One of the best commercials ever made. It's funny, inventive, it has a great use of music and doesn't loose track of the point of the ad, which is to promote jeans and how resistant they are.
I took my son to the movies, he was 7 years old - I was a single Dad and we were and still are, totaly bonded- All I remember was looking at him with tears of laughter rolling down my cheeks and he was doubled up and tearing with laughter himsef. A cherished and precious moment.... And we still share exactly the same sense of humour now he's grown up.
I remember as a kid running in front of the tv every time I hear the music. Who knows how these memories has stored and influenced my purchases. I'm 32 now
God this brought back memories! I remember sitting in the living room with family as an 11 year old and this ad came on for the first time, next day at school it was all anyone was talking about.
My cousin worked in a Levi's store and had given me 8 different sequential posters of this ad, like comic strip-form. I had a snall 8-door wardrobe in my room (4low/4high) and had placed them on each door, looking like a comic book from distance looooool My room was awesoooooome
I've been watching TV for....forever!! I'm telling you, this has got to be, hands down, one of the top 3 greatest commercials of all time. Only 1 commercial which comes to mind that's greater, is a spot called, "Ralph Williams car commercial." It was made in the early 70s. I'm not spoiling anything, but at one point the salesman calls his boss, "A bald headed prick." You figure it out from there.
i remember watching the making of this video when i was a kid. my god the work they put on this video was tremendous. 1 shot every second for this claymation, i was really fascinated.
I had just moved to another country when I saw this ad on the TV....still remember this ad because it was so different from the ads they made in my country of origin. Highly nostalgic
I didnt know what LEVIS is when I was young, this was really ICONIC coz of the catchy song and cartoonish design but I still didnt know it was a jeans ad until I was adult and remebr this ad lol All i know was there was a demsel in the stress and needed to be save lol
Just that fucking intro tune alone i mean damn the 90's pfff what a time ! Now 36 i miss those days a lot but will forever stay cause it will be in my heart and my soul
that's how you make a commercial, funny, awesome, watchable. nothing's ever gonna get better than the 90's and i don't need to disable my adblock to confirm, the same way i don't need to drive over to frisco to know what's in there.
THIS is just an outtake from the original music video for Mr. Bombastic by Shaggy that aired on MTV Europe in the mid 90s. Until now I was never aware that this was also an advert for Levi's.
in about 1996, some time after the ad aired I was about 15 &, a small group of us from school visited the studio at HTV Wales where this was animated. They still had part of the set & the figures on display. They also made a short claymation series 'Gogs' about cavemen - ruclips.net/video/ZuW3QDNKC7I/видео.html You can definitely see they had an in-house style from the characters & gags.
I had the honour of watching this ad on the telly back in the 90s. I remember being gobsmacked at the concept because I hadn't seen anything like it before and whenever that song started playing, everyone said instantly : That's the song of the ad on the telly ! 😂😂 Those were the days !
I remember watching this add in '95 when i was a kid....mainly came when i was watching "Star Plus" for Robotech,TMNT,Batman series[funny that was] and of course the first seasons of Star Trek and Star Trek TNG.......absolutely loved this commercial....especially loved the expression of the police officer when "levis dude" stole his motorcycle and this dude cooly... :D
@@obiwanfisher537 I spose u never felt the sheer pleasure of having jeans, that have been thrown out of window, stomped upon by walkbys, ran over by your pub-friend's semi truck and then washed hundred times over. In the end they looked totaly worn and yet they still held together and looked absolutely fabulous.
@@thamirivonjaahri6378 Trousers don't break if a car rolls over them anyways... Neither if people walk over it. The same would have been true for any chino. And to be honest: Jeans rip easier than most chinos I buy just from moving in them. Especially if Ibend down or something.
I remember seeing this ad as a kid and thinking I am going to buy Levi's Jeans when I grow up (they were only available in the bigger cities in my country at the time)
This is a picture of everything that was awesome about 90's.
This and the Flat Eric commercials.
One of the best commercials ever made.
It's funny, inventive, it has a great use of music and doesn't loose track of the point of the ad, which is to promote jeans and how resistant they are.
And almost 20 years after seeing I still remember it
One subliminal point to levi pants Commercials was that wearing Levi pants would help us get the girl. 😂
you don't leave crumbs do ya ... thats it, you said it all, one of the best ads of all time
It was after this ad that made me go out to buy my first pair of Levis! Wish they would keep making such ads!

This is the second best commercial ever made after Van Damme's Volvo commercial.
Now I have to watch the volvo one.
This brings back memories. Watched this when I was a kid, though when it was shown in my country, it was censored LOL
LOL I've seen this ad a lot in the 90s and only now did I noticed that homeless man roasting a sausage in the fire.
If this ad came out today, one can only imagine the stupid media responses to condemn it. Enough. These were funny times. A cracking good ad.
THIS TRAUMATIZING AS a Kid
OMG. I just about remember this ad.
Best commercial of '90
Remember this advert me. LMAO it's gotta be in the top 10 funniest adverts.
