I've been crocheting for 30 yrs and started the hair pin lace for a year now and have watched many videos and i have to say that you have made things easier, especially when putting on the beginning stitch. You tie a knot vs a slip knot which is hard to grasp when starting on the loom. I also like that you demonstrated how to finish the strings on the end. Thank you

I have watched a few videos on this subject and they left me feeling very intimidated. I think I will give this a try and share my results with crochet group friends. Thank You!

I've seen other Hairpin Lace videos and it looked so complicated. You really made it look doable. You're a great teacher. I think I'll look around this weekend for a loom. Thanks for sending the e-mail link to the video.

I made a hairpin lace summer blouse and I made a second one in a different color but I turned it into a fall/spring blouse by adding long sleeves to it! I basically worked chains in the round with a sc in the center of each chain space and added a simple scalloped edging to match the hairpin lace design to finish the sleeves off. (The hairpin lace strips were worked so that bunches of stitches were sc together in groups with chain spaces between the groups and sit horizontally on the blouse creating scallops that alternate between being on top and being on the bottom of the strips, think a wavy s type line, and then the strips were crocheted together with chains creating the same design as the sleeves).

I bought a hair pin lace at a fabric store I guess about five years ago, I stopped using it because I didn't know how to put it together to make a baby blankets.. I get this thing when I start to crochet I can't make up my mind what I want to make. They don't have any fabric stores where I live any more, but the only stores I can find are Walmart and Michael's. Question I'm not into making things for my self, just little things baby essories. can you do a video on making different types of things .

Wonderful tutorial, Kristen! Thanks so much. My hairpin lace loom doesn't seem nearly as intimidating now! I need to find it though as it has hidden from me since we moved 2 years ago!!

I'm so glad it helped! If you can't find it, the loom is pretty inexpensive to replace. You can find a resource I use here: www.kristinomdahl.com/whats-new/2018/12/7/hairpin-lace-crochet-technique
