I was lucky enough to watch Donny and Bat McGrath and the Showstoppers many times in Rochester back in the mid-sixties. Don was simply GREAT! Singing and of course playing the guitar. I “Never” saw a local band even try to do Georgia On My Mind. And I can’t even come close to describing how perfectly he sang it. The band was nothing short of amazing and always delivered.
If the lady of my life passes on due to liver cancer i will go with her. I have no need to be lonely with out her in my life as, i am now. if you ever get a chance to see the movie notebook, you will know how much i love Norma Ruiz, i want this song to be played when i lay next to her when that time comes, My love for her is embedded in my soul........ This is one the most beautiful songs and his rendition is the best. This song and his version of Paris Without You are wind wonderful.
