Came into it expecting a basic MTG/Hearthstone clone, came out impressed by the thought that went into making this merchandise an actually interesting game. Even if it does seem complex, if it can be explained in less than 6 minutes in one video then it'll probably be pretty easy to internalise when you're actually playing it.
Drawing cards if you opt to not play anything and drawing nothing if you are dumping your hand is a very interesting mechanic. I wonder if that prevents "face rush" aggro decks from becoming oppressive in the meta.
WOW just brilliant! A well thought out video, and the editing was Just sublime. Im seeing your guys tomorrow in Perth so i think after a couple of rounds it will all start to click into place, I hope! :) On a completely separate note, i cant help but notice your tags, and description in this video is slightly lacking. If you need assistance with SEO feel free to drop me a DM on twitter, im more than happy to help.
4:25 the person commentating over the video says "we can only activate an ability once per turn" however the cards shown are buff cards, when rotating a buff card during the buff phase do you have to use the "ability" or can you choose not to use the ability and still have x2 action's during the action phase.
It's basically like Magic: The Gathering, but it's in own game... I'm not surprised or anything... But I just got this game for the Switch, and it's amazing
It looks like you can only play one order at a time. Is it at all possible to play with a mixed deck or does your hero determine the order you need to play as?
You can play cross Order decks by using item cards. Item cards give you access to new Elements allowing you to field cards from entirely different Orders to your hero.
How is this game deceptively simple, it sounds like it was more rules then Yu-gi-oh, Magic the gathering and cardfight Vanguard. Can no one come up with a TCG with simple and easy rule that anyone can just pick up and play.
I love it when they over complicate card games with useless rules to make it seem like its challenging , when the truth is, it just makes it long and tedious
Don't worry, Lightseekers matches don't take long at all and the rules are easily grasped after a couple of games. On average a 2 player game takes 10-20 minutes.
It is not overly complex for turn base. I have taught the game to my 9 and 10-year-old, as well as many other kids their age and it is really easy to learn. This game also keeps a lot of deck strategy to it as well for more complexity if necessary. I have taught people who have never touched a TCG before, older people as well as young. It is fun.
When the card enters play you draw a card. The card has clunky corners so will only rotate when you use an action to activate it's defend ability which is to draw a number of cards equal to number on the corner that is rotating. As it uses an ability and doesn't rotate automatically you get to choose when you apply its ability. You can read more about the card on its wiki page: www.lightseekers.cards/wiki/Spectral_Guide
There are several stores running official events and tournaments with exclusive monthly prizes themed around organized play kits. You can find your nearest store here: www.lightseekers.cards/store-locator.html
Fear not, Lightseekers is available in loads of different stores! You can find your nearest hobby store retailer here: www.lightseekers.cards/store-locator.html or online stores here: www.lightseekers.cards/store-locator/online-stores.html. We're always looking to reach out to more and more stores so if your local store doesn't currently stock Lightseekers they can easily get set up here: www.lightseekers.cards/retailers/order-product.html or they can reach out to us to arrange a demo day!
None of the Lightseekers heroes or characters are copied from anyone. Each hero is meticulously designed to be part of the Lightseekers world. Tree people have been a staple of fantasy and mythology for many years, from the Ents in Lord of the Rings to dryads the mythological tree spirits. If you take a look at the two characters you will see that apart from having leaves both characters are very different :)
Why the fucking random ass number of cards in a deck... 36... like seriously you could have made the normal 40-60 cards... this game is also probably the only game I would say just play a better game... like i would take kaijudo/duel masters over this game any day! I'd also even take magic over it... and I'm not even that into magic... yugioh for me will always trump every other card game anyways... This game will only ever be good for one thing... to collect the cards so that one day years after this game is long forgotten about one of the 10 people playing this game and will feel nostalgic and will want to buy the cards so they can cure their nostalgic itch... which then they will be worth something
Lightseekers isn't copying anyone, we're a brand new experience that's different to what's already out there. Our game is an action RPG focused on quests, dungeons, gathering awesome new loot and unraveling the mysteries of Tantos. You play one of the Lightseekers heroes and it is their journey you experience as you take on the threat of the umbron. The Lightseekers action figures are the next level of connected play gaming. They are actual figures you can play with rather than statues and they need no portal to connect to the game as they connect directly via Bluetooth. They have two way communication with your game and will comment on your progress, help you to solve puzzles by lighting up in a range of colour and more! They can even be used as game controllers when you connect a flightpack and move them around! Each figure can equip any of the Lightseekers weapons and when they do they appear instantly in game. Each weapon levels up by itself and when given to another Lightseekers hero will retain the same levels and power! The Lightseekers card game is a brand new TCG which is great fun to play, easy to pick up but with loads of tactical options to help you become a pro with your own deck! Each card can be scanned into the game to unlock buffs, bonuses and even given you access to special dungeon areas! Each piece of Lightseekers can be enjoyed entirely on it's own but when combined together will give you a greatly enhanced experience! Lightseekers is very different to what's already out there and if you give it a try you will quickly see that it's doing something exciting and different!
Hey there! Fear not, Lightseekers is not ripping off anyone! Whilst both YuGiOh and Lightseekers are card games if you check out the video above and take a look at www.Lightseekers.Cards you will quickly see that they both different games and that Lightseekers has some awesome cards and mechanics you might enjoy like the epic combo system or tactical options available from the rotating buff system!

Great video! Thorough, yet concise and to the point. Makes learning the game a breeze.
It's great that you guys added a tutorial video....... Unlike "MAGIC THE GATHERING", but really I would love to play this game itself. 😄
Drawing cards if you opt to not play anything and drawing nothing if you are dumping your hand is a very interesting mechanic. I wonder if that prevents "face rush" aggro decks from becoming oppressive in the meta.

This game looks promising :). Is it available in Europe yet? Can't seem to find a store that sells it round here in Switzerland.

You can choose not to sorry for commenting late its been a year and you probably have lost interest in the game and forgot about it

Can you make lightseekers tcg as an app
I want that to
Pretty sure they are doing exactly that at the moment. Last I heard it will be out for PC, Android, and iOS sometime soon.

And also its like a bakugan in card form haha
Seems great! I may be checking this out in the future.

Can you add ally cards to the decks or are they only exclusive to the app? If you can add them, how many of each card would you need then?
36 cards in a 1 deck
How is this game deceptively simple, it sounds like it was more rules then Yu-gi-oh, Magic the gathering and cardfight Vanguard. Can no one come up with a TCG with simple and easy rule that anyone can just pick up and play.

lol
Yeah and most of the game is spent going "play nothing, draw 2, you... do nothing, draw 2, you.... do nothing, draw 2, you..."
After watching this, it looks overly complicated. I was thinking about getting into it with my 7 year old, but don't think so now.

How do you play the card "Spectral Guide"?

As it uses an ability and doesn't rotate automatically you get to choose when you apply its ability. You can read more about the card on its wiki page: www.lightseekers.cards/wiki/Spectral_Guide
ok thank you for the information
Looks interesting but is their like any official tournament stores or like any good prize support to playing this game???
There are several stores running official events and tournaments with exclusive monthly prizes themed around organized play kits. You can find your nearest store here: www.lightseekers.cards/store-locator.html
Q: Any chance this game would be available at other stors in the future besides "Toys "R" Us"... Because you know how there ending up *cringe sigh*

This is a great tutorial video! Nice and clear. Thanks!
It' looks quite promising. Unfortunately I don't like the mechanic how the card spin.
It can seem daunting at first but the rotating buff system can make for some incredibly strategic and exciting games.
Agreed! They add a new level of strategy, and it gets pretty tense when you see a buff with huge damage on the last corner ticking down...
Please don't let this become super meta and expensive like YGO or MTG.....please....
You must be new to CCGs. It's part of the format. Plan an LCG from fantasy flight if you dont want any bullshit
.... Of make it into a 4kids show lol
Debrief it's not an LCG it's a TCG
It is lcg.
Lcg is a living card game , not a collectable card game.
