for heating and cooling in east Tn in my mobile home
Mikey Mikey Mikey! You know you can’t use that 2” TY that way! DOH!
As you will learn, you can't use a sanitary tee on its back in Florida, like you did there.
Or in NYC
That’s not on its back tho
2"ty is on it's back. That branch is considered a short sweep 90.Under flood rim level vent or drain, can't use a short sweep.2" wye is correct.
Mikey the Diablo blades do work great but for cast iron use the (9" Steel Demon Carbide-Tipped Reciprocating Blades for Thick Metal Cutting) I use them on CI all the time
@@PipeDoctor Yea, you were using the wrong blade dude. I cut those hard pipe like butter.
The fella had everything set up and you guys take credit. I get it....an eastern coast accent affords all kinds of forgiveness. The folks in the midwest actually get it done without looking for social media support.
Oh yeah? Good
For you.
I Removed almost all of the 2” Galvanized Water Pipe in both Basements of an 1896 Duplex. Corrosion inside Pipe only allowed Water the Diameter of Pencil. It was Bad.
diablo blades will cut cast well if you get a blade with those big ass carbide teeth. never failed to cut out a stack with a pack of those.
I cut cast in 30 seconds all the time with Diablo blades. Make sure its the one meant for cast iron 8tpi blades. It should say thick metal on it and show a picture of a cast iron pipe
Diamond Sawzall blade cuts faster and last longer. Q. - you replaced only above the floor part, so it is still create a problems when you can't see it.
I know of youtube channels with less subscribers but have high viewer levels and they make more money but I always hit the thumbs up which helps the channel plus it lets me know I've seen the video. I love plumbing videos. Great Video
You should’ve gotten the Diablo blades with the carbide teeth. It’s a night and day difference, a lot safer you don’t have to breathe in all of that grinding disc and metal.
I agree with this comment
Get the Torch Blades by millwaukee
@@PipeDoctor Ready ? Neo
Try diamond blade (for cutting tiles and bricks) on cast iron. It works better than abrasive metal cutting wheel.
Lenox and Milwaukee carbide or nitrous blades work better on cast iron, even regular Lenox metal blades to cut metal work better than what you were using.
No they don't not even close..and the Lenox diamond is by far the worst of them all..
I have this exact issue and thought maybe this video would be encouragement to DIY it since I cant find any plumbers in my area to do it. Definitely not a DIY with my basic skills LOL
Nice vid, dont forget ur safety glasses tho😎
You can mute your phone while you record
A piece of neat work
We’ll at least this time there was no flying poo! Lol
@@PipeDoctor Ready ? neo
was that a sanitary tee on the 2” pipe? and if so, is that permitted because it’s rolled? (I thought you never use them horizontal)
@@PipeDoctor Ready ? Neo
Mike gotta use SAWZAL TORCH with NITRUS CARBIDE
Agreed. Cardinal rule of plumbing: “never put a tee on its back”. Any competent plumber
knows that. Use a longgggg sweep wye. And those DIABLO blades are pure junk. Bring
a 25 pack of LENNOX 8-10 R blades. Used them for years for cutting cast. Blade gets
dull put in a new one. Charge ‘em up to the job. Saving time is everything. Learn Mikey.
Thanks for sharing
I make a line to cut to. I prefer for my pipes to be square
Talked about Fernco not being code and then laid a tee (not a wye, it’s a tee) on its back. 100% an inspection fail
Try the carbide blades, they will cut through the cast cleaner and faster. They are not inexpensive, but they work well. Great video!
I cut a lot of cast out with the Diablo blades must be carbide and will say cast on them they also cut better if you go about half throttle faster than the grinder
@@adamkelley3622o
as good as cast iron is after removing it from a 3 story 100 year old house 3 3 story vent stacks and the basement under floor all cast iron i will never work with it again the plumbing was all bad unfortunately because you really can’t beat cast iron but the new stuff in that house now is just super nice it will never back up again 😊 ohh my back hurts just thinking about that joke of a remodel my uncle did but it came out nice beautiful old restoration
How much did this cost?
That is the only way to hit a speed bump!
He's been riding with you for a while. Sometimes trial by fire. He's ready. Time to spread his wings and get himself some Latinas chicas. Love watching your videos!!!
Am I the only one who thinks he looks like Kurt Russel?
Yes
Mike, I see the lead directly into the top of that 4". Where is the rest of the stack and how was it vented??
Doesn't look like a proper installation. Looks like someone cut and removed (or abandoned) the stack and put a toilet right on top of the wasteline with no bend.
That setup would suck the trap dry on the toilet and whatever was connected to that 2" branch.
Great channel, keep up the interesting posts.
@@PipeDoctor, no sir, not criticizing your installation, you just replaced what was there. Given what he asked for, you did an excellent job.
I'm just curious if my observations are correct in your professional opinion.
I’m interested in how to do it right, too. By the way I have a third floor toilet that’s sitting directly on a long vertical drop like the one here (I’d estimate it drops one story before turning). Old hundred year old cast iron. I don’t know if there’s a vent nearby, but I couldn’t see one when I last had the toilet off the flange.
@@j10001, the stack itself is a vertical run all the way up through the roof wear it, in and of itself, is vented. Each appliance emptying into that stack is vented, with every other appliance, to a point a certain distance above the highest appliance.
