Standing Pilates for Arthritis | 20 Minute Gentle Warm Up and Workout

- Join me for a 20 minute standing pilates session for arthritis. This session contains gentle mobilisation and warm up exercises ideal to help ease the aches and pains of early stage arthritis. It is ideal to do first thing in the morning when you're feeling a little stiff and achey as well as a great pre warm before your regular exercise.

It's wonderful to have a teacher who is not afraid to say she made a mistake. Very few small ones, though. I always feel much better after these sessions. I've had a lot of yoga and exercise teachers in my nearly 79 years. Rachel is so good at giving clear directions and explaining what each movement will do for you.
I just found you a few days ago. I'm 70 years old and have arthritis. This workout, and the one for hips, is amazing! I do it first thing in the morning and feel better all day. Thank you so much!

Thank you for your fabulous videos! I too just found you... 77 years young... I was recently injured in a car accident which aggravated past spinal fusions and a broken hand. This is exactly what I've been looking for a more gentle approach...surpasses results from prescribed PT sessions!!!!
Just loving the gentle workouts with you. I'm 66 years old and have always enjoyed exercising but was diagnosed with arthritis last year and found my old routines very painful. This session just eases the stiffness out of my whole body.
Although I don't have an arthritis diagnosis my joints creak, click and ache. Pilates has helped immensely and this session is a nice wake up session. Once again Rachel has come up trumps.

Salut! I am back after 40 sessions of hip physiotherapy focusing on the left hip, the painful piriformis. Nice and gentle, I was able to perform this 20minutes standing routine with you. Thanks for the encouragement!

Perfect. I have severe knee arthritis and difficult to stand on my left leg. But this was doable.
Just coming out of 1st RA flareup so grateful to have found the girl with a mat! 5x per week as my joints increase in ability to release . Does ease the chronic pain as I adjust to living with RA

Hi. Found that session v relaxing and easing slight stiffness especially in the back and neck. Felt I had a top to bottom work out. Always feels good to breathe in rhythm with the movements. Thank you so much.

My husband and I do this most mornings before breakfast. It gets all our aches and pains moving. We have been doing it since it first came online. Highly recommended for those who find normal pilates a bit too much for arthritic joints.
Looking for a similar GWTPM 20 mins routine for arthritic joints to ring the changes now.

I have not found one of your workouts that I don't like. I even work on the roll ups though I have a rod in my spine that makes those difficult. This one was especially nice after a HIIT workout that I did.

Amazing energetic way to start the day. I find that I struggle with exercises involving the shoulder (e.g. side plant) as my shoulder fatigues/starts paining on the 2nd or 3rd repetition. In the future if you are brainstorming, would you consider a video or series for strengthening the shoulder

thank you Rachel. I've just resumed your standing for seniors sessions - 5 months after total knee replacement. The chair exercises are also brilliant so I'm trying to progress. Lots of scar tissue and swelling unfortunately. I don't know how I'd manage without your wonderful home workouts. Happy New Year.

That was absolutely lovely - I haven’t been diagnosed with arthritis, but definitely get a stiff lower back and hips. Perfect for a sunny Sunday afternoon when I wanted to do something, but not too vigorous or 🥵! Gets me moving, feeling warm and gently stretched out, thanks. I save the tough strength and cardio videos for weekdays!
