Many people have the idea that she tried to kill herself out of sadness, when clearly she just wanted to dance with sans undertale. She figured the easiest way was to yeet her own skeleton out and dance with it
the way i like to interpret it is as a literal "flirting with death"; getting so close to dying, but still living; maybe at the end she actually dies, and realizes that isnt what she wants. idk tho ur voice is so good with this tho gj gj
Ah, i feel like the use of "otome" here instead of something like "onanoko" or something is significant. Usually otome is used in titles and such to mean something like an otome game, where the girl can chose to live a life of love without worry. I'd like to think that she treats the relationship she's in like a game, where she can see how her partner is supposed to respond and that they will, and always will, without fail. But while her partner is with her, they slowly realize that she's not taking them as seriously as they feel she could. The "dissection" if you will. But she's been raving about killing herself the whole time to them, so they feel like they have to stay to keep her from falling so far into despair. And one day they leave, and she actually follows through with what she said she would all along. Pretty similar to what a lot of other people are saying, but I feel like its important to stress that the singer feels very ambivalent until the very end of the song. There's no regret until there's no going back.
Otome actually means 'virgin' hence otome game means games for virgin, otome game is basically Japanese translation of dating sim, so the otome in the title has no connection with otome game because the word 'otome' is standing on it's own.
@@Diamondr11Blue I mean, maiden actually means unmarried (and therefore virgin) girl, so both translation are correct. Just depends on which connotation you want
A popular fan theory I've seen is that she was suicidal and would attempt suicide only for her boyfriend to save her the first 3 times and then the last time he didn't come to her aid Also I've been waiting since day one for you to cover this song and its amazing!
@@mothgelic to be fair he himself probably feel tired having to save her constantly when the girl keeps doing it. It's neither of their fault which is sad
I kinda hear it from the perspective of the girls inner demons, and the girl is fighting them with certain lines like the one where she talks about "these feelings aren't mine"
My interpretation of the song is that the girl is, indeed, bored of life. She has a significant other, hobbies, things to do… but she’s just completely bored of it. She doesn’t take her partner seriously and can almost know how they’re going to respond next. The girl says “I wish somebody would let me die” but she doesn’t really mean it, since she doesn’t want to die. She just wants something, anything, to spark interest again in her life.
I literally got goosebumps when rachie sings "we're *slicing* her open" I love soft rachie bUT I REALLY MISS RACHIE'S POWERFUL VOICE SO MUCH AND THE CUTE LITTLE GIGGLES IN THE INTRO AND END AAAAAAAAAA
This song looks like is not about suicide. Its about a girl losing its virginity to a man that doesn´t care. Took from Tacticalmoonstone user, in original japanese song: "There is a compelling reason to state that things may not be as morbid as it seems, in that in Japanese Buddhism skulls and bones are symbolic of impermanence, not death. That last scene is her wrapping up the story she was telling, of her losing her virginity to a man she realises doesn't actually want to pursue a serious relationship with her. It's a bookend to the beginning, where she begins by quite literally picking up the pieces of that last relationship. This song hides quite a few hints that you wouldn't really notice unless you are really familiar with Japanese. (does いきたくない mean 生きたくない (I don't want to live), 逝きたくない (I don't want to die), or イきたくない (I don't want to climax)?) Those blink-and-you-miss positions at 3:13 look awfully suspect. Also worth noting that she is never quite shown as a skeleton until the last verse of the song; she is shown with a skeleton for the song instead."
My theory: The girl is depressed after the breakup and, as I read in another comment here, she attempts suicide each time the chorus comes, but always fails because someone comes to save her. She feels some hatred for him ("Come have a taste you deserve it", "Now it's love I wanna cut from my life", "Envious madness making me lose all my mind"), but still can't accept it ("I had this dream you were fine without me") but at the same time can't figure out why he decided to end the relationship ("The answers I've yet to find"). She does also say "COME GATHER ROUND we're slicing her open" meaning that she wanted other people's attention while she was on the edge of her life to let them know about her pain. Perhaps in the end, he came back to tell her he wanted them back together but it's too late because she dies (have you noticed how happy and calm she was in the first three choruses and how scared she was in the last one? She probably didn't want to die anymore now that he was back. Also in the end she was trying to grab something which was probably the guy) I think the song is called "Otome Dissection" because otomes are games about "perfect love lives" which means she treated her relationship like an otome, thinking it was never going to end, and that's why she felt like that after the breakup. Hope you like my theory~ (and that anyone will see it lol)
Ah, I've had a theory about this song ^^ I knew you would turn up covering it !! I'm so happy. A lot of people think this girl is suicidal, I don't think that's entirely the case. My perspective of the song is of a girl who toys with her emotions too much and not realizing that she's hurting herself, which is something I have felt a lot. The more the other person draws themselves back, the more it hurts, but as DECO*27 has displayed in a lot of his recent songs, the protagonist never usually feels one specific way about something, and this song isn't any different as it shows that even though the girl feels so much pain from playing and pretending, she still seems to enjoy it. How is she toying with her emotions exactly? Making jokes out of them and such. Playing games like "Hey, do you like me?" and retreating with a laugh and stuff. Not to mention, when she isn't stepping her boundaries, she is talking the same old same old and nothing changes. It's complicated, but analyzing the lyrics I can't imagine the song is basically just about suicide, even when the graphics and lyrics toy with that theme. Maybe the skeletons represent her true feelings, that's why she is constantly dancing with them. Someone in a sub video said the flowers may represent deception or something, I don't remember so I can't validate. While these experiences can make you want to die, maybe, certainly if it hurts enough. But all in all I believe the song is just about denying your true feelings every time you get close to them, getting bored, losing the other, getting hurt. I guess it's hard to really shorten it down since theres so much you can get into ^^; I really hope you see this if it clears up things for you !! DECO*27 seems to write songs about a lot of the things I've felt before. t's scary isn't it? LOL ♥️
The mentions of shame , pain that feels good, the lines: "all of this sickening hurting, come have a taste you deserve it, every emotion I wanted to share by your side, now it's love I want to cut from my life." I think it's about the girl feeling neglected by her lover and the feeling that they're cheating. She wants a lot of affection which is where I think "softly say my name, I'm just feeling so broken" comes in because she feels neglected by her partners lack of affection and attention so she decides to kill them and engage in affectionate acts with them as they are dead which is why she is dancing with a skeleton. And "your love's so far from my life" could add on to that. (I swear I just came up with this. I don't know why I get all smart at night. ) "spice from life" it could be something exciting like an adventure or something interesting (or something i shall not mention). "I had this dream you were fine without me and were happily in love your life was so much better" she thinks that her partner is cheating, then "I'll wait my turn" the one they are cheating on her with can have then for now because shell take them back (coming back to the skeleton). "Envious madness is making me lose all mind, your love's so far from my life" again, she wants affection and now seeing it again maybe she's just a yandere and the person isn't actually her partner. [My fingers are rejecting to work so try finding the meaning of the middle chorus (the part where they change the lyrics then go back to the original lyrics) also the cat refers to her hiding her feelings or true intentions]
AHHHH IVE BEEN WAITING FOR ENGLISH LYRICS FOR THIS THIS SOUNDS SO GOOD,,, Tbh it Feels like this song is about self harm and extreme/violent intrusive thoughts. While she’s not actively trying to commit suicide she’s still having those thoughts and probably still hurting herself in ways that aren’t too conventional (picking at skin, pulling hair, scratching herself, etc.) The intrusive thoughts come to mind because of the “I wish those thoughts where mine” and the ending part of the pv where she seems to be more imaging herself in those situations rather than actually being in them.
Adding on to this, I have a theory that I’m the pv parts where she’s dancing with death she’s maladaptive daydreaming- vivid daydreams where you imagine yourself in complex and well thought out scenarios and that her intrusive thoughts spill into her daydreams where she dreams herself committing suicide and dancing with death
Ahhhhh great cover Rachie!!! I dont have any theory of my own, but I did see one that was like; The girl is trying to die, and expecting help from her SO, but after a while they leave her because they are sick of her, and she finally dies. Or something like that- There were a lot of paragraphs in their theory.
The defiant and almost seductive of the melody kills me and is such a confusing feeling when contrasted with the lyrics. This cover is way too good for my health. Also thee has slain us all with the high notes.
^^^ (for the other english speakers wondering……) "This is the original isnt it ?!?! It sounds so natural, the way it flows so quickly !!! And the singing is just too cute !!! I really like (the feeling of ?) the talking in the first part…… (0:28 ?)"
I saw a different theory a while ago talking about how the girl is talking to her dead lover the whole time. She refuses to cut off her delusion that she can still talk with him, it shows her lighting incense at the "spice in life" line, and towards the end she finally realizes he is dead and no matter how much she analyzes her feelings again and again, she cant reverse that they died. Then they talked about how at the end she either killed herself to be with her lover after the realization, or killed the delusional version of herself (her feelings towards ger dead lover) and the body at the end is representative of her finally coming to terms with the fact her lover is dead. As for the second possible ending, OP also talked about how if that was what happened, then the girl also came to terms with the fact she could still love him in her heart despite never being able to see him again.
This right here is the song that brought me into the vocaloid community, and I am so happy it did. My life quality has improved tenfold ever since I started listening to vocaloid. Thank you for making such a banger of a song.
This song is about death and love. To make it easier to explain, we will call the girl in this clip Marine, and the guy she's in love with Hercule. However(in my opinion), it doesn't concern a relationship, but the illusion of a relationship. Marine is surrounded by death (sh'e's actually dancing with skeletons , there's no bigger evidence), several members of her family died, and she's left alone. Those loses made her desperate and in need of help, a help that Hercule gives her by stopping her from committing suicide several times. And because of his kindness towards her, Marine falls in love with him. But, Hercule ends meeting someone else and decides to go away to build a new life with his partner, leaving Marine alone once again... And this is the starting point of the song. The complete and absolute loneliness of Marine is represented by the fact she's the only person appearing in the MV, wherever she goes, she can't find anyone to console her from the deception Hercule left her struggling with. This deception is represented by the plant Chines Laterne that appears a lot in the clip, and which means in the language of flowers "deception". The culminating point of the video is its end, where we can clearly see the successful suicide attempt of Marine.
Been a year and I have to say, this is probably my favourite cover. Maybe it’s the lyrics or the way it’s sung or the colour palette. I don’t know, but I’m sat here with the song on repeat just vibing out right now, exactly like I did when it was uploaded a year ago
My theory was that the boy she loved died (could've been suicide, who knows), and she's struggling to cope with it. Throughout the video, you see little flashes of what look like the small Japanese shrines families keep for departed loved ones. Add that to the "Once in the morning and evening/ I cast a spell as you're leaving", which in the original translation was "I sprinkle this spice on you", I.E. the incense the burn to honour the dead, and things start to come together. Add this to the fact that you never see anyone except her in the whole video, where she does things like talk to a cup-and-string phone with no apparent other end, and I'm pretty sure her love interest is dead. It is highly likely with all the suicide-related scenes played in the video that she might've tried to commit suicide to join him, maybe multiple times, but seeing as she's still in the video, I guess they didn't succeed. So where do the bones and "otome" aspects come in? I think that with her lover dead, she carries on life pretending he's alive, talking to him and conversing, even though he's not there. This is why you see her dancing with the bones, they represent the part of her (her imagination, basically) that she's using to substitute for him, trying to pretend like he was still with her. In the end, when the bones disappear from her body, I see this as the moment she finally comes to terms with the fact that the "boyfriend" she was talking with all these times, the one who she feels so distant from, who doesn't respond, was just her all this time. The bones she took from herself to make her boyfriend to dance with are the pieces of herself she split off so as to pretend he was still living. This is kinda like the general modern use of the word "otome", as in female otakus, who will play dating games and collect hug pillows and the like, amassing this idea that they've found the perfect boyfriend, that he's real, and they understand each other, when its just one-sided fantasizing. Make any sense? I've been mulling over this sense Deco's first release of the song, and I think it's a pretty solid theory.
@@fedechan6325 Honestly, I never thought about it, but it seems the general consensus is that it symbolizing her actually dying at the end, so maybe she "went to join her boyfriend".
GIRL, THOSE HIGH NOTES I- And the translation?! IMPECCABLE. I love your work, your voice and interpretations are fantastic! I'm blown away by how flawlessly coherent everything is; it ain't easy to translate from Japanese into English AND make it rhyme!
I see a lot of different interpretations of this song so here’s mine. There aren’t many people in this song, so that may mean that the girl in the song is lonely, causing her to have suicidal thoughts. She finally made a friend or developed feelings for someone, but was constantly unsure if they actually cared about her. That’s why she was attempting to kill herself. The only reason she failed was because of the one person. The video showed Chinese lanterns a lot too. Those plants usually symbolize deception, so she was possibly tricked into thinking she was unloved and nobody cared about her. These acts of suicide were out of need for reassurance that someone cared about her. So when she died at the end she realized that death wasn’t the right choice. Idk if this makes any sense or if anyone will will see this. Have a great day and don’t forget to eat ur soop:)
This is a beautiful cover. I know exactly what this song means... It's a terrifying yet thrilling feeling when you can't think of any good reason to keep your body safe. I'm glad those days are behind me.
A curiosity of the video is that sometimes a special fruit appears, this is the Hōzuki fruit. The seeds of the Hōzuki fruit are traditionally used in Japan during the Obon festival as offerings to guide the souls of the departed. . _ .
To me it seems kinda like she's looking for both thrill and the reasons she feels the way she does, so I think personally she might have borderline personality, where she desperately wants to die, but subconsciously only wants to get the attention of her boyfriend and affirmation that he still loves her. Eventually the boyfriend gets fed up and breaks up with her, she tries to kill herself one final time, elated at the fact that no one will stop her, but deep inside expecting her boyfriend to save her, when he doesn't show up and she realizes death isn't what she wants, it'salready too late and death is coming for her. But hey that's just what I think!
Time for a different type of theory about this song. This song is actually about a girl and her lover who enjoy torturing and killing people. Killing people adds some excitement in her otherwise boring life, giving her the "spice" that she wants out of it. "Come gather 'round we're slicing her open" alludes to when her and her lover are torturing and killing their victims, and "a burning sort of passion suddenly woken" refers to how the acts make her feel in that moment. "Someone let me die" is something she probably has heard a lot as her victims plead for death. "Saliva coats the lies we tell as I'm broken" refers to all the lies her and her lover have to tell in order to keep their activities secret, with "Hey what's up? With me? Nothing much. I'm alive, but can't say there's much to discuss" being her lies. However, while she enjoys the act of killing, it's also filling her with shame and possibly guilt, and her conflicting feelings slowly start to break her and make her suicidal. "I'm itchin' from all the shame inside," "how I wish those words were mine," "I'm praying for peace of mind," as well as the repeated words "I'm broken/I'm feeling so broken" showcase this inner conflict of hers. She manages to keep it together, though, because of her lover. But one day her lover leaves or is killed, throwing her over the edge and driving her to finally commit suicide.
Excuse me Rachie I was just in extremely depressed mode then you smashed this right on my face, I wasn't prepared for this okay?????? TOO MUCH EXCITEMENT AND AMUSEMENT FOR ME AND BROUGHT ME OUT OF DEPRESSION INSTANTLY
Learning english is frustrating and confusing at first but learning new things is always fun! I love japanese though. For me it's far more romantic than French.
I have a theory: The girl is in some kind of hook up relationship but she is/was in love with them. “We all want some spice from life and you know it, just give me a sign” can refer to their one sided love; she particularly called out her (Significant other or SO) for wanting a “spice out of life” aka sex. And the “just give me a sign” can be a reference to calling her up for sex. There are a ton of other references too. And the more she hooked up with them, the more she started to feel guilty or shameful for being used in such a way. And through out the video, she believes that she deserves the pain and shame for allowing this relationship to continue. Also she struggles with wanting to be free of the relationship but still having feelings and a way that she can be close to the person she loves, aka hooking up. The girl also displays a lot of pessimism to life and love. This could be her trying to appear that she’s on the same wavelength with her SO being like, “Feelings? Pfff, who needs those” despite having them herself. “Yeah, somewhere there’s someone that’s trapped and can’t get out. They’re clinging to a fading SOS now” could be talking about however crappy their relationship is, she can’t seem to shake the hope that their relationship will become loving. But she ends up dying at some point. The rest of this video is her in the afterlife where she doesn’t realize that she’s dead until she remembers what had happened and regrets not confessing or something. (A lot of the visuals is just her wandering alone throughout the The visuals at 3:03 and 3:14 are harder to explain but these can be referring to: 1) the girl putting herself in dangerous/deadly situations so that their SO will save them, become infatuated with her and suddenly want a romantic relationship (kinda like an otome game). 2) OR the skeleton ends up being her afterlife self and she’s reliving/watching all the times she’s broken down and tried her hurt herself over the feelings she’s hated so much (i think this is the correct one tbh) I do have one question: does anyone know what the name of that fruit that was in the video? It has to have some symbolism that I’m not picking up. Edit: How could I forget to say this - Rachie your vocals are so good TT~TT ily. Also David's lyrics are bomb, they were great for analyzing!
A lyric I found interesting the more I thought about it was: Come gather ‘round we’re slicing her open - Probably a double (or more) meaning. Could refer to autopsy cutting people open, reveling all the girl's shame or the girl's gradual breakdown
I Agree with the second one, there's a part in the vid where she's looking in the water and her reflection is the red Skeleton. Something interesting is that she may have only had 1 or 2 attempts, she crosses the street to the red Skeleton so she may have just been thinking about how getting run over could be effective. Her holding out her arm may not have been an attempt but a gearing up for one. Now a different comment mentioned how the word Otome meant Virgin. What if the line Come Gather 'Round We're Slicing Her Open Was the Dissection of her Virginity and That's the Shame that's eating her up. And because of that she might be with a different guy each time the chorus comes in. And each time the chorus comes in she hates herself a little more until death is the only thing that can free her in her mind. Though I could be way off as well and making the song needlessly darker than needed lol ^^;
This song is so good what on earth!! Also damn you killed those high notes, they sounded amazing! +The flow of your lyrics on those rap-py parts is so fun, this is an all-around great cover tbh
While I can see where the other comments are coming from.. this doesn't "feel" like a character planning to kill herself. It feels like an investigator putting themself in the character's place to find motivation. Every time we see the "main character", is the Investigator putting themself in the "Victim"'s place. We see the Investigator retracing the Victim's steps, contemplating the Victim's thoughts, following their routine, asking "what were you thinking? Who were you talking to? What.. was the point?", with the Investigator slowly understanding the Victim's thoughts and intents. By the end, the Investigator has a complete "internal picture" of the Victim, to the point where they forget that they aren't the victim - with that mental copy "fading away", and then the case is "closed" with the Victim's intent/actions understood, for whatever point was being investigated. As the Victim reacts in "shock" by appearance, it seems the Victim may have been assumed to commit suicide but it was discovered that they (she, likely) was simply in an accident - there's "flirting" with several ideas, but they're all given with a positive outlook - she was just sidetracked, and got killed having had the wrong focus. Much like whoever spurned on the need for the Investigator, the comments here assume it was suicide when there IS evidence against that outlook - but even retracing the Victim's steps, can we really be sure?
i feel like the clothes in the window at 0:41 are references to other songs ( like the first one is from the girl in two breaths walking and the second outfit is from relationship scramble )
OMG OMG IM GENUINELY WAITING FOR ANYONE TO DO ENGLISH COVER ON THIS AND YOURS IS AMAZING OMFG SKDKSNFKS IM CHOCKING THANK YOU RACHIE YOU BEAUTIFUL GODDESS
An emotional feel trip, and as always I love it. This was a beautiful cover, and yet another song I am going to listen to way too many times. Thanks for always gracing us with your amazing voice rachie, as well as everyone else who helped
My theory is that she was a suicidal person in a toxic relationship-but she was the toxic one because she wanted to die. The "It feels good when it hurts" is her doing self harm, and then the "everyone wants a little spice in their life" is her telling her partner that she will 'spice' up their life by killing herself. And the chorus, "Lets play a game of girl dissection" is her asking her partner to dissect her, or kill her
Yessss another Deco upload, I love it! The lyrics are fabbbb, you've pulled it off fantastically, great as usual Rachie! 💜 EDIT: Props to David for the lyrics, they're so good and they fit so well Omg 😍
there was a girl who was engaged to a boy in a small town when a few months before the wedding, he broke it off and left town without giving a single word of explanation, and everybody in the town heard about it and gossiped and gossiped and gossiped, and so the girl stewed in her own self-loathing while others sliced open her mind, her heart, her thoughts and feelings, all from a purple objective point of view, and nobody really comforted her, and she had grown to depend on him so much that now she was in her own she felt like her gowns and been torn out and she was both bleeding out and collapsing from the inside out, and she would rather die but she was scared to die, why was she so scared to die, she just wanted it to be over, and she tried to convince herself that he did really love her after he called her up to apologize, but he still didn’t explain, and he probably would never explain, and as she toyed with her own heart her emotional spine got pulled out joint by joint. The end.
So here's my theory slash interpretation of the song (?) The girl has either broken up with her partner and is still obsessing over them or used to be someone's fling and her 'partner' later on realized that this is not what they wanted for some reason and dumped her but she is still in love with / obsessing over them. She is portrayed as 'lovesick' (I don't really like using that term) She doesn't seem to know how to handle this, living without her beloved one is pointless, she can't get them off her mind and everything else seems very much shallow and bleak. Definitely not a healthy mindset to have. She's obviously holding a grudge against them: "Torn up love that'll all turn to dust", "Come get a taste, you deserve it", "Now it's love I want to cut from my life", etc. She'd do anything to get their attention again, it's very clearly driving her insane as the song progresses, so she attempts to take her own life expecting them to no longer care, yet, they end up being the one's 'rescuing' her. She does show hints of shame overtime, but it feels right. She got their attention back. Going for the first, ex-partner version, I assume they found someone new, and are now in a happy and healthy relationship. (Unless?) Now for the fling version, I assume they either 1. Sorted things out 2. They haven't told 'em, so there was no reason for a fuss or anything of that sort, things have probably improved since they decided to give up their fling. Now, the second attempt: I think this time it was because she expected it to go the same way as it did before, and well, she was right. It did. But she was hoping for something more this time, perhaps a second chance? "Your stubbornness claims my mind" and "How a boring way to end the night" are a prime example of excitement sinking into blunt disappointment. I feel as though they caught onto her methods, or... possibly just give up on 'er. She does it once more. One last, final time. All she deemed important is flashing in front of her eyes She sees them slipping out of her hands. They're now out of her reach. That's it! Reading the following is up to you. I have read a few theories in this comment section before writing mine and... Honestly, a lot of the ones I came across are very very interesting and had some sort of influence on this. If you have a different interpretation of this song and would like to share it with me, it'd be an honor to read it and I'd be more than happy to!! Thank you for taking the time to read this, remember to stay hydrated and take care of yourselves
とても素敵な歌声ですね!! たまにアレンジも入っていますが透き通った声でとても聞きやすいです 英語バージョンは初めて聞来ましたがとても素敵です!! It is a very wonderful singing voice Arrange occasionally It is easy to hear by a clear voice I heard the English version for the first time
OkaaAAY so my own theory from what I could gather in the video The girl fetishize about death, you can see multiple crime scene symbols. You see her dancing with skeletons with a peaceful expression so I suppose it's her embracing her weird fantasies. It's pretty clear there's someone else involved, I'd say it's someone who wants to kill her (maybe a serial killer ?) and she knows it, she's REALLY into it that's why she's so flirty with them. My guess is she's in this weird "relationship" with them but in the end when she actually gets killed she realizes that's not what she wants, probably because death isn't sexy and pretty painful ? Idk m8
Heck yeah! I'm glad someone sent me a link to this song, I've been waiting for some translations, but heck yeah! This is better thank you to the person who sent me this.
You know this song would work for the opening of Shi Ni Aruki if it ever becomes an anime. For those that don't know it's a horror manga that was recently completed, it's also made by the same person that does that cooking fantasy dungeon manga
My headcannon is that the girl is in a relationship with a boy who gave her attention because she lost all her family members and went through lots of tragedy and the girl becomes fixated on gaining that attention because it's what keeps her happy in a world with nothing. Hence why she's alone throughout the whole video except the end. The deception (flower language for the Chinese laterne seen throughout the video) here is that both parties are wearing masks. She loves him and wants his attention but he only seems to give it when she tries to harm herself. She's lying about wanting to die just to get his attention meanwhile the boy only seems to act out of general obligation rather than actual care hence why the feelings are frail. She spends the entire MV dancing with skeletons because it symbolizes her using her life as a tool to get attention from the boy. The bones she dances with and the "boy" in question aren't actually literal or real. The skeleton she is dancing with and meets later is her after dying. It is also the boy at the same time. The "boy" she is talking too that we never actually see is society. The boy in question is actually a symbolism of what she desires from the world, attention. The world pitied her once she lost her family members and now she is enamoured by that pity. She pulls a "boy who cried wolf" and on her last attempt to gather attention from society no one cares anymore. I think this is clued into by how she starts by talking through a phone, then a cup on a string, and then just a hand sign. Society is getting closer and closer to "slicing her open" realizing she is just crying wolf for attention. Additionally, the "skeleton" she is talking too getting closer foreshadows her death coming closer. No one saves her and she actually dies which isn't what she actually wanted but society couldn't care for her anymore and couldn't see what she actually wanted due to her mask and the way she went about harboring love and care. She really went out of her way to "cut love from her life" literally.
Why do I feel like I can relate with this music? I just can put the music and my life together and It's not far away from eachother, matching with my feelings, life, people and even my paranoias. Idk how, it just does.
So, like, I was listening to Rachie and wondering when she was going to put another song up and then *THIS* JEWEL UPLOADED AND I'M SCARED IF RACHIE MIGHT BE READING MY MIND
I think this song is about someone who got so bored of life that they decided to fall into the darkest parts of it. It goes on about how she has a lover and how she isnt being taken seriously "i had a dream you were with someone else you were so happy i guess ill wait my turn" followed by the chorus "come on we're slicing her open" she was bored and depressed and instead of ending herself she decided to look for that "spice of life" by killing her romantic partner. The melody being as slow and consistent as it is tells us that this is a story that's already been told, and we're just reading over it like a diary entry. I think the girl did go off the deep end because of the line "the pain feels so right"
First of all I cannot believe I slept on this for so long. I am ashamed that I did Now for some symbolism theory no one asked about: I feel like this girl is in love with the concept of death. It plagues her thoughts and feels as though it’s her coping mechanism from dealing with intrusive thoughts of suicide. The love she speaks of could even be the concept of death’s sweet embrace as depicted in media. She surrounds herself with concepts of death, ponders the consequences of suicide but only goes to attempt once and ends up being too scared and botches it. She completes her suicide but instead of death’s sweet embrace she had dreamed of, she is met with a cold loneliness. The “we’re slicing her open” could literally refer to an autopsy or the literary form where we are dissecting where her life went wrong
Hey so uh i just relapsed into s/h while listening to this and that's bad and horrible and all but slashing my own arm wide fuckin open right at that "I'm praying for peace of miiiind" just unlocked some new fuckin emotions
I do agree with the popular theory(the top comment currently has details about it) With the skeleton that always appears in the chorus could be the people that keep saving her. However at the end the skeleton breaks which could show that they left and thats when she finally dies. (Probably doesn't make sense but just my two cents)
If you guys want to discuss the meaning the song, I suggest looking at a literal English translation instead of a cover (which can sometimes be liberal with the meaning for the sake of rhymes).
In my opinion, I think she's talking about how she's 'disecting her feelings' like she's never been in love before and she's kinda mad about it..??? IDK that's just the feeling I get! This cover is amazing! Can't stop coming back to listen to this! I love it so much!!
Many people have the idea that she tried to kill herself out of sadness, when clearly she just wanted to dance with sans undertale. She figured the easiest way was to yeet her own skeleton out and dance with it
AdmiralYeetius well she hearted your comment so I guess that’s the canon answer

You deserve a skeleton, sir.
the way i like to interpret it is as a literal "flirting with death"; getting so close to dying, but still living; maybe at the end she actually dies, and realizes that isnt what she wants. idk tho ur voice is so good with this tho gj gj
O shiz
Otome actually means 'virgin' hence otome game means games for virgin, otome game is basically Japanese translation of dating sim, so the otome in the title has no connection with otome game because the word 'otome' is standing on it's own.
lyaazr thanks for the clarification! this is really just me throwing ideas around lol
@@user-im2qy7ns2j otome means Maiden
@@Diamondr11Blue I mean, maiden actually means unmarried (and therefore virgin) girl, so both translation are correct. Just depends on which connotation you want
A popular fan theory I've seen is that she was suicidal and would attempt suicide only for her boyfriend to save her the first 3 times and then the last time he didn't come to her aid
Also I've been waiting since day one for you to cover this song and its amazing!
Wow that sucks especially if he didn't help her just basically let her die

@@mothgelic to be fair he himself probably feel tired having to save her constantly when the girl keeps doing it. It's neither of their fault which is sad
That's pretty fucked up... But it goes in line with the music video so I'll take it
I kinda hear it from the perspective of the girls inner demons, and the girl is fighting them with certain lines like the one where she talks about "these feelings aren't mine"

This song looks like is not about suicide. Its about a girl losing its virginity to a man that doesn´t care. Took from Tacticalmoonstone user, in original japanese song:
"There is a compelling reason to state that things may not be as morbid as it seems, in that in Japanese Buddhism skulls and bones are symbolic of impermanence, not death.
My theory:
The girl is depressed after the breakup and, as I read in another comment here, she attempts suicide each time the chorus comes, but always fails because someone comes to save her. Also in the end she was trying to grab something which was probably the guy)
I think the song is called "Otome Dissection" because otomes are games about "perfect love lives" which means she treated her relationship like an otome, thinking it was never going to end, and that's why she felt like that after the breakup.
Hope you like my theory~ (and that anyone will see it lol)

Ah, I've had a theory about this song ^^ I knew you would turn up covering it !! I'm so happy.
A lot of people think this girl is suicidal, I don't think that's entirely the case. My perspective of the song is of a girl who toys with her emotions too much and not realizing that she's hurting herself, which is something I have felt a lot. The more the other person draws themselves back, the more it hurts, but as DECO*27 has displayed in a lot of his recent songs, the protagonist never usually feels one specific way about something, and this song isn't any different as it shows that even though the girl feels so much pain from playing and pretending, she still seems to enjoy it. How is she toying with her emotions exactly? Making jokes out of them and such. Playing games like "Hey, do you like me?" and retreating with a laugh and stuff. Not to mention, when she isn't stepping her boundaries, she is talking the same old same old and nothing changes. It's complicated, but analyzing the lyrics I can't imagine the song is basically just about suicide, even when the graphics and lyrics toy with that theme. Maybe the skeletons represent her true feelings, that's why she is constantly dancing with them. Someone in a sub video said the flowers may represent deception or something, I don't remember so I can't validate. While these experiences can make you want to die, maybe, certainly if it hurts enough. But all in all I believe the song is just about denying your true feelings every time you get close to them, getting bored, losing the other, getting hurt. I guess it's hard to really shorten it down since theres so much you can get into ^^;
I really hope you see this if it clears up things for you !!
DECO*27 seems to write songs about a lot of the things I've felt before. t's scary isn't it? LOL ♥️

This world needs more Deco and Rachie followers. Love this cover 🤙
2:04 I love how you an actually hear a "Hey, won't you love me?" under the actual lyrics, edited like a phone call. Really cool little detail.
The mentions of shame , pain that feels good, the lines:
"all of this sickening hurting, come have a taste you deserve it, every emotion I wanted to share by your side, now it's love I want to cut from my life."
I think it's about the girl feeling neglected by her lover and the feeling that they're cheating.
I don't know why I get all smart at night. )
"spice from life" it could be something exciting like an adventure or something interesting (or something i shall not mention).

Feels like this song is about self harm and extreme/violent intrusive thoughts.
@@eevee2Glacia this is officially my interpretation of this song now. Excellent work

Wow, That's a lot and I understood it.
this is all hercule’s fault.
@@lymau744 yeah, he better not save her at all, right?))
Interesting... what about the bag closing on her at the end? Have an opinion on that?
@@fedechan6325 Honestly, I never thought about it, but it seems the general consensus is that it symbolizing her actually dying at the end, so maybe she "went to join her boyfriend".
So basically a rachel gardner situation
@@dotie_sue Essentially, yeah. More mental than actually keeping his corpse though, by my guess.

GIRL, THOSE HIGH NOTES I-
And the translation?!
Late but have a great day/night to u too
This is a beautiful cover.
3:15 When you figure out that your body has bones
3:09 Best part :)
Her face was just like, "OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, SO THAT'S HOW IT WORKS."
Instead of slicing other people I prefer slicing pizza
The Tired Artist #PizzaTime
But one day her lover leaves or is killed, throwing her over the edge and driving her to finally commit suicide.
lmao

Как же я тебя понимаю
(A lot of the visuals is just her wandering alone throughout the
The visuals at 3:03 and 3:14 are harder to explain but these can be referring to:
1) the girl putting herself in dangerous/deadly situations so that their SO will save them, become infatuated with her and suddenly want a romantic relationship (kinda like an otome game).
2) OR the skeleton ends up being her afterlife self and she’s reliving/watching all the times she’s broken down and tried her hurt herself over the feelings she’s hated so much (i think this is the correct one tbh)
I do have one question: does anyone know what the name of that fruit that was in the video? It has to have some symbolism that I’m not picking up.
Edit: How could I forget to say this - Rachie your vocals are so good TT~TT ily. Also David's lyrics are bomb, they were great for analyzing!
A lyric I found interesting the more I thought about it was:
Come gather ‘round we’re slicing her open - Probably a double (or more) meaning. Could refer to autopsy cutting people open, reveling all the girl's shame or the girl's gradual breakdown
Nwater Melonz Thanks!
I Agree with the second one, there's a part in the vid where she's looking in the water and her reflection is the red Skeleton.
Something interesting is that she may have only had 1 or 2 attempts,
she crosses the street to the red Skeleton so she may have just been thinking about how getting run over could be effective.
Her holding out her arm may not have been an attempt but a gearing up for one.
Now a different comment mentioned how the word Otome meant Virgin.
What if the line Come Gather 'Round We're Slicing Her Open
Was the Dissection of her Virginity and That's the Shame that's eating her up.
And because of that she might be with a different guy each time the chorus comes in.
And each time the chorus comes in she hates herself a little more until death is the only thing that can free her in her mind.
Though I could be way off as well and making the song needlessly darker than needed lol ^^;

That high note just hit the spot. It was done perfectly

YES I LOVE THIS SONG! Your covers never disappoint~ i love the energy you put into the chorus too
So here's my theory slash interpretation of the song (?)
The girl has either broken up with her partner and is still obsessing over them or used to be someone's fling and her 'partner' later on realized that this is not what they wanted for some reason and dumped her but she is still in love with / obsessing over them.
She is portrayed as 'lovesick' (I don't really like using that term)
She doesn't seem to know how to handle this, living without her beloved one is pointless, she can't get them off her mind and everything else seems very much shallow and bleak.
(Unless?)
Now for the fling version, I assume they either 1.
All she deemed important is flashing in front of her eyes
She sees them slipping out of her hands.

OkaaAAY so my own theory from what I could gather in the video
The girl fetishize about death, you can see multiple crime scene symbols. Idk m8
Kids these days and their weird death kinks--
Idk why but I want to see this as a comic. *this isnt a joke.* 😈
Otome dissection in Nutshell
Girl:I guess I'll die 🤔
This is one of those songs that your just like "oh yeah, this exists".
Heck yeah! I'm glad someone sent me a link to this song, I've been waiting for some translations, but heck yeah! This is better thank you to the person who sent me this.
I don't think I should have listened to this 😅 it reminds me of the past, which I don't necessarily want to remember. But still an amazing song.
1:08 ya pa pa pa
声がめっちゃ好き❤
That high notes are life!!💜
Notifs worked this time!! Yey!! >:33

But man...the lyrics have some powerful meaning and the animation....my hairs are pointing up because of the chill.
latterly just jamming while playing a game then slowly realizing what is being said :,)
i like she saying "Yapapapa"
Why do I feel like I can relate with this music?
I just can put the music and my life together and It's not far away from eachother, matching with my feelings, life, people and even my paranoias.
Idk how, it just does.
Honestly same
So, like, I was listening to Rachie and wondering when she was going to put another song up and then *THIS* JEWEL UPLOADED AND I'M SCARED IF RACHIE MIGHT BE READING MY MIND
slicing の発音すっげえ好き
I always get the goosebumps when she sings the high notes..... QwQ
語りかけてくる感じがとても…かわいい…!!
My vocal cords snapped trying to reach those
high notes but it was worth it
I think this song is about someone who got so bored of life that they decided to fall into the darkest parts of it.
I am ashamed that I did
Now for some symbolism theory no one asked about:
I feel like this girl is in love with the concept of death.
Hey so uh i just relapsed into s/h while listening to this and that's bad and horrible and all but slashing my own arm wide fuckin open right at that "I'm praying for peace of miiiind" just unlocked some new fuckin emotions
i come back to this exact cover when 2 years its become a tradition
Rachie's Deco*27 covers are the best. Her voice just suits his songs
You know when you mix rachie and juby cover it sounds really awesome XD
海外の方がボカロを歌ってくれて嬉しいです🥰🥰
英語でも歌えるように練習します💕
世界のみんなにボカロが味わえるなんていいよねー
🎉🎉🎉
I do agree with the popular theory(the top comment currently has details about it) With the skeleton that always appears in the chorus could be the people that keep saving her. However at the end the skeleton breaks which could show that they left and thats when she finally dies. (Probably doesn't make sense but just my two cents)
Thank you! I enjoy singing this!!!
I FOUND THE ORIGINAL VIDEO YESTERDAY! I couldn’t find an English version, YOU CAME IN CLUTCH RACHIE!
Didn't expect rachie would cover this 😭❤️
I just listened to the original of this song like a couple days ago and was blasting it in my room when I got the notification and started screaming
YES OMG I SAW THIS SONG THE MOMENT IT FIRST GOT RELEASED AND IVE BEEN WAITING FOR AN ENGLISH COVER OF THIS THANK YOU
Ooh this song is a bop😲 I loved the mv art style too!! Great cover Rachie❤️
I can't stop listening to this-
If you guys want to discuss the meaning the song, I suggest looking at a literal English translation instead of a cover (which can sometimes be liberal with the meaning for the sake of rhymes).
I am being hypnotized by the sweet voice of you and the way you sing it>
Stealing my wig as per usual
In my opinion, I think she's talking about how she's 'disecting her feelings' like she's never been in love before and she's kinda mad about it..??? IDK that's just the feeling I get! This cover is amazing! Can't stop coming back to listen to this! I love it so much!!
I've been waiting a while for there to be an English cover of this song!
