Preorder Pimax Crystal with FREE DMAS Audio & $20 discount: pimax.com/crystal/?ref=mrtv (Affiliate) Marco has finally tried the final Pimax Crystal! What are your thoughts, are you going to preorder?
Ohh no they still have offset visual? Thats the reason i return my previous pimax headset. I hope they fix the offset issue because i hate looking through someone's prescription lense feeling. 3d effect looks little weird if offset lense issue is there. Lot of pimax owners had eye strain issue before because of that and it could damage your eyesight
@3lbios Yes, I caught that issue early on and identified the EXACT reason it plagued our earlier headsets. After the fix we shouldnt have similar issues moving forward with production units.
They are STILL working on shipping day one orders, no that's not a joke, I'm not kidding, still working on shipping day ONE orders. At that very low volume of progress I suspect my reservation from last november won't arrive until this coming November. Not sure what my interest will be by then.
Good interview! Is 144hz refresh rate coming soon? Also, dynamic foveated rendering will help FPS a ton! They should add a similar strap to their controllers as index ones so you can open your hand without the controller dropping
Poor Josh, can't get a break with controllers battery going dead on camera, lol...regardless, still a great experience it sounded like! Any news on when the Wiigig module will be ready?
Oh goodness, its always something when you are doing a live showing. Just have to take it in stride and encourage our teams to keep up the good work. The difference in performance between now and the start of our roadshow last year is huge. Now we truly are down to working out the kinks. We will provide official updates on the wigg module and other accessories as information is cleared for release.
@@WhatsupAbroad Yep, you handled it like a champ! Super excited I just got my shipping confirmation email. Per your last notice, it appears they will all ship with glass lenses at this point? Really excited to receive mine!
Oh spoke too soon! It turns out that only some units are going out with glass lenses and Eye Tracking does not work with plastic lenses. Also only some units have the superior fiber optic cable. We have now blown through the first week of June and the Crystal still has not shipped!
That's because 8kx real IPD was always 4,5 mm bigger than it was reporting and the offset was only a software adjustement. If you didn't have IPD compatible with the real IPD and proper face shape, any one below 64,5 would often end up not being able to set it up at all.
He did kinda just put it on, didn't really get the chance to adjust it much. As he said, he needs to test it way more at home, because them bringing this test unit is obviously going to have problems compared to if you have 30 mins by yourself just to set it up and check to see if everything's working. He was in the floor the whole time, so hopefully soon-ish they can get some more experience with it in a private setup.
@@pahjammer9173 This is from a user in the Discaord server.... So apparently Pimax have been shipping some the 1st batch of Crystal pre-orders with plastic instead of glass lenses to a bunch of people. It seems some people are getting glass lenses and some are getting plastic lenses. Apparently the people who have received the plastic lenses are complaining about horrible distortion profile, even when they switch to the "plastic lens" profile in the Pimax software. Supposedly Pimax will be shipping glass lenses to those who got plastic in July. Seems like a "bait and switch" scenario. Pimax was supposed to ship 2 glass lenses, one 35ppd and the other 45ppd. I guess folks are lucky to just get 1 set of glass lenses. There also seems to be complaints about the Crystal constantly disconnecting from their PCs. Seems like some folks are cancelling their pre-orders after these issues. IMHO, Pimax should have delayed the release of the Crystal instead of releasing the headset in this state.
@@mixedrealityTV OH I know and finally we can claim it's shipping because the eye tracking and auto IPD is working. It's June now. Pimax did originally claim that Lighthouse would ship at launch but OH well.
Some great stuff from China these days. DJI makes awesome drones, insta360 makes the best 360 cameras IMO, and GPD makes the smallest and most poweful handheld gaming PCs. I love supporting American made products myself, but every once in a while I like to spread the love. I hear this one company called Pimax just goes absolutely ham on their VR headset development.
@lurchilurch5507 It is a very economical design philosophy. It also reduces waste and is better for the environment than tooling out multiple designs. We pass these savings along to our consumers as cost savings. It is a small but essential part of how we do our utmost to offer our customers the best performance and specifications possible at the lowest price we can.
Its always fun for us to navigate the demonstration of new tech. It can be a little bit embarrassing when something goes amiss, but it is all part of the excruciatingly painful growth process.
@ryanchenoweth5673 That probably would be a prudent idea. We actually had one, but the 4090 in it decided to melt its power plug. So we had to make due with a different system. 😅

This representative would fall on a sword for Pimax 😂 respect for his commitment
You know when Marco gives praise it must be very good. Brutally honest and hard to impress.
Well done Marco! Just as smooth as Sebastian!

very nice, Monday I will get my crystal, very looking forward for the experience

typical Pimax management stuff... cant believe they are still unreliable on that stuff even so many years later.
glad i never bothered

Can the developers add the local dimming options accessible from headset?

Has the IPD offset been a big problem? With the 8KX, finding the IPD offset has been a nightmare.
It shouldn't be necessary with the Crystal.
That's because 8kx real IPD was always 4,5 mm bigger than it was reporting and the offset was only a software adjustement. If you didn't have IPD compatible with the real IPD and proper face shape, any one below 64,5 would often end up not being able to set it up at all.
Man love Germans tell it like it is attitude ,(to thier face) calm and honest just what we need ty marco
I would want to use this mainly for wireless PCVR. Am I correct in saying this isn't possible yet?
No it's not possible, come back a year or two.
why he is correcting headseat all the time on his head?
too big maybe, great fov but too big for me, i prefer smaller headsets because i'm not a sim guy
@@eroige I mean that strange as on the video he said that headset is very comfortable. But still correcting it all the time
Maybe because of his eyeglasses

Why is pimax shipping the headset with the inferior plastic lenses to some buyers?
The plastic lenses were beta testing units only.

Very good Interview 👍
I'm hearing some people are receiving the plastic lenses instead of glass lenses? I'm also concerned that the headset won't suit my IPD of 73.
There is somw sort of temporary measure. They confirmed that all customers will receive the glass ones.
Sehr gut 👍
Damn can’t confirm my preorder before knowing what Apple will release on Monday… but my fingers do itch indeed. Exciting times! 🤩
Im more excited about the meta quest 3. for the price, Pimax has to step up
OK now we can say the Crystal has shipped. Auto IPD and Eye tracking are in the wild. It's June now. Next up, Lighthouse.

Hmmm it’s all fake western media brain washing. Most products are from China and a majority is great quality.
I wish PIMAX all the best, but it's 2023 and I am more interested in headsets like from Big Screen.
Big screen sux
Looks like a good contender for a VR headset upgrade.
Pimax #1
What a too big Headset still.
And a lot of it is empty lol. They using the same case as for the 12k (which will have much bigger FOV) to save money.. awful design philosophy
