I really want to be part of the solution. I’m going to stop endorsing music that glorifies this type of behavior. I’m going to try to engage more with the youth in my community and give them education that they can use to achieve their goals legally instead of feeling like they don’t have options. I raised my son by myself. When he became a teenager he started wanting more expensive things, a lot of them. So I made a deal with him and it accomplished several goals. If he worked part time and raised half the money for the item he wanted, I would pay the other half. He had a job cleaning tables, washing dishes , and cleaning up. He worked 2-3 hours during the week and on weekends he worked 4-6 hours, off on Sunday. What did he learn? 1) He learned the value of a dollar. 2) He quit breaking his toys. 3) It kept him off the street and out of trouble. 4) He learned responsibility. I'm not telling anyone to do exactly what I did, but it could give some parents an idea or 2, to teach their kids something. My son is 40 now and has never been in trouble,he's married with 2 kids. I think I did a pretty good job. Did I make mistakes, yup.
It's not only in America, it's also in South Africa and the UK. Its like our tradition in the family and communities has been deleted by TV and movies coz the family is not eating around the table and putting family first. I grew up in a rural village in Lesotho. Before electricity and before people were listening to the radio. There was such respect then.

As a white dude who actually knows history, the black communities of the 1930s - 1960s were very tight, religious and were very successful because of their family values. I don't know what broke it, but before the '60s, business was great and families in the black communities were prospering. Despite the social challenges (which my ancestors had too in this country) the black community was inspiring.
What contributed to braking it was the US government bringing in social payment that incentivized single motherhood and removed the father from the home.

The lack of accountability drives me crazy in our community, that’s exactly why nothing changes. What are the presidential candidates supposed to do about people who resort of violence, as if there “is no other way”? When people live in the hood every single day and get out by making conscious decisions to improve their lives. You ask politicians to solve the black on black crime, and the solution ultimately becomes lock them up in jail. But what else are they supposed to do, if you don’t want them raising your children wow parents allow the streets and rap artist to control their minds?

Having your dad heavily involved in your life changes the outcome and trajectory of your life, for both men & women. There is a MASSIVE difference going out into the world when you know your dad loves you & has your back. Men with involved dads have far lower rates of criminality.
Teach your children well, and they will aspire to be good Christians, citizens and true men. Children need a FATHER and MOTHER IN THE HOME. Single welfare mothers are almost guaranteed to raise children with all kinds of problems.

Having your dad heavily involved in your life changes the outcome and trajectory of your life, for both men & women. There is a MASSIVE difference going out into the world when you know your dad loves you & has your back.

I’m a 70-year-old. I hate to say it but a white woman. I hate any race to be put in this at all. But I understand what you’re saying, sir. I was at Walmart. Beautiful black women. Absolutely beautiful black women and I can honestly say they didn’t even know each other. Doing their shopping, walking up and down their Isles. And I don’t know what happened. Apparently somebody looked at somebody wrong or said something. But they absolutely started fighting each other. With her children there. And then other women got involved. Black women fighting black women. Beautiful women for what purpose? Was it a look? Was it something that was said is there so much anger in this world that people cannot get along. Good night it’s not only black men. I’m gonna literally say that the women don’t like each other either. It’s almost like they’re jealous of one another, I mean they were beautiful women. I have seen street fights that I just don’t understand. I just don’t understand it and I’ve seen wonderful beautiful people. Destroy one another. And I don’t understand why.
