In the book, she doesn't get hit by a car, she gets in a car accident while riding in the taxi. The taxi driver is killed and the car goes off a bridge into water. Everyone should read the novel. In the series, when Anueng is sitting at the pool talking with Chet, this is meant to cover the part of the novel when Chet and Anueng slightly conspire or at least don't work against each other in order to get what they both want which is Khun Nueng to be there. In the novel, this is a clear tacit understanding in which Chet calls Khun Nueng to say how depressed and sad Anueng is which makes Khun Nueng want to come and Chat flies her there. In this version, Anueng and Chet are basically pretending that Anueng has run away again. They don't show it, but the only way that Anueng ends up at Khun Nueng's old place would be if Chet brought her there. This is why Chet has the ring ready to propose. Anueng of course had no idea about that because they each are pretending that they want her there for a different reason. This is just one of many, many aspects of this story that is really not evident in the series mostly because of time, but also because in drama you really need to have Chet be more of a bad guy than what he really is, which is mostly just stupid. In this case, the sweet little scene the series created is far better than what was in this novel when Khun Nueng and Anueng meet up when she gets there. [you really don't want to know what they were doing lol] It went way beyond biting. Another really big that that gets lost in the series is how much time is passing by this point in the story. Basically Anueng has been spending most nights with Khun Nueng at the palace for the better part of a year. Again, it is much better to have read the novel and then to watch the series. Everyone should read the novel and then rewatch the series. It will be a different story for you.
