JJF tuning up before he wins his third title at Trestles in September. It is awesome to see him back in form after all the injuries he has been through.
Be careful...if italo ends up ranked 3rd he can really win this world title...unless the judges give more points to cutbacks instead of full ro airs...which is always possible...
So he actually cruised down. Paddled out. Got 3 great set waves and then was out. Quick surf session in his back yard. Thanks for watching, hope you subbed.
@@gianthuman3315 I agree, it seems like he had an insane amount of speed on his turns and there very similar to filipes on the challenger series, but when he gets on the ct he struggles to do the same quality of surfing. Perhaps because the waves are just different on the ct, there bigger. Still though, he does charge in waves like pipe, and chopes unlike filipe
Thanks, I thought it fit really well when I was editing the video. Its called Easy Walk by Mood Mode. It is part of a royalty free music service I pay an annual fee to have the rights to use in my videos. Thanks for watching and I hope you subbed.
Thanks so much Allen. Appreciate the watch. Yeah everyone is ripping so hard on days like this, it actually becomes really difficult to edit and arrange the videos. haha. Got another banger video dropping tomorrow with a bunch of the Rip Curl Australia guys who showed up.
Yeah while Newport was probably picking up the bulk of the swell, it was so insanely consistent at Lowers. 3-5 waves per set and sets anywhere from 5-10 minutes apart. Why in the video Lucas had like 8-10 set waves. Thanks for watching.
Actually the sets were insanely consistent. Was plenty of waves for the size of the crowd. Ive seen it way worse. Plus there are so many spots surrounding Lowers in Trestles. Or can hit the beach breaks in Clemente or Oside. Thanks for watching.
So i said the exact same thing when I was filming it. Haha. Talk about confidence. I was back there tonight doing some water video and people were still talking about his session there the other day. Thanks for watching.
Got another banger dropping tomorrow with some of the Rip Curl Australia team riders that showed up. Just got mental waves. Dylan Moffat was laying down some insane turns and spray.
He was absolutely ripping that day. Perfect board for those waves. Tomorrow I am dropping a video with the Rip Curl Australia team who showed up same day. Wait until you see Dylan Moffat on some of these. Absolute buckets of spray.
It's like a playground for these level of surfers. Some of the airs they were going for and practicing were mental. Thanks for watching. Got another dropping tomorrow
So the lineup was super packed. Probably 70 plus people out there and tons were pros coming down from the US Open to surf for the day their heats were not on. Kolohe rolls up. Paddles out for maybe 45 minutes and scores those waves and just peaced out like a boss.
Thanks Joel. Appreciate you watching. Early morning to get up there, but well worth it. Just watching that forecast for next big swells. Dying for some big stuff that lites up the coast.
Yeah I was back at Lowers this afternoon to do some water video. Ocean was so warm. I had a Spring on and really didn't need it. Uppers looked fun this morning I was filming. Hope you got some good ones.
i scored them all on there top 2 waves 1: jjf, 2: lucas silveira, 3: sam pupo, 4: carlos munoz, and 5: kolohe. lucas didn't surf as well as sam in my opinion but he had better wave selection.
@@benneebean8199 interesting! yes, i just gave them a ranking based on overall performance of their section, but I trust your top 2 wave judging results. thanks for doing that, continues to prove that surfing is almost too subjective for sport ;)
the Brazilian program Por Dentro do Tour made a survey of the last 17 heats in which Medina competed with the 4 WSL favorites, john john florence, colapinto, jack robinson and ethan ewing, medina won only 4 heats, all with more than 5 points of difference, like, there was no room for doubt, 4 heats he lost with a big advantage too, and 9 heats well contested, all of which Medina lost, some very controversial, anyone has doubts that if JJF just surfs well he will be champion ??
They were talking about his career so far in the 1st day of Fiji competition and he has been in the quarters and finals of every contest this year so far except one. It only has been all those injuries he suffered that has really held him back.
Typical brazilian 🤣 Keep crying dude JJF is the best and post stylish surfer of the last decade there is no doubt about that for anyone that isn’t a brazzos
Yes quite a bit. SLAW means Surfing Land Air Water which are all the angles I film from. Lowers is difficult to use a drone though because of the nuclear plant, state park, and military base. There are only very small slivers of area that are not in restricted.
I heard the word is that if he does not win the title this year he is gonna retire? Focus on travel and Florence Marine and the company? Thanks for watching and hope you subscribed.
@@SLAWTVvideosI don’t think he will mow the final will be in Fiji next year but think Trestles will be tough for him. For me Poops looks way better here - lucky for JJF Toledo won’t be in the final this year!
Yeah I got up there at 630am and no parking in the lot, no parking on the side streets. had to wait for a space. Everything was packed from Uppers all the way down across to SanO. Thanks for watching, hope you subbed.
Yeah always stoked to see that as well. The lineup is full of so many talented surfers that most of them know what is up. Its nothing for them to hold back and take the white water on the head, so they don't screw up someone's line. Thanks for watching and hope you subscribed.
Plenty of spots around the globe that are empty. Southern California is one of the most crowded places on Earth in general, so just logical the breaks would be crowded too. Thanks for watching.
Southern California is not Indo or Hawaii especially in the summer. You surf what's available and mother ocean sends your way. That entire area is just beach breaks and cobble stone reefs. Aside from Black's Beach which had no swell and The Wedge what other waves of consequence are around?
JJF tuning up before he wins his third title at Trestles in September. It is awesome to see him back in form after all the injuries he has been through.
yeah I am really hoping he gets his 3rd title this year and the win at Lowers. Last year there, then it goes to Fiji for the final in the 2025 tour.
Could be his fifth if not for all the injuries
Be careful...if italo ends up ranked 3rd he can really win this world title...unless the judges give more points to cutbacks instead of full ro airs...which is always possible...

Every time I see S Pupo surf I see more and more of Toledo shaping up in his surfing. Kid is deadly
I can see that in his style. Fast and whippy. Thanks for watching.

Kolohe trying to crack some skulls
That was insane, he just busted an air right over them. Such an incredible surfer. Thanks for watching.

The wave must take John back to his childhood
Child's play for him at this size. It's like a wave pool. Can try any maneuver. Thanks for watching.

He patiently waited for those best waves of each heat and then unloaded on them on finals day. So stoked to have seen it in person.
