Paulie mallingagi was the only one correctly assessing Haney's career and skills. Haney is a solid as hell, but he lacks any outstanding traits and pretty much fought older competition he who he had a size advantage over. The exception was Kambosos but he had turned out to be overrated.

Fans fail to understand that Ryan did more than land left hooks, he first had to set them up! He did this by changing the speed of them, thus making it hard for Haney to time them. Of course Haney trained for them (the left hooks), but sometime there comes a time when you can do nothing about what you see and know!

Every second Haney wasn't hurt, he was winning the fight. Haney wasn't very effective with his pressure, but Ryan did absolutely nothing during rounds 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, and 9. All he did during those rounds was back up, turn his back and hold.

Great analysis Sister Love. I think that Ryan was underestimated based on his antics and being stopped by Tank Davis. Big Mistake! Haney believed in his own hype and thought he could outbox Ryan and avoid the left hook. Well, that didn't happen because Haney got caught early and never really recovered. To Haney's credit, there was no quit. He tried to stay busy and Ryan only fought in spurts. That was to fool Haney into a false sense of confidence then Ryan would open up with a barrage of punches shocking and Hurting Haney. Ryan would then turn so Haney could only hit him on his back with nothing on his punches. He couldn't hurt Ryan and the rest is history.
All of a sudden weight was the problem but Haney at 160 was bullying smaller guys at 135 😂
