@JoeGrzzly it's sort of why I was offended by them trying to bring it in and stop some of the chaos cause it's the part I like the most of 4 sided dive.
Okay, for those asking; The Tarot Cards Taliesin picked out, in Order: - Marisha got The World (Reversed): Seeking personal closure, short-cuts, delays - Sam got The Devil (Upright): Shadow self, attachment, addiction, restriction, sexuality - Dani's is really hard to see, but I think thats the Ace of cups? Which (upright): Love, new relationships, compassion, creativity. - Laura got The Tower (Upright): Sudden change, upheaval, chaos, revelation, awakening. Normally considered the closes to a "Bad" Tarot card. -Her second pick is The Magician (Upright): Manifestation, resourcefulness, power, inspired action -Taliesin, doing Tarot in the Mollymauk T-Shirt, got Death (Upright): Endings, change, transformation, transition Thank you for your time, hope you enjoyed the reading.
I usually don't comment on RUclips, but this has been one of the best 4-Sided Dive episode I have seen. I thoroughly enjoyed the chaos and I haven't laughed this much in a very long time. I think many moments will live rent free in my head as the Brennan Lee Mulligan monologue of the yes/no game changer episode. I know it's a parasocial situation, but I really love you guys
To paraphrase an old Heinlein quote: "Being parasocial is nothing to be ashamed of, just do it in private and wash your hands afterwards." (the original starts with "writing")
@boniakarlo we know they were in the playtest. Get those crazy kids back together. Though bringing in Bob means we'll get a bunch of airplane/train interruptions
18:04 My favourite example of this is Escape from the Blood Keep, which Matt played in, where it was supposed to end with all the villainous PCs killing each other but they'd spent the past two episodes professing the power of friendship and love. The DM had to scramble some enemies together into a final fight.
What a joy this was! The enforcing of the rails is unnecessary. It's good that there's a path and a structure that *can* be followed but it's so much more fun, engaging, and enjoyable when the personalities that we tune in for twice a week just get to talk about life like they did on the old CR talk show.
How many times I replayed the fireball/cheese segment, I will never know. The answer is expanding like the universe. This episode made me very happy, but I hope you guys make more time to just hang out and smell the flowers every once in a while, cause it sounds like that is something you might want and/or need. Love you, lots&lots. Marisha, that "above table answer" bait was perfect.
25:23 I have to defend Liam here! The second floor of the tower has always been an empty room with 9 doors on each wall. The doors work like the "room of requirement" from Harry Potter where when you open it you find what you need/want. SO Bells hells had a whole floor with nine doors (facing each other) that lead to nine bedrooms that had sheets decorating the beds. Which means there were walls and they did have privacy!
Thank you!! And doesn't he describe the doors as like, large sliding doors? I always pictured them like pocket doors but because of magic they can completely disappear into their "pockets" if desired. I love that floor of the tower, it's so handy!!
He clarified on X: "Liam O'Brien @VoiceOfOBrien · Nov 12 The tower’s structure is fixed. Only small details change. BH camped in 2nd floor hall, whose 9 closets provide things that are needed. In this case, beds. M9 slept up in their bedrooms on 5, 6, 7. A place for everything and everything in its place. "
@@milktots6933 I thought this at first, but at 37:00 when Taliesin sends Laura to pull the piece, he mentions that she already threw the Tower card. It would take a lot of editing effort to reshoot and splice that section in order to make that a retroactive joke. The Occam's Razor here is that they included the Tower card as an obvious bit, since the ToI is a staple, and then Laura just made a bad call of which piece to pull. Sometimes neat circumstances do just happen.
Marisha! I ironically just met your dad. He was lovely btw. We talked about how inspiring you are. Thank you for all the hard work you do. That goes to everyone on the cast as well.
This was the best episode up until now! I prefer this to be a spontaneous space for us to glimpse into the people behind the show and their chemistry ❤
I am laughing at the intro. In college a friend took up giving people readings. So I sat in a few times to give her some chances. She allowed many people to pick a card that represented themselves, but I didn't identify with anything enough to pick one. Anyway, during my readings, the Tower came up for me so many times, in so many key places, that I decided that should be my card. She not only refused, but also refused to give me any more readings, being concerned I was having a bad influence on her deck. So Laura getting, and throwing away, The Tower made me chuckle.
It's amazing how the episode halfway through became a circle of confessions about childhood crushes and romantic breakups, and then a group of people trying to scientifically discover how centaur reproduction works. We had the gas leak episode.

For about the first 18 months or so of the Mighty Nein I was convinced the cast had decided to run an Evil Campaign. It turned a different direction over time, but it easily could have slanted the other way with only a few choices flipped the other way. I like the way it went - made it interesting.
