Born and raised in Whittier. Whittier is alright.. There are some trails, and it’s relatively mellow here. South Whittier can get a little bad, so just keep your cool, mind your own business, don’t stare/act tough and you’ll be fine. Uptown is chill, some of the bars are quite decent. Otherwise Whittier itself is fairly boring, not too much to do. One thing that’s nice about Whittier is its location, you’re a 30-40 min drive to most all of the surrounding major areas. Los Ángeles, Orange County, inland empire, and the beach. Another thing I will say though, is that so many people around the LA/OC area tend to be connected to Whittier in some way or another. And comparing even to LA, some of the best, chillest, most artistic, and most real/humble people I’ve ever met were here in Whittier. Hella pricey now though.
