She did an actually very nice explanation of something complex that many people do not understand. Why the streamer does not like me when I defend him/her with all my might and dedication? There you have the reason. I like Mea for things like this.

This is why internet people need some semblance of awareness and a bit of empathy. Just know when to stop and when to start shit. Its not hard. But I guess people are just to free nowadays, they ignore even basic etiquette for their selfish desires.
Mea got this right on the spot.

Kagura Mea, realest of the real. You can tell that she's always walking a thin line between personal opinion and having to say certain things for her business, but she's still one of the most honest Vtubers out there. As ever, thanks for the good subs!

She did get popular because of her weird shit, but a reason a lot of people stay is because she's not shy to speak out. She also has streams that are serious and talk about more serious topics.

While many of the first type of comments are probably just jokes I do hope that people will stop doing it as much if Mea is upset about it. The joke is easy to get, "oh hey Mea is rude/pretends to be rude to us so why don't we do a little in return." They don't mean it obviously and that's why they instantly turn supportive. The thing is those jokes are to engage and banter with the chat and streamer, but if the streamer doesn't like those jokes then they've already lost most of their meaning. As for the second type of comments I agree very much so. Adding negativity to a negative situation just makes the situation worse, and the streamers may end up seeing it. I'm not saying don't interact or respond to certain things, although I think most times that is the preferable choice, but if you do interact please think about what you're saying and choose your words wisely.

I agree. People do need to be more self aware and mindful of what they say, even on the internet. Intention and interpretation are big factors when it comes to language and communication.
I do disagree with one thing she said about defending other people. Everyone is different in that regard. Some are fine with sticking up for themselves and that's great. But some might really appreciate that extra bit of support.

  • @Kaimine08

Something Vtubers are incredibly uncomfortable with. Telling their supporters to stop harassing people.
At one end, they need these supporters to finance them so theyo can continue to be a thing.
In the middle, vtuber probably feel that they're betraying their audience by standing against them.
At the other end, harassment seen from a fanbase makes it seem as if the vtuber condones it if they don't say anything or if they just have a message in the description not to do it.
Mae handles it well because her personality easily allows it. She's blunt and isn't afraid to call her fans out on their bullshit/harassment.
Other Vtubers have issues and aren't sure how to address it while keeping the balance intact. Some plead with their audience and others just tell them not to do it and move on. I don't have social media and the like but I occasionally see it in the youtube comments. There's no real reason to be fixated on one particular vtuber to the point of fanboy defense. People are entitled to their opinion nno matter how wrong they are.
    Don't harass other vtubers.
    Don't harass fellow fans.
Try not to cause discourse in other people's streams. I realize that we sometimes will say peko outside of pekora's streams and...you know what, it happens. We forget we have to switch gears on different streams. Let's not make a habit of it though.

Complain in chat -just log out come back next time. Dont bother the others who ARE enjoying her talk at midnight.

To me, it sounds like she's saying "c'mon guys we can both be better than this" and put faith in her community that they'll start to behave a bit better from now on.
Also, starting to ban people for things that she let fly until yesterday will more than likely backfire (followers taking it the wrong way, antis jumping at the opportunity to flame her for acting like a menhera for example). Bans should be used as a last resort.
