Welcome
For me when I had poison oak/ivy and for red bugs and heat rash, I used coconut oil mixed with melaleuca (tea tree) oil. It cleared up in less than a week. I applied twice per day. Also I clean my dogs' ears with coconut oil mixed with tea tree oil. I read the melaleuca wellness guide. It has multiple remedies for pets and humans from research in it. Thank you for sharing!
❤
Thank Dr Jones! I'm glad you quit that practice. I'm with you! I hate chemicals and you helped me with my 4 babies. I am going to call you I have a couple of problems and i need your advice. Thank you! God Bless! Susan Susie Ashton Onisko
Your videos are very helpful and informative. Your "plain speaking" is sorely missed in this day and age of "wokeness", especially for a country girl who was raised with a lot of these types of remedies. You couldn't just run to the vet for every tiny problem. Especially if there was only 1 or 2 vets covering 1-2 or 3 counties, and who also assisted at the morgue.
My question is, a lot of your remedies are per 10-20 pounds. What should I do when my dog is less than 10 pounds? She's a Teacup Chihuahua. Additionally, at what age should you start your dog, (or cat), on the supplements? I'm also with a lot of your other subscribers. We need more cat videos please. Thanks a lot Doc. You're great!
Thanks Dr Andrew your the best. I’ve Learned so much from you. There’s no holistic vets in our area. I’ve treated my dogs with your recommendations.
Thank you! my dog with allergy had, such skin on Stomach as,well as on the behind legs... now i see curement....
Licorice & coconut oil yum
I just found an odd one that works. Not all natural but better than steroids. My dogs are allergic to all the junk in the grass. One has the last end of a yeast infection, the other one itches. Poor thing. It drives her crazy. I've tried a million things to help her. A couple of weeks ago I thought well, itching, yeast infection. I bought some Vagisil. Spread it on her back, let it sit for a few minutes, rinsed it off, it's doing the trick. Very surprised.
Thank you Dr. Jones & Tula. You're just too much fun!😊
LOVE Licorice root, never thought to use it on my skin. THANK YOU💖😘
Best thing for cough and throat problems.
Did you change laundry soap, fabric softener? Did these co find a cheaper ingerdent to save them $ call and ask, we don't ask they don't tell. I called Dawn dish soap and ask if there was something I could put in water to protect my skin they said no wear gloves. Sometimes your skin just can't tolerate the chemicals in our favorite tolietres or they change formulas. That is why I am finding ways to make my own and on the whole they are far sapperior , safer and cheaper.
My son has this same rash using coconut oil will add your other ingredients for him to try. And he 40 so not a child, this might be what he needs.Thank you
I've never tried licorice but I add lavender, geranium, and/or tea tree oil to a blend of grapeseed oil, olive oil and coconut oil to make my own recipe for body massage as I have dry skin which can easily become itchy with white powdery scales falling off. Thanks for this video, hope you feel better soon :)
Just saw the date of this video... we're in November now!
Thank You for the good info and the ebook. I recommend your channel to all my customers who own cats and dogs.
Thank you, that's great to hear!
Yup! We must practice what we tell others to do! Tula, tell him! Thank you for sharing!
Excellent as usual, never tried liquorice but on the list for tomorrow's shopping. Fingers crossed that you continue your itch relief. Thank you.
Thanks
Get well Dr. Andrew & GOD Bless you. I used tea tree oil on a swollen gum & it helped it .
Thanks, Patricia!
Good stuff!

What a God send as today is the 29th and you did this video yesterday! My poor Pekingese Rocky, weened off Prednisone last week! NOT better! Yeast problem? Going to try your holistic remedy! I can’t stand to see him suffer with this itching all over! Now over a month! He is 11 yrs. old. My other 2 boys are fine! Not diet either! Here in Sarasota, Florida. Thank you and will F/U with hopefully + results! Deb.
apart from the itchy subject, i see Tula has a cute white beard (LOL); she is so behaved & gentle (a perfect company). Now the itchy subject: lick the itch away! and yes, lots of prescribed medications don't work .... i once used coconut oil (paste) and it really relieved the itch like when you put icy cold water on the itch. Licorice is new to me.
I used tea tree on my miniature schnauzers skin. The next morning, he couldn’t walk at all, couldn’t stand. He is one dog who does not tolerate tea tree oil. I hear some can and some can’t. He is one who can’t.
Tea tree oil is toxic to dogs, so I wouldn't use that on them.
You are such a blessing for both our precious animals and us. I have skin issues and am definitely going to try this! I'm so thankful for all that I've learned from you to be able to care for my three furbabies at home.
I hope it works well:)
Doc, its probably notalgia paresthetica from slightly inflamed spinal nerve root. Hope you're feeling better by now 😉
A paper bag sprayed with apple cider and used as Band-Aids over my itchy feet worked well.
Will try your remedy with my smoke allergic cat.
Good to know, hope my remedy helps.
Dr. Jones please give suggestions for cats at the same time for the same problem...That will be very helpful for us, cat owners...Thanks!
Banix spray.
Soak in a warm bath with colloidal oatmeal. It's great for relieving the itching. I also use a homemade body butter I made with shea butter and pure zinc oxide powder mixed in. it works wonders. :)
Thanks
I love plain shea butter for most things skin it feels so think and kind of heavy and by the time you wonder if it is going to soak in it magically has. It is great for dermatitis.
@@tryingtobarefruitinoldage9878 I love the smell of shea butter too! Kind of rich and earthy. :)
Thank you Dr. Loved this video!!
😂that’s a lot of skin😂. Thanks so much for yet another great concoction!!!!!

LOl so easy to work with a healthy dog. The stress off having a sick dog not sleeping for weeks. I'm glad Tula help you out with your itchy skin.
Thank you sooo much for this, been suffering here for a while now with same condition, have not yet used oil of licorice. You saved my cat with elderberry syrup..As I could no longer afford a vet, I found you, not to mention the fact I sure would rather use a natural alternative if at all possible.N
ever had even occurred to me to check out alternative vets when I was able to afford them, makes me feel pretty inept. I am pretty sure your going to be saving me from a back that has now has limited me to organic cotton (costly).Already used organic household and personal products, tried everything I could find on my skin, but not the licorice oil, gotta go get some.Happy, hopeful, and thankful. Thanks from my cat Gilligan, and from me,cannot express how much you are appreciated here,God bless you.
Did you find any relief with the licorice root?
fresh aloe vera - works for me and my cats
Hope your feeling better.
My recipie is : carrier oi, grapeseed

Tk very much😊
grapes are poisonous to dogs!
So glad I saw this, I have been dealing with itchy skin for months! Dr gave RX for hydroxyzine, but doesn't always work. Thanks, will get ingredients soon!
Thank you for all you do! ❤️
You're welcome! feel free to share!
You are a gem 💎 x
I've been watching your channel a while back very helpful tips your book is amazing thanks so much 💜
Thanks
I'm very glad to hear that this brought relief from your terrible itching. I get the most horrendous stitching on the bottom of my feet and the bottom of my hands. I have used the strongest percentage of cortisone cream that I could get my hands on and the only thing that brings me any relief is to use ice packs it's that bad. Looking forward to giving this a try. And of course Luke as well. He is still itching away fortunately I would have to say on a scale of 1 to 10 his itching is probably at 2 if I ask him to stop he stops. I also find if I put him in his house he's much more comfortable in there. Otherwise he will just wander around and that seems to make is itchiness worse. If he goes into his house he'll fall asleep.
AwesSome, shared, too.
Question, can this, safely, be used on cats & other species?
Same thing here for me, only on the waistline area in back. Itched like crazy. I thought maybe yeast infection from heat buildup because of the back wedge cushion I use behind me in the computer chair. Tried clotrimazole cream and it cleared up. Fast forward about three weeks......the weather has been very hot and very humid lately and the rash has come back a tiny bit at the back waistline area and a little on the backs of the thighs.....right where the heat can build up from sitting at the computer. Clotrimazole is helping again, the rash is nearly gone.
We were given an Alaskan Malamute dog many years ago that had bare skin under her collar and the vet diagnosed it as mange.....I forget which type. The vet sold us medication to dip her and our other dogs in and he cautioned us that we could get it, too, from treating them. He said it would appear as a rash in areas such as where a shirt collar would be, or a belt. He said we would notice it most after a warm shower, etc. He was right, my husband and I both got it. I went to the doctor and he almost didn't believe me when I told him what the vet had cautioned us so he looked in a big book and gave me a prescription for both of us. The itchy rash was soon gone.
By the way, the medication we bought from the vet was liquid to be mixed with water and worked into the fur. The bottle we bought wasn't enough to clear them all up, still some itching, so I bought more of the exact thing from a veterinary catalog, which was more economical, and that finished the job.
Thank you doc !
Thanks! I must try it!
Welcome
magic dog cure... so true, lol . thanks for this info, very helpful.
Welcome
Can I use Colloidal Silver in place of tea tree oil?
Thank you! I wonder if this is safe for my cat. Can't seem to find anything that helps her stop tearing herself up and the vet was not helpful with that.
I kept thinking your dog is such a good girl!
You are Amazing!! God bless you 💕💕
Thanks
I had the worst rash, on my torso, ESPECIALLY BAD were these lobster-red, crescent shapes ringing below my armpits & ta-ta's.... Went to Dr, & had allergy tests, nada, kept getting worse, hospital...
Went on for 3 weeks, was only getting worse & was absolutely untreatable I was terrified I had some fatal disease
UNTIL the end of the
BOTTLE OF LAUNDRY DETERGENT (good brand & on sale...) that I was allergic to was empty and I returned to my usual budget brand.
The reddest areas were affected bc that's where my clothes were tightest.
Sarna helps my legs and arms
Spitzwegerich für Ihren Rücken.😊
Can be used on cats as well? Thank You 😘
Yes but not with the Tea Tree oil
@@VeterinarySecrets thank You! 😘
Thank you!
you're welcome
I made a simple paste of Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay and Bragg’s Apple Cider Vinegar with mother and coated my poison ivy with it. It took the itching away quickly, and healed the rash in less than a week. I kept it coated the whole time, but took off with luke warm water and reapplied 1-2 times daily.
I use a combination of jewel weed and plantain in olive oil. It works great on people and dogs.
I just made a video on plantain and its usesa couple of weeks ago! Such a wonderful plant.

It sure does! Thanks for watching, Lorraine.
Your the BEST !!!

This is very helpful in the spring and autumn I get a itchy red rash on my face and nothing I have tried seems to soothe it, so this just might help me. Thank you so much
You're welcome! Let me know how it goes!
Did this work for you?
Technu gel is great for itching.
You crack me up .... long ago i bought this anti itch spray for my girl and i thought it burned her irritated skin by the way she freaked out, so I tried it on myself it did not burn nor did it stop the itch . I will try this .

How about lysine, zinc, taurine doses. MSM also?
Angry looking rash there . Hoping you have beaucoup relief . Thanks 🙏
Hi doctor. Do you have a video on vestibular disease in dogs? I don’t know how, or if I can search for specific videos from people I am subscribed to. If you do can you link it here for me. If not can you make one? Thanks!
I am having trouble finding licorice root tincture. I fined extract but not tincture. Please advise, I am desperate and so is my Great Prye who itches all the time and we've tried everything!!! Thank you sooooooo much for this!
I think pure anise oil will work since licorice comes from anise. I'm making some now for my neighbor's dog.
I live in the Cleveland area. The Vitamin Shoppe chain carries in their stores. Also have tried online
what brand is your coconut oil..thx
I just found your channel and this is the second video I've viewed. But I am hung up on the UTube award you have placed prominently behind you and next to it, a book entitled Black Mass. Care to explain the book? Asking for a Catholic.
I've gotten an itchy neck and the outside corners of my eyes. I have been trying only one thing at a time to not confuse myself. I tried coconut oil first because I am very fond of it! I am using a vitamin C cream right now. I have a few rough patches on my neck which make me think it's eczema.
When your video popped up in my search (I am a subscriber) I remembered the thyme oil I used on my doggy when he was waking me up scratching! I found it in the pet section at my vitamin store. It worked very well, extremely fast and lasted for hours so that we got some sleep! Anyway, I'm going to try it on my neck after I read or watch a little more!
I am very careful not to get anything IN my eyes.😊
I just thought it might help someone else.👍
Good to know, thanks for the tip
Oh and can I assume you didn’t go to the doc?
Love this! But a question please! Regarding Licorice root - it’s sometimes very harmful to people if they take too much- so how safe is it my my JRT about 15 lbs to lick a lot of it? Also I use tea tree oil and think it’s amazing but heard of harming a dog if they inhale the fumes. I trust what you recommend I just had these concerns. Thank you -Lee
Hey doc good day to you;can I use licorice powder instead of tincture of licorice
You forgot the biggest ingredient of all-having an animal friend supervise the whole thing 😆 The concoction might not work if not for that magical furry presence!
Cannot wait to try it!!
Coconut oil, licorice root tincture and tea tree oil.... Woo hoo❗
I heard Tea Tree oil was toxic for dogs. Can you confirm this would not harm them?
Belinda Douglas it is extremely toxic to dogs....I tried this recipe... two days later my dog was throwing up for a whole day! Do not use this on your dog! He failed to tell you if your dog scratches any area that you applied this, it will absorb through their paw pads; and its almost like being ingested! My poor little girl was so sick and exhausted from throwing up, she needed electrolyte replacement, washed her up to get any residual off her body, and washed all her blankets and bed! 😤 thankfully she recovered🙏🏽 He should take this video down before someone else’s dog suffers or loses their life!!!
@@letinahale1326 Although your comment is from 10 months ago- you apparently missed the part with the Tea Tree Oil where he says "we do not want then licking it off excessively"
Tea Tree Oil in many commercial remedies for dogs. If it was so toxic, dogs would have been dropping dead since they started bottling the stuff in pet remedies so many years ago. It is very controversial for use on cats, even toxic.
My family and I have used remedies with Tea Tree on my dogs for "years" and never had any problems. As a matter of fact, about an hour or so ago I used the last of Hot Spot Spray from Vet's + Best on part of my dog's tail which she chewed so bad it bled- after looking after the tail part etc I sprayed it- wrapped that part which really didn't stay for long, but brought her relief - I also sprayed upper part of paw/ankle which is now being licked and turning raw- instant relief* I AM NOT ADVERTISING FOR THEM* I just keep some on hand for my problematic Labrador and it contains Tea Tree Oil, Aloe Vera and Chamomile. I have also used a product called Nature's Aid, it is a gel, it has Tea Tree Oil among the ingredients. My only problem with it, my dog loves it and licks it off and follows me like it is a treat! So for me, it is a hassle to keep the gel on.
I need and ointment for this situation, so I came back to his channel because he is a good Vet and person and I have tried some remedies and they work..I needed something like an ointment like this.
I am not sure the size of your dog, and what percentage of Tea Tree oil you used. Did you look up how many drops per...etc? However he was clearly using this on HIMSELF.
This is his 3rd video I visited today on itchy skin. I believe there are more, and one I think has combo of issues and hot spots is included in one of them. I have some ingredients such as green tea, apple cider vinegar, regular black tea, coconut oil, tea tree oil, sweet almond oil, lavender, honey, chamomile, etc- and might need other things... I always do my best to take care of the dogs holistically and has worked out. I have properly given Arnica, aspirin and benadryl to my pets when necessary. These things I have researched and also have listen to him and his instructions. Unfortunately I had to put my dog on anti inflammatory pills due to bad arthritis flare up, and I only give when I see there is difficulty starting. As soon as I find the right combo of natural items I will no longer give her the pill.
I am not sure what the issue is with your dog. Again my family and extended family have used Tea Tree Oil and Neem for years on our dogs with no issues. Never on the cats and have always made sure kept pushing them away from each other until the application dries well so cats would not get sick.
I wish you the best.
Thank you for the recipe for skin relief cream. My POMERANIAN has lost his hair from scratching .I only have Tea tree oil & coconut oil.
Welcome
@@VeterinarySecrets is this for you or the dogs?
Great information, Doc. I know you are a dog lover, but can you include more video's on cats? For us cat lovers, there doesn't seem to be much information on them.
I found sitting on leather or vinyl chairs w/ exposed skin makes me break out.
Our dog has skin allergies on her belly. Vet put her on Apoquel along with a special shampoo for her bath. Would this work on her belly. She is taking your supplement as well. Thank you,
The veterinarian we take our dog to recommended a cytopoint injection. It worked wonders for our pooch.
Fantastic video! We enjoy all your bbn videos ! :-)
Thank you.
Your welcome!
Could you recommend a brand of those 3 ingredients that you used for the recipe?
Thank you Dr. I will try this for my yorkie, she has seborrhea. Do I just rub it into her fur? Thanks so much!
I can try what you made if I can find it all but silvadine burn cream has stopped the burn and itch for my dog for now. What a mess she has made. The other thing that calms it down is the yellow cream you use for cow pox and I can buy more of that if I run out. I also put one of those collars so it is harder for her to reach it and chew on it. No fleas, bath to kill mites if there are any of them too but she is tearing up her skin. I an leaning toward using some other things like oregano oil and maybe even thyme. Nothing is working right now except the burn cream
Do you have any paper books available or DVD? And where can I buy them?

Does anyone know what Dr. Jones said at 8:44?
I wondered if you had anything for dog mange?
I can’t remember all the videos but I think there’s a chapter in my free ebook. I think there were articles in my blog.
Ok. Thank you so much!
