“It was a track made in the pandemic and I felt a real pull to use the vocal from Ring O’Roses, the original pandemic song from the Middle Ages. It made me feel a connection with all those who suffered before without the help of our modern technology. The music reflects the modern world while The Mediaeval Baebes vocals take us back to the times it has happened before, an old song becomes relevant again." Paul Hartnoll, Orbital
I was going to say this seems like an acceptance of their older 90s sound, not trying to be too modern but a return to what they once were. Im hoping we get another epic classic like out there somewhere part 1 & 2 from them soon :)
@@aikighost True words. I love those tracks, like a story, a musical telling. Specially the melody that starts when part II starts.. Such great composing going on.
Wow wow love this . Discovering Orbital at 13 yrs old changed my life. Always thought I'd somehow grow out of it . Now 42 & I know that's never going to happen .
Heard them for the first time when I was a mere three years old, playing WipEout.. Not that I could understand what the heck I was listening to, but they stuck with me, now I'm 27 and still hooked :)
So proud that the first music video I produced was for you guys - we had such a blast and loved working with you! Can you all guess who Paul Hartnoll is in the vid?
I thought he was the bunny but at the end seeing the 2 black "plague masks" (sorry I don't know how to call it, but those were the masks wore during the plague by the doctors/carers?), it would seem logical Paul and Phil are those characters. But now, since you only mention Paul maybe that means Phil is not in so maybe back to the bunny ;-)
Dude. If this is an official Orbital channel... I've been a fan since 1994... Since the Mortal Kombat album when I bought every import album available at the record store. This was the best Orbital record to date yo. My hat is off to the Hartnoll brothers. I love ya's beyond what I can say here. I miss Loopz.
I hope that on February 17th 2023, I grab the 💿 and sit in the car, and I'm transmogrified back to the early 90s, with the Hartnoll Bros taking me on a Aural journey of discovery and delight
I’ll tell you what, these two brothers never cease to amaze my endorphins. Love how you took this and adapted to todays time except not so much death to stink the air for a pocket of flowers. Maybe the next go round, round two dehumanizing
I know this is a "serious" song but I have to say Orbitals music has always brought me happiness... I await every new release with great anticipation and like a kid on Christmas who just opened their "big" present I feel that same joy I did then with every new song they release. It would be an understatement to say that Orbital's music has lifted me up on more than one occasion when I have been down and I want them to know that what they do really does mean something to so many people and you are appreciated!!!
One thing I truly love about Orbital is how they always stay true to their original sound! Emotionally charged electronic music at its best! Much love! ^^
This made me nostalgic for some reason. We need this sound back!! Love it! Please work with the mediaeval baebes again. You create such hauntingly hypnotising music 🎶 💜✨️
You Hartnolls. Your bodies might've gotten older, but your brains and your music...they don't appear to age. Timeless. Could've been made in 1994, 2004, or tomorrow. Love it. (btw, you absolutely nailed it at the Hacienda 40th thing, thank you!)
For me this is a fine reminder of what and who Orbital are. This would of featured perfectly on an older album, (blue/White). For myself Paul and Phil have pushed forward with their creativity and the available tech. Sometimes sounding very 'un-orbital' if you get what i mean. But this is the flexibility that is available to all musicians. Not being fixed/ firm in style, and being able to 'flex' and then return/ revisit what you might term a 'signature sound' we are familiar with. And why not!, its great to hear who we know Paul and Phil for, and then immerse ourselve's in the unfamiliar. Thank you to both of you!.
It's great to hear the classical song from my early childhood days being re-visited by one of my fav artists. Here in Poland we call it as "Kółko Graniaste"
@@MCJKofficial The meaning for sure is a little bit darker in the english one, but in the overall it's just a localization, the whole game around it is exactly the same
I’ve just made a small research and I’m quite surprised that Kółko Graniaste is partially originating from some french pagan games. That’s interesting.
Such a cool vid..for a classic Orbital track...That haunting verse, the imagery...Does make you realise how lucky some of us were..Time really has become a loop ❤
Just love this track. Pretty much every track on your new album is 'classic' Orbital too. You guys were fantastic in Manchester last week by the way. Looking forward to seeing you live again soon
Effing love this song! Being a massive horror fan, I love the eerie creepiness of the lyrics, and the video is ace, all whilst still sounding classically Orbital! ❤
💯… it’s a full on smile this one. I’ve not heard a set with this being played yet.. my pals getting this on Wax for a vinyl set. Proper excited to hear it.

Beautiful video❤️
So you can imagine my thoughts when i stumbled across them filming this video in the woods while walking my dogs. Great to see the end result.

Cool tempo , powerful bass line , melodic . The sound is in the traditional style ! Great job.
Ringaringa means "hands" or "to wave" in Māori. "ti ringaringa" are children's action songs, so getting eerily close to the meaning of this song!
