Sindhi community came here among other places, as refugees from Sindh state from erstwhile Pakistan, where they were a wealthy community, and were settled here. Having come here and leaving behind all properties and wealth they rolled up their sleeves and did any work to get by. Being an enterprising community, they soon started small businesses which over time became very big businesses. There are many rags to riches stories among Sindhis. Without boring you I can say with certainty and all Indians will agree, Sindhis have adjusted in whichever state they settled in and made a name for themselves in that state. They are now one of the wealthiest communities in Indian and the world. Off-hand, the Hinduja's of UK come to mind. Apart from them, some of the most famous in the world are Chanrai's if Hong Kong, Kimatrai's of Hong Kong, Chotarmal's of Dubai, Jumbo Electronics of Dubai, etc. There are too many. To find a really poor Sindhi is a rare occurrence.
