OMG Katy B on the channel! This performance always makes my hairs stand on end. She is one of the most underrated artists from the UK and deserves so much more recognition. Big up Skream and Benga too, massive influences in the early Dubstep scene before it became mainstream and went downhill.
So many to call out,. What about Mala, Coki, Rusko, Caspa, Kromestar and Skream just to name a few? Damn I miss dubstep when it was still well produced and before it started sounding like a 56k modem.
@@lokibrux Don't forget Artwork my man, the third guy in Magnetic Man, had a studio on the second floor of Big Apple Records which was the hotspot for early dubstep producers. Also released "Red" on Big Apple which is one of the first true dubstep labels alongside Tempa.
BTW the sound is still going strong to this day... Check out Juan Forte, Dimeshift, Foundation Audio, Locus Sound, Bait... True dubstep never died my man!
You have to appreciate also the fact that the whole orchestra was fed into the 3 laptops, so everything was being "fx controlled" by the 3 guys, skream, benga and artwork
OMG!!! Talk about a trip down Memory Lane. I used to go mental for this back in the day. I loved Katy B. Thinking about BBC live Lounge.. Anne-Marie with Aitch "Physco" Belter tune
This performance by Katy B and Magnetic Men in the BBC Maida Vale studio was iconic. Katys voice was perfect, it's over 13 years but I still listen to it..
I'm late to this but its worth checking out much more Skream. He's one of the trio in Magnetic Man (Skream, Benga, Artwork) and is credited with being one of the original producers of Dubstep before it went commercial and Skrillex put his wobbly bass all over it. Midnight Request Line got played everywhere because Wiley, Jammer, Kano and the Roll Deep crew used to spit over it. Skream - Midnight Request Line ruclips.net/video/lcMAbnZy8l8/видео.html La Roux - In For The Kill (Skreamix) ruclips.net/video/_2XmLcnYSwQ/видео.html The Klaxons - Not Over Yet (Skreamix) ruclips.net/video/ODyXPCmEAlI/видео.html
How did I miss this!! This is fire…you might want to check out the one with Ms. Dynamite as well with Magnetic man, it’s called Fire I think. 👍 Side note I believe Ms. Dynamite is Akala’s sister, if you’ve seen Fire in the booth, you’ll know him! Talented family. Katy B though, yeah, I like her, a lot….
Aaaah I forgot how good this is! And live too 😍 I discovered you after you reviewed the superb Chase & Status 🙌 Have you done Rudimental yet? Waiting all night is 1 of my faves, plus the video is epic (& based on a true story!) All their tunes are amazing (& they have at least 1 featuring Emili Sande 😊) & this years Dancing is healing too is fine!!
Check out 'Katy B - Honey' the track or even the whole album are amazing This is actually what set the recent trend of UK rappers spitting over 80's style synth instrumentals like Casisdead and Novelist
Wow Katy B she was a great artist forgot about this tune I have it in my archives need to pull it out! Pink Floyd is the ultimate headphones test! And RENs latest sick boy album! Great reaction as always chilled thank you..
It's not a techno beat, it's breakbeat. As hip hop heads you'll appreciate the influence broken beats have had on the world. You should check out some videos on the history of the Amen Break. British commonwealth countries have a really diverse history of breakbeat music, but it all started in the US. Props go to hip hop in the end.
The whole Magnetic Man album is 🔥 Magnetic man is a collective of djs called Skream, Benga and Artwork. Skream and Benga are pioneers of the dubstep and grime movement in the uk. You will recognise lots of early grime beats Skream produced. You Should deffo check out some of the Skreamism albums
Banger tune. Magnetic man is Skream and Benga who pretty much pioneered Dubstep, with another guy called Artwork. If we’re doing this, we need to do the classic Roni Size - Paperbag. It’s where it all started for me ruclips.net/video/cwI0gbGEyuI/видео.htmlsi=TGEbtfqgJa7nYbLr
The black dude with yellow neck jumper is Benga....he did a 🔥 track called "Forefather" with Kano You should also take a look at Kano "Class of Deja" ft Ghetts & D Double E live at Maida Vale Also Ghetts dropped another new tune called "Kings Speech"
Hey yo! This was a great reaction! And very interesting because you two obviously know a lot about music production from what you were saying. I subscribed for that reason, and also because im English. And not normally a big fan of this typenof genre, but Katy B is different. I would looove to see you react to a collaboration she did with another popular UK artist, Tinie Tempah! This is one if the tracks i use to cheer/amp me up.buts calked " Turn the music louder". Its a banger!! Plse check that out! 😁😎👌
Not really a hidden gem - this was one of those chart toppers (along eith their track "I Need Air", that played in mainstream clubs out in the UK. Magnetic Man were made up of 3 dubstep pioneers, Benga, Skream, and Artwork - Benga is no longer active due to depression, but Artwork and Skream are still performing every now and then. They have a track with John Legend as well called Going Nowhere
ruclips.net/video/VKUXlWEIdys/видео.htmlsi=Zo3Q5jL_8OqCtRmb This is what you're looking for. There's just something about live dnb... As always, it's so hard to recommend things, as everyone always does... Sometimes they get it right... Other times, it's not that they get it wrong. But they recommend things that aren't in the top 10 songs that should be recommended ☺.. This track right here? Yup.
There's other higher quality vids with way more views, but I just rushed to find the track,.. It's just crazy that you guys are even reacting to this kinda stuff. Again. Thanks for the love for dnb. Thanks for showing other Americans dnb, grime, UK drill etc. As an American, I truly love our music. But there's so much other stuff out there. And many times, they kick our asses in the very genres that we created.
Ole tune back In The day in the uk. Katie B first single was brilliant! Check it out! On a mission
deffo check on a mission! Was on repeat for a lot of people when it came out
