- What Really Happens When You Go Under Anesthesia
What really happens when you go under anesthesia? This video explains what the body and brain experience before, during, and after anesthesia, breaking down how consciousness fades, awareness shuts off, and time perception disappears. We explore how anesthetic drugs affect the brain, why anesthesia is different from sleep or a coma, and whether people can hear, feel pain, or remember anything while under. You’ll also learn what happens to breathing, reflexes, and memory, and why waking up can feel confusing, emotional, or disorienting. Using simple medical explanations and real-world understanding, this video clears up common fears and misconceptions about anesthesia. If you’ve ever wondered what going under anesthesia feels like, what the brain is doing during surgery, or why recovery can feel strange afterward, this video offers calm, educational insight into what happens inside your body and mind.

@dogluvr3445Then what's up with his hands??
You told me more than anyone told me during any of my surgeries.
Sad commentary on the ¨profession¨ that they prefer the patients to be uninformed and compliant. I was married to a physician who had for years assisted in many, many full anesthesia surgeries of all types in a military hospital. He did in office surgeries himself later, but using only LOCAL anesthesia and commented how MOST use of general anesthesia is unnecessary but is done because physicians don´t want to be bothered with learning how to block only the correct nerve pathways to the surgical site. He said orthopedists were the worst to rely on general anesthesia when local anesthesia would have been enough, and safer. But most orthopedists couldn´t be bothered to learn where those nerve pathways were. He told way more of the truth than this Ay Eye guy with the God complex. I don´t say this because my ex was an honorable guy. He wasn´t. He thought it was humorous how the surgeons would joke about having to adjust the timing of their incisions with the DT´s that the assisting surgeons were displaying from binge drinking the night before. When an annoying surgical patient asked too many questions or complained too much, the entire surgical team would often laugh, ramp up the anesthesia, saying ¨good night¨ so that the team could continue the procedure more quickly, and the joking around without interruption.
I knew it was a very serious thing to go under but just how serious it is , I never knew until now . Thank God for well trained medical staff .
God isn't real. Thank the real Professionals that dedicated their lives to education and working in the medical field.
ABSOLUTELY, AND I HAD THE BEST THANK GOD. TAKE CARE❤
@TruthHurtsSomet1m3sIt was God who created them and gave them the skills.
@briangibbs3774 It was God who created them, it was they who got educated and learned the skills!
@TruthHurtsSomet1m3sstop spreading misinformation
My sister, the RN would tell me the most important person you wanna talk to before surgery is the anesthesiologist.
Truth!
I said the same thing
That's what they told me after my anesthesiologist left my room pre surgery, and turns out he was the one dr I felt compelled to detail all of my concerns about receiving donated blood. I begged him to please push me to the limit, then push me some more, that I wanted to avoid donated blood at all costs. He thanked me "for making it very clear how I felt" about everything. 😊❤ the first thing they told me when I came to is that I didn't have to have any donated blood during my open heart surgery. I was so relieved!
Talk about?
No-CRNA
I have had 15 surgeries since 2013 and 13 of them on my heart. And I have never had any negative experiences and I am still here obviously.
Bless you thanks for sharing
I went into hospital after triple bypass 2 years ago. I called 911 and they took ok me for observation. . I had a noisy neighbor scare me at 3 am and my heart was beating so bad that I was afraid I was having another heart attack. I was kept for observation? I didn't know WHO MY DOCTOR WAS! ALL OF THEM HAD TESTS AND TOO MANY DOCTORS TO COUNT. NURSE male WillI TOOK MANUAL AND MACHINE BP.! Then came the pills without an explanation !! Best conclusion high blood pressure. I didn't like meds without explanations !??? I believe I had a panic attack! I don't believe I needed all of the tests they gave me. They did every test in the book. I believe they did it for padding their bill!!!😮
Thank you and God bless ❤
💖
13 surgeries on your heart holy crap. I had seven in my lower back and I thought I was gonna die and you had them in your heart. God bless you. Hope you’re feeling well.
WHAT A BIG RESPONSIBILITY!!!!!!!!
What an immense job!!!!!!
Absolutely
Paid well for the job
they do
100%
And they are paid a lot of money because of that. But they still make mistakes…
That's why they make super big bucks.
It is very enlightening about the things that happens to you while going under. A big thank you to all the Anesthesiologist out there. This is going to sound strange, but i have been put under a number of times sometimes twice in one year for removal of stones, and other surgeries, but was never afraid to go to sleep and to wake up. I trust that God and the Anesthesiologist will take care of me.
Don't forget about our Guardian Angels ❤❤
Amen!
True 🙏😇🧚♀️🧚♀️💚🩵⭐️⭐️⭐️🌟🌟
Kidney stones is caused by vegetables. All vegetation has a defense mechanism to prevent them from being eaten, they produce toxins called oxalates, they are in crystal form, they get into your blood and draws calcium from your blood, which then creates Kidney stones. But because your blood is now depleted from calcium, your blood replaces it by drawing it out of your bones, causing weak bones. They tell us the eat less meat but to eat more vegetables for a reason.
A strick fatty red meat carnivore diet, and eggs, cures every illness known to man, from stage 4 cancer, heart disease, diabetes, ms, eye issues, skin issues, hair issues and obesity problems. Cholesterol, which is animal fat and eggs, doesn't cause heart disease, diabetes causes heart disease, and sugar, carbs and vegetables causse diabetes. Cholesterol feeds your brain cells and also reverses alzheimer's, parkinsons disease and dementia. Vegetables are full of fibre that can't be digested and clogs your nutrition channels in your stomach. Some of the fibre goes to your colon and is converted into glucose. Glucose, sugar and carbs feeds cancer.
I've always thought that I was just going into a deep-sleep but after hearing you explain exactly what happened to me when I went into surgery for hysterectomy that it doesn't scare me I'm glad to know what exactly happens I've never had any problem going under for anything But I do believe you should always be totally up front with what really does happen I think it's important to know
Thank you for keeping us alive
Thank the team of professionals who cared for you not AI
Refreshing to know there are still some doctors who are knowledgeable, skilled and truly care about their patients.
You mean AI?
This video is fairly informative, but if you watch his hands, they stay very still for quite a while and that makes me wonder if this whole video is AI!
@exoticcorvettesfunny...I'm watching & his hands are moving constantly...same motion over & over ! BS !
Dang! You need to Doctor shop, for real...
@RoseRavaux Are you watching this video? Those hands are like still picture.
His hands are still under anesthesia 😂
I've had about 6 surgeries and thankfully, I've never been afraid of the anesthesia part.
I was never afraid u til my second C-section went horribly wrong. I wasn’t numb like I should have been. I told my dr when he walked in and asked if I was ready, I told him I didn’t feel like the meds had numbed me. He ignored me, as soon as he started cutting me open I screamed, it was a cold sharp pain. He yelled put her under general. Knocked me out completely, but I was aware of them shoving the tube down my nose and forcing oxygen mask on my face. I was fighting them.
@YaYaPaBlathat Dr was evil
I was put under for about 16 hours due to a fall that broke my neck & all the little fingers that stick out off the vertebraes, doctors actually was holding my neck in their hands cleaning all the fragments out of the body, that's a long ass time being under. Walked out 9 days later wearing a halo.
I have had over 60 surgeries. You know when they say there is a thing called knowing too much.
Fascinating comment…
Please make videos on what you know too much abput guessing sirit realms ro what.?
I love going under. I have anxiety, depression etc etc. it's the only time I'm free of worldly things.
I hear you
Me too ❤
😢😢
Exactly! I feel some peace that I never ever feel and it’s so nice to be asleep. I’m away from it. I know how you feel.
I can't imagine
Thank you I’ having volvaplasty hopefully very soon
Best of luck!
I wasn't scared. God went in with me and came out with me.❤
Amen
I agree
AMEN 🙏
I’ve had a total of 9 surgeries throughout my years and GOD has definitely been there and helped me through each and everyone of them, and I am very grateful and thankful for him 😊
Amen!!!!
That’s my thought as well. God is in control.
Wow. People think about how important a judge or teachers job is but this man this professional has taken you to the closet state before death and brings you back. I use to love going under because it was the only true rest I could ever get but never fully understood how dangerous and complex this was.
Its AI!!! It's not a man for chrissakes
@ThunderCapM I came to say the same thing.
You must be over extended.
@erwinbrubacker7488hardly just work 24 7 so my kids can have everything
Me too
50 years old and I yet have never been under and hopefully I never will
I love getting knocked out. I get knocked out every 5 years. If I should die that would be the best way to go
What pisses me off is that medical staff gives patients consent forms to sign after they have been medicated. That should be illegal.
And it’s always I’m a rush, oh, the surgeon’s are ready for you now, we have to move quick, their waiting, quick sign here.
Those forms you signed my friend for your legal protection
It’s illegal to sign any consent when medicated with drugs that cause any mental state that questions your ability to fully understand why or what you signing a consent.
Yeah, I noticed that part two and I was like how could that be legal?
@gustavomackdaddy7800
You should always have full consciousness when signing any document. To give you a document while you’re starting to go under anesthesia is illegal. Even if it is for your benefit it’s still illegal
The Anesthesiologist is one of the most important roles in surgery. I am not afraid of it, God has me!
Amen🙏
This happened to my sister, went through the whole surgery, between awake and sedation. She told the doctor, who worked on her everything he said.....he was floored...😢
Way to tell artificial intelligence something real that happened to a family member. 😂
I bet he was
The times I've been under general anesthesia have been medically uneventful. It just feels like a lovely true rest to me.
Although i have to disagree about rest, because thats just how we "think" consciencley as a human. I don't think the mind is able to comunicate with the brain once we are put under. The mind thinks and the brain recieves and sends out, but the receptors are not in a state to respond when put under. It's like being knocked out by a strong punch or hit to the head or in an accident. You become unconsience, the brain is not responding because of the trauma.
We are in a coma state in a helpless situation in a brain accident or when we are put under. We as a person do not exist without our receptors working for us and when the brain is being manipulated by drugs and such we cease to exist. We don't rest unless our brain is aware of it...
I tried to edit but it won't let me. "Consciousley" is the word i wanted to correct 👍🙏🏼
Are the brain and the mind two seperate beings? I would think so. When we think to ourselves, is it our mind talking? Or our brain? Because remember the brain recieves and sends out. Our mind sends messages to our brain in which it recieves and sends out to "respond"....teleport, telecomunication, brainwaves responding ...
maybe im thinking too much into it 🙂❤🙏🏼
Heaven is a Must!!!!!!!
Repent, for the Kingdom of God is at hand.
Accept Yeshua as your Lord and Saviour!!!!
Dear Lord Jesus Christ,
I know that I am a sinner. I am weak but you are strong. I want to turn from my sins, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe that Jesus Christ is my Lord and Personal Saviour. I believe you died for my sins and that You rose from the dead to life. I want you to come into my heart and take control of my life. I trust Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and will follow Him as my Lord from this day forward. In Jesus’ Name, Amen
I must admit, as someone who’s pretty much always in pain, I look forward to that break from pain for a little while, even if I’m unable to truly appreciate it while it’s happening!
Thank you Dr AI. you're putting me to sleep right now.
😁
Truly ai . Look the hands stop moving .
😂😂
That’s what I was gonna say that’s pretty good AI
No normal blink at all.
I have always felt closer to death when feeling that burn in my veins. But if death finds me in my sleep, I’m getting off easy.
@janeywe...•
I agree with you..
My thoughts exactly.🫠
Janey, ask the doctor to give you something before going into the OR. You won't remember anything that happens after that.
I really appreciate your honest and straightforward explanations. I’ve had more than a dozen surgeries, ask a lot of questions, but now have a much fuller understanding. I once had one vocal cord damaged during intubation and it took a couple of months to get my voice back. But I am grateful for all the things anesthesiologists have done right in my care.
You are so welcome!
I've had over twenty surgeries to me.It's easy.I just go to sleep and wake up.
I've had a bad experience under anesthesia when I was in the operating room. I had to undergo c-section with my twins. The anesthesiologist didn't give me enough to where I could feel the cutting. That was the most scariest moment of my life.
Was it a spinal?
Zylocaine didn't work for me and after a normal birth I felt and described to the doctor (who couldn't believe it was happening) every pass he made through my delicate place!!
@iamcoreilly You are not making sense. Did you have a normal birth? or did you have surgery?
@Ariella-u9v Normal, but they cut me and had to sew it closed after the birth.
@iamcoreilly
An a episiotomy; sounds as if it was done at the wrong time. A local is not given. It should have been done at the height of a contraction with the head at full pressure on the perineum then you would not have felt it.
It is not done beforehand as until then it is not known if you will need one.
I'm A 13 Year Stage III Breast Cancer Survivor. I Have Been Put Under So Many Times, That I Have Lost Count. As Crazy As It Sounds I Always Look Forward To Being Put Under, It's So Peaceful. One Second You Are Here And The Next Second You Are Not. You Just Fade Too Black. You Simply Are No Longer Here, In The Conscious World. Then You Simply Find Yourself Being Awaken And Fully Aware Of Your Surroundings, Without A Memory Of Anything...Peace And Blessings!💙
That's how I've always felt too. I liked being put under. I'm not scared cause even if I do die I'll never know the difference anyways. I just make sure I tell everyone I love them and I'll see them on the other side if it don't work out. 🤷
@41663me too
I can relate.
Can I prey for you
I agree been under 5 x’s. Well they induced a coma on 2 due to 12 hrs + surgery time.
I had gallbladder surgery and didn’t know how much and how important the person behind the anesthesia was . I am grateful for their knowledge, to take care of us patient’s . I’ve had two surgeries in my life . I’m 79 years. I thank God for all you do , also all who is involved in doing surgeries. God bless you all. This video was very informative . ❤️🙏🏼 anesthesia has always been relaxing to me and hopefully will continue to be . Thank you Dr. Trask
I agree.
I was one of the unfortunate ones to wake up during surgery at the V.A. hospital while getting a hysterectomy. I tried to talk to the doctor about it but left the room when I brought it up. I was terrified and confused but I thank you so much for explaining it so clearly.
I woke up in the middle of my tonsilectomy when I was 7 and anyone talking surgery for me scares the living hell out of me now.
@mclary9808 I, too, had my tonsils taken out before I started Kindergarten in the early 70s. I woke up in my room, and I sat up and then came my grandmother walking into the room and I started vomiting up blood everywhere. It was like an Exorcist Scene 😂 and as I was vomiting allover the bed my grandmother fainted falling onto the floor and for some reason I watching her pass out and seeing her fall was the most hilarious thing 😂😂😂 I actually don't know why and I wasn't afraid of the blood coming up and seeing it allover the bed 🤔😅 I remember Doctors coming in seeing what happened, but I don't recall what happened next??? I just know that it took a lot longer for me to recover, and my throat hurt like hell 🔥🤪😂😅😆
I have to give thanks for this video. I don’t give a darn if it’s AI bc I’ve work in surgery Dept’s., including burns over 30 yrs. I’ve also been under anesthesia more times than I can remember in my senior years. I’ve never known actually what happens to the body. I was under for
9 hrs (broken femur with bilateral hip replacements) and when I came out of it I was ready to jump off the table! The nurses had to lay on top of me to keep me from busting my stitches! (That’s how good they were). But I never knew exactly how my body was maintained and survived. I had utmost respect for those who kept me alive and cared about their profession to do it perfectly with minimal adjustments. I am grateful to God and those in the health care field. I understand what it takes , hard work, painstaking attention to detail, and relating each procedure to transcription. Thanks again. Gotta count my blessings.👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🙏🏽💯👋🏽
My goodness, I hope you have fully recovered!😮
Nice!! Good job guys!! I've been under anethesia a few times, and for me, every time has felt like one minute has gone by between before I became unconscious and when I hear staffers calling my name to wake up. I feel like I wanna go back to sleep because it was a super short powerful nap. Not bad at all, thank God!!
Yep. Me too
,,,,you are lucky,,some of us wake up mighty drunk and drooly full of cursess suffering from a hell of need of water which when denied makes your day the worsed experience you ever had😮
@Inagole4233Sorry to hear that!!😕
Went under 12+ times, only once I woke up in the middle of the op. Thank you to all the Anisthesiologist from the bottom of my heart. You guys are wonderful, so caring. I shall always be greatful to you all. Thank you ❤❤❤.
Excellent!
I didn't remember most of it...Only when I woke up in recovery...
I didn’t know this much. Ignorance is bliss ( to me ). I am in awe as how medical research has advanced.
Thank you doctor for providing such a thorough, yet extremely comprehensible and scientific explanation from beginning to end of what happens during anesthesia. I knew some of these things after having several surgeries but didn't know it in this comprehensive format. You do an amazing job explaining it all in very real terms. I have always found anesthesia to be absolutely miraculous. That you can make someone go into that state of numbness with these amazing medications, and then be cut open and whatever else, and have absolutely no pain and no memory from it. I'm absolutely fascinated by it. And you do an absolutely phenomenal job of explaining it all in layman's terms. You're obviously very good at what you do and from the bottom of my heart, I thank you for the explanation and for your expertise of profound wisdom and training
With my last surgery that lasted five hours, I never woke up or heard anything until I was in the elevator going back to my room.
Surgeries before that, I never woke up until I was back in my room and had the doctor, nurses, and my husband yelling at me. Then I woke woke up angry.
Say whaat?
They did whaat??
That sounds abusive?!
I had back surgery last August. I lost 4 days. My husband said I acted like a 6 year old. I have no memory of 4 days, from wheeling into surgery to going to a hospital closer to home. Delusional is what the medical term was. Glad it cleared up!
Very informative.... thanks, I've been under twice for knee replacement surgery,,,no complications....I had two people praying for me before each surgery....🙏
I have been under a handful of times and thought anesthesiologists are like hero’s! So smart that ppl put their lives in the anesthesiologists hands. Thank you for all the knowledge you passed along on this vdo, well now I know. Thank you again ❤
Absolutely!!
My biggest issue was the affect it had R/E cognition
with post operative cognitive
dysfunction and amplification
of mental health issues.
Okay, i'm done, dude nope nope nope.I think I changed my mind
MY MEMORY WAS NEVER QUITE THE SAME AFTER SURGERY.
I wondered if I was the only one. 😮
Same!
Me too
Same here.
People react differently to anesthesia although I've never heard of this problem!
Thank you for the thorough explanation. I’ve never been afraid.
No worries!
Thank you so much! I awoke on the table during a procedure once. I had PTSD for months after this. It was so scary. They had a nurse administering the medicine to keep me asleep and he was over on the same side of the bed as the Dr. when I woke up. I saw what they were doing I reached my arms up to the instruments in my mouth to pull them out and this is how they knew I was awake. It was because I had raised my arms. The Dr. told the nurse he better get back over to his station. Once again I was out. Asleep. I awoke again, this time it was when the nurse was taking me to the recovery room. The nurse pushed the bed I was on into I think ICU the recovery room and I saw him quickly push the bed around the curtain and he quickly dodged his way out of the room. I had no time at all to ask him why he was on the same side of the bed with my Dr. when he was supposed to be administering the anesthesia. When I got home I cried from fear. I was afraid to be awake and I was afraid to fall asleep. I relived this story over and over again. I don’t know when the memory of this finally stopped. I had a couple other experiences too but I won’t go into them. This is enough right here
Similar experience here.
What a brilliant lecturer this doctor is. His presentation was like a wonderful TED talk.
AI
The hands tell me if it’s AI. Notice how they were frozen for the longest time. Still informative tho.
Dr. Trask, this is a great Explanation of a General Anesthesia. I say Thank You for what no Doctor have public Broadcasted before in Person. Yes, with your Job Thousands People stay alive!!
Always love the "we don't know how it works" part.
When they put me out I got to 98, and then I was in recovery.
Medicine doesn't. It's observations and results. It's not science. If it was, every bit would be known in physics and chemistry. But when you're dealing with complex systems, systems have a life all their own. You just track them. Science is writing a specific equation, like you know every part of a computer code. When the computer code comes alive it's a whole new animal. Eventually even the unpredictable is predictable with enough data but we're nowhere near that yet. We yield results by doing and observing results.
Wow! This was VERY helpful. I never realized how complicated and serious and all he had to do during a surgery. I have much more respect for these doctors now and understand why they get paid so well. I used to think it was just putting a mask over your face and that's it. Now I know and am comforted to know so much is being monitored while I "sleep".
Extremely valuable information but now I'm terrified and emotional. Very triggered 😢
I was willing at first to get a shunt but I caught the neurologist and it's department in a lie so I changed my mind
As a kid I woke up during surgery , I had gas . I kept lifting my head up ., they told me not do this . Then I heard them say put him back out . I had nose surgery .
Retired RT here...well done!
Awesome! Thank you!
I didn't know that the human body stops breathing under anesthesia. Your excellent video put a 'whole new spin' on my awareness! Many thanks!
SO COMFORTING...Having Artificial Intelligence explaining that they are "almost" going to KILL ME!😮
I watched until the end and then I watched him closer...his hands done this rhythm " thing "...
And his mouth looked weird...same reactions repeated no variations. It was scarry to hear !
I Was Looking For This Comment! 🤣
The voice is AI and all I needed to know
Listen to the message, not the msgr. He speaks truth & I speak from experience with friends and relatives that have lost a great deal of memory. Read the 1970s book, 'COMA' - written as fiction, but truth about anesthesia!!!!
@park, you're funny, but so right. It took me about 5 min to see he's an ai generated movie. But I'm sure what he's saying is true.
I woke up completely during the end of surgery. I sat up and pulled tube out of my throat. They told me they would have to put me to sleep again to put the tube back in.
When I was under I actually felt the cut of the incision for my c section. It stung. I’ll never forget it!
Same thing happened to me in 1979 having a C-section. Felt everything, was completely paralyzed.
I woke up as a 14 year old getting my tonsils removed. It was terrifying. I realized that my mouth was held opened by something that looked like a bear trap to me. And I was naked with half a dozen people wearing masks. Then the surgeon saw the terror in my eyes. I tried to scream and he began yelling at the anesthesiologist and the anesthesiologist began to panic and yelled back "I thought I had!!" The next thing I knew I awakened in a room with my mother at my side. I wanted to go home immediately.
Same!
It's rare but some people do wake up or can end up hearing and feeling pain. A friend of mine woke up during her hysterectomy. But in a short time she was under again. It's very rare but in countries that are not fully medically educated, where people go for cheaper surgery especially with plastic surgery waking up happens more often.
Why were you naked for a tonsillectomy??? You were 14?
😢 i’m so sorry you had to have that terrifying experience, especially at such a young age. Mistakes happen, but oh my goodness my heart breaks for you as a child.❤
@lizgreer2798
Oh my!😢 i’m not a doctor or of any sort nor in the medical field, but I have volunteered my heart with caregiving for 40 years.. Too old for that now. My heart breaks for you and having such a terrifying experience truly at any age whatever age you were.
I had 14 surgeries from 2019 to 2024 thank God I'm still hear 🙏❤❤🙏
This video gave me a panic attack. I HATE having surgery. I LOVE watching surgeries, but do not like being the patient. 😬
Praying that I am always blessed to have someone like you in the operating room. Thanks for the video. Almost 6 months out of surgery and trying to get it back together.
That was an AI doc
More AI BS!
Heaven is a Must!!!!!!!

What scares me me is that I saw when I was working in the operating room , the anesthesiologist leave to go to another room and a technician came to replace him. A young person who was joking with other staff while she was there. I was scare for the patient.
Yes, exactly! I have seen that done before. I am a RN and went into three different surgeries and I saw the same thing! That is nerve wracking!!!
I've been under several times in my life and never had a problem, but you are making it very scary! I remember when I was young I was aware in surgery but in recent decades you have taken the fun out of it!
Thank you, very informative
So far I've never been afraid going under but having an Anesthesiologist sit with you prior to going into surgery has been the key. My biggest fear at any point was having the tube placed down my throat and being awake when they did it but being told that it's done after you are under took care of that concern. Since it's been experience has taught me it's in and out w/o my knowledge. I am thankful for the time and explanation of Anesthesiologists. They more than anyone else have always made me feel comfortable about my surgeries. Thank you for your thoroughness in going over the procedure.
For me, after a heart bypass, a lifelong phobia of death vanished. Under anesthesia is close to mimicking a complete non-existence of self. I physically recovered, but having no fear of death afterward was the biggest mental boost of my life.
Same here!
I had an arm operation, I’d never been in hospital before, the guy said if you feel woozy it’s just me putting this into your arm, I said ok👍, the next thing I was aware of I was sitting upright trying to vomit into a kidney bowl!!, I thought WTF is going on, then I saw the drain in my arm and realised the operation had been done, I don’t remember anything about a tube being taken out and all that, it took a few weeks to sort of come to the realisation that it wouldn’t have mattered if I had died because I wouldn’t know anything about it, when I went back for a check up I asked the consultant vascular surgeon to thank all of the team for me.
How do you know if both are related? Could be two different experiences.
@spirituallyrich1744 you'll just need to wait and see. Either a nothingness forever, or nothingness until a somethingness is sensed later.
Going under for a procedure soon. Thank you for going over the process. I am glad I will not remember anything. I have sleep apnea and restless leg syndrome (the reason they are going to put me under). The procedure requires me to be still and completely calm/relaxed/not moving at all. What they are going to do scares me to death, so will the results. I ask you to pray before putting me under that everything goes well. I will continue to pray before, during and after for you, me, the doctors and nurses....Yes, I am scared. God Bless you. If I see anyone I know on the other side I will let you know what they have to say. Thank you!
I’ll be praying for you, sir, may the Lord bless your health care team and guide your surgeon with precision. May you have full recovery and healing to be fully restored in your health. Thank you Jesus, Amen! 🙏🏻
your calling is such a blessing ,I imagine you do believe in Him
Thank You A.I. for teaching me about this
Our pleasure!
I believe n having neat death experiences while under anesthesia. Ive had it twice.
Hes being honest and informative ty dr
that stuff they had me breathing I felt like my breathing was going to stop
My friend passed away on the second aneurysm surgery about anesthesia. We were devastated.
I had 10 surgeries about different health issues and always scares me but I have faith in the work team and
God. Thanks for your tremendous Job 🙏
That was an awesome presentation, Never knew they were there the WHOLE time. Quite comforting! Thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Highly Appreciated!🙏
Dr. Trask:
I have had surgeries where I was awake and others I was put to sleep. My first major surgery, I was never aware that I would stop breathing. Thank you for your valuable information since I will be facing more surgery soon!!
There is no doctor Trask, what you saw and heard was a computer generated AI. Somebody wrote the script, software did the rest.
@dipaoloboatactually, that's an obviously AI written script as well. But I think the information was good.
@MaternalUnit I agree. I've been through it many times and finally I have a good understanding of what I went through.
I’m getting surgery soon this is making me more anxious 😢
1 Corinthians 7:32
Thank you for your caring & watching over us. ❤
I actually remembered everything. It took all day but when I went to sleep that night all my memories came back.
I've been put under 4 times in the last 7 years , I'm 70 now n it's fun going under they put a mask over my mouth n nose ask me to breathe deep n count to 10 and I did count till 7 n couldnt understand why well that was a nice feeling n I was out . In one of the proceedure I woke up with a massive pipe in my mouth I lifted my hand and tried to tell the doctors to continue as I was feeling a good high , just heard someone desperately saying " hey he's waking up n then I was out again in no time . But the best part of comming out of the anesthesia is that pure blissful high , wow , just loved that high .
I wonder if that feeling you had is why Michael Jackson liked being put under so much, that eventually he didn’t come out of.
I never get past the first number -out instantly!
You and a million people . That is why people get so easily addicted to heroin
@CD-ec4khthat is exactly right
I wasn't scared before-, but NOW you just scared the living s*** out of me!
HaHaHa
Me too 😂😂
THATS WHY ITS VERY IMPORTANT TO EDUCATE YOURSELF & ASK QUESTIONS.❤
😅
I feel the same way that you do and I just recently had surgery, but had I known everything I might have opt out😂😂
I had an eye operation and left after that for about 6 months I would be driving on the freeway and catch myself waking up that scared me pretty bad but it finally went away.😮😢🎉😅
Thank you so much for this information. I had surgery a month ago and will have another surgery in March. I feel much better about anesthesia after listening to this video. Thank you so much for your service and making me feel more comfortable about what I have to face with less fear. 🙏🏽
I was in a 8 week induced coma and I remember the pain in my knee and them operating on it. Painful as hell and beyond!!!
Amazing. I’ve so many surgeries in my life. Knees, shoulders, heart. This helps me understand why I think and feel after I recover.
Wonderful!
My first surgery was at 24 hours old, over 130 surgeries since. I'm now 61. Early on the starting process was completely different. I hated it. They'd put a mask on your face and tell you to breath. The worst part was sensing movement at the top of the room and the inner noise. Then I threw up once prior to sleeping. Now, they give me something for calming prior to the actual anesthesia.
I've never been scared of it because it's always been a norm for me.
I've had many different experiences both waking & going under the anesthesia. Both full anesthesia and partial anesthesia.
Although this video seems very AI to me I'm still happy to have a better understanding of what goes on.
This video is AI, but I think the information is good.
@MaternalUniti agree with you
My last hip surgery replacement the anesthesiologist came in and introduced herself and she said Mark you’re in good hands now and it made me feel so comforting not only that she looked like an angel and then I was out and after the surgery, I was awake, but I remember what she said to me. She was probably pretty amazing. Maybe she was an angel.
That's impressive! TONS of RESPECT!!!
Thanks for watching

Brought to mind 1991 laproscopic exam
You have made me more grateful than anyone can know
God bless your everything you need whenever you need it!
Thank you, Dr Trask
What part about learning what goes on under anesthesia scared me the most? Well being paralyzed, having my consciousness taken away, the tube that goes down my throat and attaches to God knows what actually every single part of this video scared the hell out of me and thank you so much because I am facing surgery in a month or two. However I had surgery last year and sailed through anesthesia so I’m just hoping I can erase this video from my mind and go back to ignorant Bliss. Thank you🙏🏼
Man AI getting real
His lips are moving more in sync that most.
Yes. However, the hand movement was really irritating. No one talks with their hands that much!👐
This makes you the most important person in the operating room
Thankyou for telling me. I do not think i want any more surgeries but at least your honest enough to tell me and all.
Thanks Dr. Trask!!!! God BLESS!!!!
My pleasure!
I've woken up under anesthesia a few different times!
This happened to me Friday October 13th 2000. I woke up but was paralyzed. I SAW AND HEARD EVERYTHING! I WAS TERRIFIED! THIS WAS MY WORST NIGHTMARE.THIS IS WHAT I WAS DREADING, AND IT HAPPENED.
AT THE SAME HOSPITAL THAT I DIED AT 11YRS BEFORE. ALL DOCUMENTED. I WOULDN'T WISH IT ON MY WORST ENEMY
Maybe time for a law suit. Seem to be repeat offenders. Or have the hospital investigated for malpractice.
Did you feel the pain when you woke up during the surgery? 😮
Ive been intubated and was comatose for a couple weeks and when i woke i was paralyzed. It was so scary and awful. Im so sorry you went through it as well❤
WOW! Knowing that now it's scary as hell! I had long hours of surgery and came out like a trooper, my sister had long hours of surgery and is now diagnosed with dementia it hurts so much, but everybody reacts differently to things, I went in smiling and chatting when i woke up i felt like a lion and wanted to go home my Dr said she has to observe me for a day when she left i got up left the room and walked all over the hospital like nothing happened. The after effect for me is if I'm on my feet too long my ankle and calf gets puffy due to circulation
I always wondered why I seemed to go to a grey void this video was very informative thank u
Thanks you. You Talk very Excellent about the anesthesia.
Thank you too!
@Insidethefeelingwhat happens when the computer does the surgery who doing what you are doing?????
0:27 no, you are AI. 😒 maybe the doctor wrote the script, but cmon, we know. Just say it, ppl hate being lied to.
That's what I was thinking! Creepy how AI does this. 😮
Hit 'not interested'. It's a choice. ❤🇦🇺💋
