They look well maintained. I'm amazed at how many saws I've worked on that haven't seen much maintenance, check your clutch when you replace the rim sprocket (helps keep the chain from stretching right away) and grease the needle bearings (so it doesn't eat up the crankshaft) when you remove the cluch and they'll even longer.
All good tips to increase the longevity of your saws. The two tips I was taught when I bought my first pro saw, a Stihl 036 (1992-Made in Germany) was to let them warm up for at least a minute before giving it full throttle/load, and let it cool down for an equal amount of time after a long/extended period of cutting.
Welcome to my world Chris. In my area with a lot of the big Eucalyptus tree removals big saws with long bars. Most of the time 48" or 60" bars once in a while got to put on the 72" bar.
I keep thinking about getting a 42" bar for my 395 to go along with the 32 that it normally wears... but I keep getting my big stuff done with the 32. And you guys are right, the 395 really likes the gas.
@@billypitts6368 Bucking the big rounds with the 395 where my 32" bar is buried (40+ inch wood) I can buck off 6-8 rounds or so, and it's time to refuel. I think the fuel tank holds just over a quart. Like Chris said... she's a thirsty girl! If I'm running the 395, I can easily empty my 2 gallon saw gas jug before lunchtime. But, keep in mind, if you've ran 2 gallons of gas through a 395, you've cut a LOT of wood too. And if you're over 40, when the tank goes empty, it's time to take a break anyway. The 395 is a young man's saw... it will wear you out.

You need something much bigger to break that saw in properly .reving,it full speed on a tiny branch before rings seat.isnt good for saw. Find a 30 to 50 inch log somewhere to break it in .on.there on side road all over from other tree services
Skip tooth chains seem to work better on longer bars I think, I bought some for my 20 inch bars by mistake once and tried them; got quite a bit of vibration. Also soft or "green" wood seems to work better. Hardwood??? maybe, if you use the semi-chisel. All of this drivel is my opinion of course, others may differ in their views!!!!! Have a great chainsaw DAY fellars!!!!😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
@Wayne Tharp that's why I have a minimum of 3 chains for each saw and each bar. Change when dull and keep cutting. Sharpen in shed when its dark outside.
You can minimize your work load by dumping your logs on some rubbish rounds, running parrellel to each other, and sawing your quality logs on top. Saves rolling for the second cut. If this was my timber yard i would countersink bolt some half sawn small round timbers onto that concrete slab, to assist production and minimize fatigue..
And them after cutting for days/weeks would you unbolt to clean up? We clean up every couple days before the sawdust freezes to the cement making it crappy.
I would leave them bolted, and fabricate a simple rake attachment for the loader, to back blade saw dust. Providing your half sawn rounds are cut for clearance for under your loader, i could see how this would speed up your production, and cause less fatigue, its already a tough Job.
I don't know about most people but I can't stand having loose cut wood under and around where I'm working.I clear my work area as I go so I don't get a possibility of getting hurt while cutting.
Some guys don't like the auto tune and would rather tune to there likings. I think my 390 starts better than chris 592 but that could be because im not used to a primer bulb on the saw.
Soon the old saws will be gone. Bei g phased out as we speak. 592 is lighter than 395 heavier than 390 but has a way better power to weight ratio and ergonomics/anti vibe.

Yup, it is a very serious saw.
Great point! I agree, maybe softwood and big wood for skip tooth, everything else full!
@@InTheWoodyard Only told part of the story as there is both semi skip and full skip.
Awesome! Big is Good! Well Dun!
Yup, all wood is good wood!
Chris I have same chainsaw and bar me two poeple have dropped trees 🌳 with that saw
Yup, we have to in the past. Nice saws!
Oh and counting
okay!
Those 5 series are sure screamers and will cut, but I will always like the 3 series sound better! They just mean business...💪
All saws are good if they run and are sharp!
They all cut the same when the cain is dull too.
@bert brei You were sure cruising for minute today...and then the fun came to an abrupt halt!
@Wayne Tharp that's why I have a minimum of 3 chains for each saw and each bar. Change when dull and keep cutting. Sharpen in shed when its dark outside.
The 592 has a bark all of its own stock, with a muffler mod it howls.
Dang that 395 sure is impressive!!👍👍 GNI
Yup, it is a great saw!
kind of looked like a government job there at the end. 1 worker and 3 supervisors :-)
Ha!!!!! Yes!!!
Thats what it takes to get the camera angles.
@@lumberjaxe8910 You build it, get it perfected and record a video and put it on youtube for the world to see.
The 3 series saws are so much easier to work on. My opinion.
Yup, IF you like to work on them. I don't so I just get the 5s!
Why don’t you have those big fat logs made into slabs instead of firewood?
Mainly because I sell firewood and do not have a market for slabs.
I don't know about most people but I can't stand having loose cut wood under and around where I'm working.I clear my work area as I go so I don't get a possibility of getting hurt while cutting.
Yup, it does jump up and trip you sometimes.
The singing huskies
Yes!!!
Some guys like to spend a long time AT the BAR 🍺
Other guys like to spend time using a long BAR ☝🏼
Yes!!!!! I like it!
Slicin and dicin! 👍🏻👍🏻GNI
Yup!
395 better/bigger/faster/cheaper then 592? Why would someone buy one model over the other?
Some guys don't like the auto tune and would rather tune to there likings. I think my 390 starts better than chris 592 but that could be because im not used to a primer bulb on the saw.
Soon the old saws will be gone. Bei g phased out as we speak. 592 is lighter than 395 heavier than 390 but has a way better power to weight ratio and ergonomics/anti vibe.
Yup, true, some like to tune their saw.
They are all good saws.
They all cut, I like the auto tune, it just works.
Chop chop let’s go !
Yup!
Big bar
Yup!
Soft Maple= "Knot" Maple....LOL Funny story...A guy once brought my oldest sister a huge crap load of poplar after promising her Maple...My grandfather came down after he unloaded it and told my sister it was "knot" Maple but poplar...LOL I dont think she talked to him for a whole month! LOL
Haaa! Good one!
I have stihl guys that want to run it
Nice.
At least you don't have to bend
Not sure what you mean by that? Bend as in when you are cutting ? Yes you do if that is what you are stating?? When cutting with a big bar on a big log you have to bend to keep the bar level so the tip does not hit the ground.
🤘
Thanks for watching!!!
That 592 sure has a whiny note when u pin it on the limiter every 5 secs…
It winds up very fast, like a crotch rocket!
