I don't know if that was a joke, i mean because it was published in april one, the day of the teases, and i don't know if Hysteria is the greatest album ever, or if there is something like the greatest album ever, but actually Hysteria is really one of the greatest and not because the things that you said that were funny, it is one of the best produced albums in history, it contains fantastic songs and great guitar work from both the late Steve Clark and Phil Collen, when Vivian Campbell joined the band he had to listen to the guitar solos from the album and he was blown away, he said he didn't know from where the solos come from, the song Animal and the video for the song are the best, and the Deluxe edition is even better than the original one, cheers!!!

Def Leopard set a benchmark with this album. But years later they hit the lowest point with me when I was at K Mart and seen a DVD on the shelf called Crossroads Taylor Swift performs with Def Leopard. And I only thought Gene and Paul from KISS are the biggest sell outs in the heavy metal industry.
Rick Allen's brother managed Taylor at the time, but there's a comment on there where they say the only difference between hard rock and country is adding slide guitar and fiddle. Rock isn't dead, it's just wearing a Stetson and shitkickers. Why else are hard rockers relocating to Nashville?

High and dry is one of the best Hard Rock Records around for my money. One of the top 10 best hard rock records in my book and it has a killer guitar sound...(J.C.M.800 Marshall!!) The songwriting is very mature for a Young Band and the songs I have a butt accessible without being overproduced. Just listen to Hit and Run... Mirror Mirror... or any other song on that brilliant recording and you will understand what I'm saying.

Hysteria is seriously a banger. I mean Mutt challenged them to make a hard rock version of Thriller with 7 hit singles and they did just that despite all the craziness they had to deal with like Rick's accident and not originally having Mutt Lange producing it, but once he came back they hit just about every angle they possibly could to create an album that would appeal to just about everyone and they managed to do that very successfully. 25 million albums sold worldwide. Hearing it for the first time is what lead me to wanna pick up the guitar.
what's so great about this album to me, is that every song is packed with lots of different sections/transitions. and it flows really well, unlike most prog music (which also has a lot of sections). this gives it a ton of replayability.
