Let me tell you that you´re really brave. You rated Steve´s app as an ordinary app, and you didn´t receive so much criticism from Steve´s fans. By the way, thank you so much for this video, there were so many apps that i didn´t know
Hello Veronika, I saw one video that you mentioned the tv shows for improving english accent. Can you please link it below in comment section? I can't find it, there is lot of videos in your channel :)
Actually using those weird sentences in Duolingo is a strategy to help you remember them. The point is not to use that exact sentence, but it helps you remember the meanings of the words so you can construct your own sentences
I used to hate duolingo cause the sentence is sometimes didn't make sense or not so common, but, lately i come back to duolingo for grasping the language in the beginning phase! I use duolingo with textbook and phrase book in the same time. it's useful if you make it useful.
Duolingo changed a lot too over time. I don't like all the changes, but overall, I like it! Sentences are a bit weird sometimes... but as you get more and more advanced, they start building more and more complex sentences... I think this can work. Of course you have to put in the effort though which I don't right now.
Veronika, thank you very much for the review!🥹 Our team is truly delighted to see how passionately you describe our learning system and the app in general! Thank you soooo much💜
You meant "comprehensive" at @00:48 meaning 'complete," "comprehensible" means understandable as in "comprehensible input..." probably why you mixed it up. I admire what you've built and your skill in English is excellent!
I feel like (well for me personally) I would at least need one game-like app to help me learn a new language. Sometimes you want to forget you are learning or studying and just feel like you are relaxing-like when you are on the train or commuting in general.
Yup. I also know this is her opinion, but it doesn't seem she gave Duo any decent amount of time, like, if you haven't gotten a sentence you deem useful, then that just means you haven't been using it for long enough. I do know how to say "I work as a RUclipsr" or "I like reading" in Welsh exclusively through Duolingo.
I think it would have been a good idea if you put the name of each application that you show here because one cannot easily identify the name of the application to search for it in the applications application to download it you could Show the name next time on the screen or just write it in the description of the video as a list where you put all the applications you talk about, it is very difficult to search for them if we do not know how to write them
Thank You a lot Veronika for this mind-opening video. I like the way You approach things and it's very good that You underline that it's only Your opinion. All in all, all the apps are explained with interesting insights. So once again thanks a lot for this material :)

it's not how it works for me. as for me, i use app base on my skills and target language. i use doulingo for language of total zero level, just to get familiarize with grammar structure and i complement it with some youtube video. when i get a drill on its basic grammar syntax, its now so much easier to understand any sentence and go forward . next, i use a conversational type app along with some review features at the end. at that time, I'll be an entermediate. after that, it now independs but most of the time, i go straight a head to youtube. watching peppa pigs, super book etc. believe it or not, i learn bahasa Indonesia in less than a month with native fluency. most people could learn and speak any language but they lack in accent its the result of their learning process. this is what happened to most polyglot in youtube showing off but quite frankly they sound funny. respectively.

But most people are hearing American from America. Their films have bigger audiences, people do more business with them. It's natural that apps should use the American symbol for the language to draw in customers.
Very grateful for this video. I'm a posh Englishman and going to take up Chinese. I agree with the loathing of game type language apps. Major distraction and a tad immature
I found, for me anyway, that you are covering so much that it's hard to drill down. It would be easier if it was split into a couple videos so you could actually show examples of how the app works. In the end I felt I could try Anki or Pimsleur and call it a day. I guess I was hoping for more detail. Thanks for all your efforts. Your English sounds native and comfortable. Congratulations.
I used one at a time, but I actually don't recommend using an App, but learning by watching a course, and then practicing what you've learned! Hope this is somewhat helpful!

Definitely your way of learning languages is by listening since you don't like to memorize words and dramatically see the structure of the word. For me, that is something that I do use, but I really like to see templates, solve sentence exercises, order words, but something that I really like. is that you show me the explanation of how the word is pronounced. Maybe you could use the international phonetic alphabet to do it. For me, that is easier to understand and well, the truth is that I am not a person who likes to listen to learn English because as Spanish speaker, for me it is difficult to understand a language which is written differently from how it is pronounced and it is very difficult to identify the correct sounds that must be pronounced in order to say the word. So if they do not show me the word or they do not show me the international phonetic alphabet for me it is very difficult to try to repeat it to pronounce it if in English it were as easy as Spanish in which everything was according to How to write Maybe I would like the applications in which they only show you pure audio and Well The truth is, for me, my taste in applications is completely the opposite of how you learn. I don't know if Russian is so closely related to English that it is so easy to understand the words when you hear them, but I am very sure of one thing: Spanish has no relationship with English And trying to understand the words without being shown grammatically How to write it and how to pronounce it is very difficult to understand So for me my tastes in applications are totally the opposite of your table in my table it is inverted for me I like applications that show you the words better

apps are first and foremost a business, with the help of them you will never learn a foreign language. Only reading books, listening to audio and speaking will give results. Therefore, my top is 1. Books 2. RUclips. This is all.
I disagree. I'm the author of Qlango and I created it because none of the existing apps satisfied me. I was using Qlango's predecessor to learn Russian and French and I'm now fluent in both of them. But, using only the app is never enough. In my opinion Qlango helps you with vocabulary and most common phrases and if you read (better comics than books) or watch serials (better than movies) or read articles or chat with people online (maybe even with chat gpt) in addition it helps a lot. It helps you connect everything. Maybe we earn less money than duolingo which is made only to make money and make you addictive to it but not to really trach you, but our app is really effective and we still want to do a lot of cool things to become the beet. 😎
If you really want to learn a language don't use apps. They are not effective at all. Most of the influencers are making this kind of content just for views.
Does anyone have any recommendations for people who grew up speaking a language but had no formal school training (reading and grammar) I find it hard to stick with programs like duolingo because the vocabulary and phrases are so basic that I just get bored.
I haven't started yet my friend, probably after June this year. I'll start with Portuguese first and then Chinese after a couple of years. I've been looking into Russian fundamentals recently.
