Snap bro 2017 I come off the Ho Chi Minh trail Vietnam into Laos down to Don Det where I sold my bike was class man looking at same again this year all being well….
@@sibbydemshey can you tell me which border you were able to cross from Vietnam into Laos? Is it possible to cross from Northern Vietnam into Northern Laos?
I did a very similar trip from the Cambodia border to the Na Meo one. I didn't film any of my trip so thanks for filming yours. I can recognise a lot of the road, brings back memories :)
That’s what’s up! Gosh I haven’t back to my country Laos since I was 16. I’ve been thinking to go back but I’m kinda scared because I heard many bad stories.
Laos is pretty underrated...and it kinda makes sense that it's still quite unknown because of its neighbour countries. The country is big and there are only a few popular/touristy spots like Luang Prabang, Vang Vieng, and well, Vientiane? We stayed for about for months, not only travelling but also volunteering in a couple of places, seeing and experiencing the local life. I'd say that Lao people are very welcoming and friendly and humble. We loved to hang out with them and miss them all! Regarding money, we felt it wasn't as cheap as Vietnam, but since it's quite unexploited, definetely cheaper than Thailand or Cambodia. Which makes it very affordable for any kind of traveler! I don't know why I'm saying all this in a comment, if you read this far, come over our channel and see another kind of vlog from a different point of view!
Can you make a video on what kind of bike you, how much you paid, where you got the bike, mileage, service costs, cost of visas entering Laos and Vietnam for yourself and for the motorcycle, and how you got the rack for your backpack? Thanks.
Fantastic video. Definitely one of the better ones if not the best I’ve seen for this area. Bored of the empty talking you tubers who just want to party. It’s impressive because you used just one GoPro camera as far as I can tell.
I love your Video and your amazing trip. Very nice cut and beautiful relaxing feeling. When it is grey and boring in germany (almost all the time 🙂) i am watching your Video. The music is also amazing. Love it. Thanks! We have been to northern thailand doing the mae hong son by motorbike. Amazing! Next winter we will be doing Vietnam, Laos and Thailand by motorbike. Keep goin'! Thanks!
Just a mistyped I think but what’s more annoying than that is people on social media used the Laos word incorrectly like: “Laos food “ “Laos songs”, or “Laos language”, which correctly should be: Lao food, Lao songs or Lao language etc. when referring as a country we use LAOS, like: Let’s travel to Laos 🇱🇦 👍
@@metalicheadnz May I add: Laotian language - "I speak Laotian", "I'm Laotian" instead of "I'm Lao" or "I speak Lao"...It is annoying. I've never heard of something such "I'm Thaitian" or "I speak Thaitian".
Thanks mate ;) It's not allowed to cross the border at DBP with a motorbike from another province. The plate number has to be from Dien Bien province otherwise you get stuck at the border like me haha
Cool vid..I just read this comment about border at Tay Trang as I sit in a hotel in DBP..ready to cross but have rego from Hanoi area what Eva that is so I’m in for the same situation as you..they have some really backward ideas and are so inefficient..lolz got laugh Thanks for info...awesum
Hi @Valentin, great video and excellent advice what to visit. I plan to visit N. Laos and N. Vietnam in 3 weeks, with same transportation :), so this is massive help. I'll be there for 2 weeks, from 1-14th September, can you please share what time of the year you were there? I'm expecting some rain during my stay, seems your weather there was changing a lot? Thanks!
Can you comment on the border crossing between Vietnam and Laos, then Laos to Vietnam again? Did you need to pay any cross over/bike import fees? Visa on arrival or online or Laos? Same with Vietnam? Thanks!
Nice video. I've ridden motorbikes in Asia a bit but not Laos - am planning trip. What time of year was it? How was the traffic in Laos - it looks almost non-existent (which is perfect)?
Hi Val, I already did Hanoi Saigon by motorbike last year, this year I'm doing it by train but I'd like to stop around Vinh, rent a bike and do the Thakhek loop, then back to Vinh. How can I check in advance if I'll be allowed to cross the border with a rented motorbike? Thanks James
Hi ! I saw for enter Laos u crossed the na meo border & for exit u used another border in the south. Can u plz give the name of this border & did u had any trouble exit it with motorbike ? I thought that if I entered na meo border I must use the same border for exit... Thanks, nice video !
@@val_orange Thanks for your answer ! Plz, I ask again - it's not a problem to exit from other border than the one u used to enter (na meo) ? U need to inform the agency who make u the visa to Vietnam that u gonna use other border ? Sorry, but I don't want any problems when leaving Laos :)
Awesome video! I'm very tempted to do a similar loop in November. How long did it take you all together? And why did you fail to cross the border the first time?
@@thijskoerselman hey thanks! yep 35 days. Couldn't pass at Dien Bien phu border coz the motorbike has to be from DBP province. Na Meo border is the easiest and closest way from hanoi. Enjoy

It looks so fun but you can only count your life at the end of the trip, I guess. What a brave man!!!
i visited to Vientiane 2 years a go, beautiful country and friendly people
Awsome video. Motor bike tour is on my dream list but just in my home country of laos.
Awesome footage! Nice route you chose 👍🏼
Great trip, great movie and great music. I can feel your vibe! 🙂 Enjoy your forthcoming trips and life in general! 💞
I also drove from Hanoi to Vientiane on a Vietnamese registered bike. Paid $250 for the bike in Hanoi and sold it in Vientiane for $250.

Why were you unable to cross the border at Dien Bien Phu... and went to Na Meo instead?
