Why rockets stage:
So basically, it takes a lot of fuel ti get into space.
However, when you do get into space, you don't need a lot of fuel to move around.
Since things get harder to move when they get heavier, scientists figured out that they could separate the stuff that they no longer needed to go faster and have more effiency, which is called staging
