Thank you for listening! 🙏❤As you may have noticed, we have a small copyright claim towards the end, the full uninterrupted set can also be listened to at the link in the description.
As a fellow DJ myself it infuriates me that we have to deal with their highly incompetent and abused copyright system. There should be a way musicians, producers DJs etc can monetise and avoid having be claimed for posting music, I wouldn't mind if we could pay for an artists license or something similar so we can avoid this nonsense, something similar to what mixcloud does, you would think one of the biggest companies in the world would implement something like this? 🤷🏻♂️ *Whinging aside, thanks for music over the decades, much appreciated! 🙏
@@Memorax Yeah ya absolute right. In club to push energy on a peak it's of course very cool if some tracks are fired in short terms!! But nowadays the style of mixing in which you let run tracks longer, do some nice long transitions and care about harmonies is for my taste close to dying out. Most people today have not the time or don't want to listen to a song for 7 minutes or more. I miss that old times a bit, but like with music in general, it's all a question of personal taste on my opinion!!
Can't play new tunes for long because they lack progression and vibe. It's basically a build, drop, a possible bridge and def a chorus section with nothing more.

Remember Cleveland Watkiss MC-ing and the sound system Eskimo sound. What a great dance floor people dancing from the beginning to the end. It finished too soon on Sunday night. I always left that place wanting to hear more.
Gwan Peshay bad Bwoy for real let them drums go jeeeez!!!! Metalheadz at Blue Note, Hoxton Square was the first time I ever went to a club and I was there every weekend without fail. That whole set is your signature tune Peshay you won’t remember me but I was usually one of the first in Blue Note always skanking on the stage at the back, you would ease the people in with some some nice liquid tunes and then hit them with the drums warming up the session. I took my future wife there on a date once in a facking Limo 4 kids and more than 30 years later listening to this reminds me of preparing myself for the night ahead. As I worked in advertising and publicity I once turned up with the Fugees after doing a photo shoot with them. The tunes and the whole atmosphere were so special I used to be one of the first there because it really didn’t seem to last that long although it probably started at around 19:00 and was finished at around midnight on a Sunday. Just good times everyone knew their tunes down there, bad tunes and mixes got rewinds for sure and Eskimo sound killed the sound system. Yes Peshay thank you…I’ll leave you with a famous quote from Cleveland Watkiss “ Blow Blow Blow your Musical Horn” remember that one? 21st century soul music he would call it.
I was around thru all the early days of rave/ jungle/ d’n’b and recently just re-found my love for it all because my 5 yr old son is absolutely hooked!! Already rocking the Metalheadz merch, singing the basslines, hooks, knows all the run times lol, I’m absolutely in awe of his passion for it. He’s even started buying his own vinyl! We're constantly going thru my record collection and his current favourite track is Psychosis. Just came across this and I cannot wait to listen to it properly, let alone play it to him. He’s obsessed with long mixes, so when he hears that this is 3 hrs he's gonna go nuts!! Haha. And THANK YOU for creating some of my best musical memories back in the 90s. I was always a HUGE fan. Aside from the usual classics, Nevada and that remix you did of Sugizo (minus the awful vocal on the only available versions I know of) were outstanding. You and Flytronix were the kings of jazzstep!!
