- Al McGuire made his first return to Marquette for a game since he retired as their coach as he, along with Dick Enberg, broadcasted this great rivalry game vs DePaul on Feb 6, 1982, for NBC. Unfortunately, the disc I acquired did not contain the final minutes. Still, it's a very entertaining broadcast.
DePaul's uniforms are lit.
Many memories I experienced at the Mecca. Great atmoshere.
I remember that - during DePaul starting 5 intros the students break out newspapers and start reading them. Lol.😃😃
Gary Muncie is your referee.
09:43 3 seconds??? My God these refs are terrible..
Horrible call
Carroll Cosby & Tom Rucker, linesmen.
Wow amazing quality on this...
The picture quality is superb, just sorry that it didn't include the final minutes, otherwise it's perfect.

@@albrownfromtheothersideoft3115 Thanks for watching. You must love old school DePaul basketball. When I was a kid it seemed like they were on the game of the week every other week. You can post your e-mail and I will communicate with you about the games.
@@joetolstoy3573 Joe,I posted my email 3 times,every time I do,it disappears,I don't know what is going on,any suggestions how we can communicate,this is strange n unusual
@@albrownfromtheothersideoft3115 Not sure why it won't show your email but let me give you an update. Some of the things I post are mine and some of the things I borrow from a source who gave me permission to post on here. The NBC college basketball games were borrowed DVDs and returned after I posted them so I can't provide any copies. The good news is that I believe he may have other DePaul games. If so, I will post them sometime down the line.
I've been waiting on videos of Doc Rivers in college.
If that's true, look for another video I posted "Playboy All-America Basketball Team 1981-82." It's hosted by Al McGuire and he interviews college senior Doc Rivers at the end of the show.
Back in the day the band was allowed to perform music while the game was being played on the floor.
2:10 the Marquette band plays the original version of NBC’s Don’t Turn Away.
MU and DePaul used to have a rivalry. A proper rivalry!
NBC and the Mecca arena didn't coordinate their timing and the introduction of the home team had to be cut out for a commercial. That was awkward.
Good work men amazing
3:56 hot mike.
