What i will say is look at the way he's holding the bottle. No one holds an empty bottle like that. Then once the trick is over he holds it much more normally. I cant exactly figure out how these tricks are done, but i always look to the things that dont look right, to give clues. For instance how they hold the props, and why there always seems to be exaggerated movements.
Magician here. I watched this frame-by-frame because there is a method of dropping a duplicate cap into the top - you just do it under cover of the larger movement - but he definitely isn't using that method. I think you may have landed on the solution!
