For a freeware aircraft, this appears to be better and has more bells and whistles than a lot of the payware aircraft out there.
The original freeware Cessna amphibian is one of the best for water handling.
As an Aussie bush pilot in the 90's I liked the C206 above the C210. Our 210s had too many things to screw up - I'm looking at you gear flipper doors. I mostly flew twins (incl. the piston Duke!) but my company had a C206 for short strips on properties. I loved it except on long hauls where the 210 and any twin would get you there faster. Good, solid, loveable aircraft. Great review - thanks.

BTW, you really have earned the stall borderline trophy with all approach at the needle just a tic above stall.... to be honest, I would have wetted my pants flying with you as a passenger .... 😂 you got the nerves of a fall guy!
Stall horn means I've got 5-10 knots before she goes and in the 206, she mushes really easily at that speed so it's pretty predictable. I try to fly with as little energy as possible when landing in the bush.

Made my first jump from one of these. Definitely going to be having a look once I get home.
Hopefully gets an update to remove the cargo doors at some point.
Very nice. I remember those FSX days where I fly 206 in many of my bush trips. Hope they come up with a version that looks like its been used and abused.
Seems like a solid freeware plane so far, but definitely needs some bushwheels! Glad there's a steam gauge option. Of course it needs some work with the sounds, glass, etc, but it's a great start. Only complaint I can see is that the propeller appears to be on backwards for the TIO-540's in these 206's. Needs some tip paint as well, would surely pull the whole livery together.

a magnificent plane! At university aircraft design course, Cessna type planes turned out to be one archetypical plane concerning stability and efficiency. Archetype sounds boring, but in fact it is pure flying fun without continuousely having a glimpse at the envelope diagrams. With Avangel presented with a warm, sympathetic and knowledgable narrative. I would really like to see who is behind the voice 😊😊😊😊

I got the 206(paid version) when it was on sale for 9$ been flying it almost everyday . Have to download this one to see how it compares.
There is no paid 206, just a 207

We tried to fly the 206 in SE Alaska but ended up needing pods for all of them

I take it Carenado has given up due to the likes of Just Flight, A2A and other high-fidelity GA developers.
Disappointing because I'd love to have their 210 and 177. If they are still alive, my guess is they're making the Models for FS '24 or just sticking to development of the current sim's Famous Flyers.
In regards to this, it just another reason I'm going to start making tbe move to PC. Hoping to have one built after Christmas.
I don’t believe they have, I suspect a lot of work for 2024

Looks nice ... not quite there yet in terms of textures and not meeting my personal threshold, but a pretty good effeort for freeware. I think you left an unintentional part in the video, with the two "Hah!"s and the silent menu dive in the middle. 20:42 😉
Some updates I've seen will entirely satisfy us both in that regard :D Also crap... yeah probably >> fak, not worth removing now.

206 didn't have a retractable version :D it was always fixed gear :D

Hey, I'm having trouble installing the 206. into Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020. Did you just drop it all in the community folder?

It’s a freeware mod, that’s sadly a downside of console gaming in general
Your stall horn is going off because your too slow, not heavy
They're far more related than you think. More Angle of attack impact because of weight at a given airspeed, thus easier to stall.
@@AvAngel I know they are related but you’re not overweight, u just let the aircraft get too slow on final. Your angle of attack was high due to being slow, u were approaching around 60kts.
I never said overweight, I just said heavy. She's going to respond differently. I'm aware of what I'm doing. 60kts light vs heavy responds very differently as does the edge of the stall.
@@AvAngel Ik you didn’t say anything about overweight, I am saying you’re not overweight for it to be a big factor in your stall speed. You were at the edge of stallling because you were flying to slow, you were actually below 60kts, not even on it. Even approaching at 60kts is too slow for the 206. She would have flown fine with that amount of weight. I am a pilot I know exactly how flying light vs heavy feel, especially on approach
@@AvAngel as long as your not overweight and within CG limits you would be fine

@@AvAngel QUALITY BEFORE QUANTITY ! I prefer less airplanes but study level ones ! My time is too valuable to waste it on crappy things !
This is study level , it was tested by real pilots, it flies by the numbers exactly, it has engine wear simulation. Don’t be a graphic snob. Also I guess developers won’t donate their VALUABLE time to give the community free aircraft with that attitude
