  • This Black History Month, we’re celebrating the diversity and individuality of Black women in the UK. We gathered real stories from real women about the assumptions they’ve faced whilst dating & shut them down.
Just like love, Black women are to be known and celebrated, not stereotyped - one size will never fits all. #MyLoveIsBlackLove 🤎

@@jimmy8445of course ppl project their insecurities onto black women but we cannot conclude that “their own don’t want them” if we know as a society that some men are more desired than others. Such statements can’t be made unless all races of men - Hispanic , Asian, Arab are perceived as Black men are. Then such a statement would have more weight because said “Indian” man has equal opportunity to get other races but chooses his own but this is not the case. Nonetheless there are millions of black couples around the world despite what some may want you to believe

I love this ad and I get the message. representation matters. There is mostly one prototype of black woman shown in the mainstream media and this affects the perception of people that are not exposed to other communities due to location, bias ect. I think this is a good way to show black women are not a monolith. Also, I’d assume Bumble has a high percentage of black women on it since statistics say so… nice ad

I get that bumble is bringing awareness to how stereotyped BW are and how much ppl project on us but at the same time if someone hasn’t taken the time to unlearn their conditioning and view a BW as an individual then you probably wouldn’t want to go near them so I’m not sure what the exact purpose of the ad is

I agree, it’s not our job to teach people how to unlearn and learn things. If you’re dating a black person, this is important to do your own research and internal work, unlearn your bias’ and social conditioning of black people.
