He recorded everything, every time, hrs and hrs of recording, for many years. He wasnt working, so probably he was selling the videos online. Its hard to believe that the mother wasn't aware. Even, when she was gone, she lied in multiple occasions. I believe the mother is involved and others as well.

@bettywillbrowse There were numerous videos and hundreds of pics in this sick bastards phone. He attempted a "factory reset" to hide it but was unsuccessful. I also don't believe that she sent her friend that text message about moving into the woods. I think he sent it. He had to have been monitoring her phone

The mom is guilty as hell. She will be next in jail. While LE was still investigating, she went on Facebook and changed her name so people could not find her. Who does that? If she loved her daughter, she would want more people to reach out to her to help finding the person who did this to her daughter instead of hiding and comforting her animal (boyfriend).

It sounds as if the Mother was in total denial....Statics indicate a Child is 20 times more likely to be abused or harmed by a Man living in the Home that is not her Father. The Mother failed her daughter miserably and it not only cost this precious Child her life....but she suffered horrific abuse and torture for years.
Wonder if this State has the Death Penalty....obviously these monsters don't fear Prison.

I'm sure she knew something was wrong. I mean here's my question if she was watching her daughter get dressed that morning then why didn't she just take her to school she was awake, and home right? Well maybe not. Why wouldn't Madeline just get on the bus, walk to school, or take her bike if it was close enough, she wouldn't need a ride. And how convenient, that exact day she happened to forget her cell phone, thus, no tracking
Maddie wasn't really living in Hunters Creek. I think they used grandmother's houae/address. Why wasn't she going to school in Kissimmee?
Anne, I agree with you I am a mother and trust me if you are intuned with your kids emosional wellbeing you would know if something is wrong specially their behaviour. Surely her mom could have picked up something is wrong in 6 years, maybe she was in denial alot of people are. I taught my daughter from a very young age that no one touches you not granpa, not dad, not friends nothing. From as little as 2 years old, we live in a sick world you need to prepare your kids for it. When I was younger child molestation was NEVER TALKED about, it was swept under the carpet.
I have an 11 yr old daughter with my ex, I now live with my current partner and we also have a 4 yr old boy together, and even tho I fully trust my partner & know he'd never hurt my daughter, I have still acted as tho I'm a single mother when it comes to my daughter, as in, I don't leave her alone with my current partner for any extended periods of time , if I'm going out then she comes with me even if I'm leaving our son home with him etc etc, just in case, bcoz even tho I know I can trust him with her I just think about all the mums who also fully believed they knew their new boyfriends &could trust them but then turns out he was abusing the kid or kills them etc. So just to be safe I do this even tho people think I'm being silly, idc, not worth chancing it if I don't need to. She also has a lock on her bedroom door so she can lock herself in at night (I have the key to her room so i can get in anytime), can't hurt to just have the extra precautions coz you never know what unexpected situation might occur by chance at some point.
I watch too much true crime so I'm a bit extra cautious now when it comes to my kids 😂😊😊❤❤
Single moms never learn. I'm sorry but every year there's numerous stories like this and the mom tries to make herself the victim instead of the child.

I have no sympathy for any of her family members. They all failed her. It's disgusting to think that this poor girl was being assaulted for years and not one family member knew and tried to help. They are all worthless, especially her mother, and father!!!
Alot of people failed her, but let’s not put blame on her father in this ugly tragic case He drove straight through the night to assist in finding her. She would 💯 be alive if her Dad had custody of her and let’s not forget that. . This went on for years, there had to be red flags and people who knew something, but nobody was her advocate and that’s a heartbreaking crime in itself. Dance with the Angels beautiful Maddie. You are loved by many people who never met you.

Here’s my opinion. Maddie was being sexually assaulted by Stephen. She threatened him to stop or she would tell her mother. And then this is what happened. I could be all wrong, but I don’t think I’m far off.
Maddie would only sleep with her mom or grandmother that’s how bad he traumatized her to the point he had apparently moved out. He was probably scared she would tell a friend or teacher.

I think he drugged her and she overdosed. Or she was pregnant and they tried an at home abortion that killed her. Whatever happened I don't think the murder was intentional. The mother should be charged also she is a lair she said we drop her off and seen her walking away then we drove off, in her interview with the reporter she knew her daughter was dead, if my child is missing I would be hysterical crying I probably would never be able to do an interview, and all those so call tears was fake.she is a desperate sorry mother who allowed this person to rape her daughter starting at 8 years old, every mother knows when there is something wrong with there children, I hope she gets arrested very soon.

IMO the autopsy will reveal why. I suspect she was pregnant and SS or JS freaked out. JS, i won’t call her mother because that is an honor and my opinion is SHE KNEW he was abusing Maddie. She knew and allowed it to keep him around.

I don't know whether or not this mother knew what happened, but what I do know is that because of the frequency and severity of the abuse this mother ignored red flags.

Could be that the mother killed her and the boyfriend or husband is taking the rap. Or he killed her and the mother is staying shut. Either way in my opinion they are both guilty.
