I don’t *hate* smokers themselves, but it’s more about the influence that makes me a little iffy. A lot of the time, getting addicted to cigarettes isn’t fully the persons fault. Sometimes they were tricked into doing them at a young age, or saw other people doing it and got influenced by them. But the nicotine is seriously addictive and if you do it a lot and try to quit, it can actually make it worse because your body is so used to smoking and your brain can’t work without it because its become a part of you. A lot of my close family smoke and are trying so hard to quit, but their body won’t let them. People also tend to smoke because it “cures depression” (which same shtick with alcohol sometimes) but it really doesn’t. It just blocks out things from your brain and can make everything much worse. So no, I don’t hate smokers, but I really dislike the representation they have on others. Because smokers aren’t all bad people, they’re just addicted to a bad thing.
