My wife and I are in the middle of selling our house, buying an RV to go find our little piece of quiet and are going to build a slightly modified version of this stove for the road. Thanks Boss, we really enjoy your videos.
every video of yours is like a trip down memory lane, good times in the woods hunting and fishing and camping with my dad an granddad, they taught me to be the man I am today, thank you very much for your videos and your backwoods knowledge and for taking me back to a simpler and better times for me, thank you again and God bless my friend
Pretty handy little device, it certainly looks easy to make. Another awesome video Boss, keep up with your hard work. You and Frankie take care and stay safe.
I have to say, you are the real deal! You are so knowledgeable and talented, and an all around nice guy. Also, your videos are so well put together! I watch several outdoors/nature/diy sort of channels, and this one is the best. You should be on cable!
well it looks like im off to wal mart boss , cool little stove for emergencies . I ve been watching you tube for years and years and found your channel about a month ago . It is the only channel I have ever subscribed to and I am hooked . I ll pass the word to my friends and family . yessir.....
Will definitely upgrade when the coffee can is no longer serviceable.… “ if it ain’t broke don’t fix it”....... and as you always point out boss…ITS FREE 😉.
Cool project JC ! I have used sand in the bottom of small wood stoves to protect the metal. Thanks for sharing how to be more self-sufficient.>> Here comes a personal request that may be on your list >> How to build a chuckwagon campfire pit with all the bells & whistles for my back woods outdoor kitchen. Looking forward to more Backwoods Logic episodes! All the best >> Diane
As always JC...loved the video. I learn more practical things from your videos, than most of my years in school. Can't wait to make one of these little stoves...
I just sent a copy of this video to my wife and had her watch it. She decided that we need one. We are going to build one with the upgraded ideas that you mentioned. Really a great video.......
SwampDonkey530 I have so many ideas for this thing. My 6" one is in the works and I'll be adding an oven to it as well. I'm having too much fun with this.
I'm mid way through marathon-ing all your videos and I just want t o say all of them have left me with at least one thing if not more that I've found to be useful, helpful, and inspirational to me. My dream is similar, and you've brought me more hope that it can be done than any other site or video or direction. About your rocket stove it is the first video or instruction on this that has made sense and looks affordable, doable and possibly more economical than my current situation. Thank you so much and I love you're videos and you're puppy!
Boss, that’s a great design and easy to make. Can also make it on the cheap, which is even better. My friend, God bless you and yours! You’re an inspiration to us all!
Well, Boss, I've been looking at rocket stove designs for months now and just saw this one you built as I was going through the videos. I have to say, it's the easiest design I've seen... I can do that one with the tools and things I have or can afford to buy. That's important for me. Glad I found it, thanks!
deeann pookie Awww thank you Deeann :-)I'm loving this little stove. It's amazing at how well it cooks with nothing more than twigs. So handy for emergency purposes.
Thanks again for not assuming that all your viewers know all about tools and techniques! The information about the curved vs. Straight tin clips is great; I never would have thought to even wonder about such details. I am going to recommend your channel to all my women friends like me who are OH so very independent, but have few skills that are necessary to get projects done on our own down here in "The Magical Land of Nada; Luna County, New Mexico".😱
Kudos on the concept! A couple things that you can do with the exact same parts. 1) Use the cut out pieces for a foundation at the bottom of the burn chamber for added resistance to a burn by sliding one to the bottom then adding an inch of sand, and then the second one onto the sand. This would work best if when being cut, they were nearly exactly the same size as the galvanized section. 2) Your U bolts were brilliant - but nothing says you can't turn them upside down to use - there by lowering OR even making adjustable the height of the "grate" you're replacing with them. My hats off to you - PLEASE keep these wonderful ideas coming and your channel viewers will be ready for anything!!! ~Soft Winds and Starry Nights~
Love Frankie laying on the snow @ 13:54....great job...would come in handy when there are outages for sure, or even cooking outside during the summer...
Thanyou for letting me know before i tried it. I saw the set of interchangeable tools like you mentioned but got to find who has them in stock Praise God!!! Thankyou both again for all your help.May the Lord bless you so much so that in your hearts you know that He loves you both n that you are blessing others through your ministry teaching how to live a simple wholesome life
Another fantastic video! I am taking your suggestion and taking my two oldest grandkidlets shopping, each with a list of things to get and we are going to build this. They are 15 & 16 so should be a great project for us. That is after we get the Gorton to a slow simmer and the English Muffins raising. I know for sure this time I will roll them thinner.
your videos are just awesome and I just "escape" when I watch…… I go someplace mentally far away when I watch. Thanks for all the video and work that goes into them.
Great approach for anyone wanting to do something similar without many resources. A temp stove can be built using a pile of rocks and mud. You kept it simple so others in such a situation could make the design connections. Thank you!
Great video! I'll be making one soon. Thought of making some to sell. Thanks Boss. Please give Frankie & Tildy a hug from Simba & Dollie, my 2 Dobermans.
How very clever.. love the finished project and am very impressed! You always are the perfectionist with all you do. Who would have ever thought of using a stainless steel pot? I was amazed that those tin snips cut through it. Thumbs up JC for your creativity! God Bless!
1994abbygirl This perfectionism is sometimes more of a curse than a blessing. I just finished making an intro for a new series I'll be starting. The intro is 27 seconds long but it took me 5 hours to piece together. I'm a sick man Abbygirl. It came out good though. I'm anxious to start that series. The rocket stove is really cool and works great. I love it.Have a great day my friend.
thebossoftheswamp I appreciate your perfectionism and professionalism..in today's world we see a lot of sloppy unfinished things happening. It takes time to think things through and in the end we get something great. Like your cabin, your land and little or big projects. I am anxiously awaiting your new series. Blessings!
Another Great Video! Been laid up for a couple of weeks after some surgery and was looking forward to your next project. You're helping my recovery so thanks again for the work you to do.
Your videos are always so refreshing and I look forward to them all the time, I like your version of the rocket stove and it really seems like it would do a good job and I also am planning to build one from your version also. Thank you for the wonderful videos you do!
Another great use of a Walmart stock pot. I love the fact that you took the time to think of a simple way to build a rocket stove that anyone could do with minimal tools and investment. Trent
Terrific vid. I have never seen a rocket stove like this one. I have three of those tin cutters and I'm glad I paid attention to what they were each designed to do. I struggled a lot using each one to ease the pain in my hand, but now I understand. SAND - brilliant!!
Just have to say I've enjoyed watching your videos. Especially that awesome wood stove you have. Very true my generation doesn't know much about patience and saving money. Living off what's not what's wanted has been a hard thing to curve I have to admit. Thinks for some amazing insight on things and great explanations on how to do stuff. Videos like this go a long way.
Nathan Mcbride Glad you enjoy them Nathan.. Definitely agree about our society. They all want instant gratification but their lives don't appear to be very gratifying.
My wife and I are in the middle of selling our house, buying an RV to go find our little piece of quiet and are going to build a slightly modified version of this stove for the road. Thanks Boss, we really enjoy your videos.
Best of luck with your new venture :-)

Jeff Bagley Very simple indeed. Fun project.
My grandfather had something like that when I was a kid. Pretty neat.
Excellent idea!! I've been impatiently waiting for a new video. Keep em coming, Boss!
I have to say, you are the real deal! You are so knowledgeable and talented, and an all around nice guy. Also, your videos are so well put together! I watch several outdoors/nature/diy sort of channels, and this one is the best. You should be on cable!
Nate Chung Thank you Nate. I appreciate your kind words.
Amen 🙏 Amen 🙏 to that!!! 🙏🙏🙏🕊
Loved this! One of the best designs I have seen yet. Thanks for all you do.

MARK HARRIS Thanks Mark. Please spread the word. I'm going to experiment with a few ideas for this stove and will post an update soon. Yessah
Great demonstration. This one would last a lifetime compared to the one I saw made from metal soup cans and a larger coffee can.
MT
MegaMadTrapper The soup can one was very innovative but this is just too simple to make. I'm lovin it.
Will definitely upgrade when the coffee can is no longer serviceable.… “ if it ain’t broke don’t fix it”....... and as you always point out boss…ITS FREE 😉.
Quite a nifty and inexpensive idea, thank you for sharing
Cool project JC !

As always JC...loved the video. I learn more practical things from your videos, than most of my years in school. Can't wait to make one of these little stoves...
BrassTurds I didn't learn anything useful in school either :-)
I always enjoy your videos, thanks and keep them coming!
Your amazing Boss, that's awesome, might make me one of those thanks.
These are really cool stoves :-)
I just sent a copy of this video to my wife and had her watch it. She decided that we need one. We are going to build one with the upgraded ideas that you mentioned. Really a great video.......
Great build brother, the usages of that thing are endless, i think every outdoors person should have one!!
SwampDonkey530 I have so many ideas for this thing. My 6" one is in the works and I'll be adding an oven to it as well. I'm having too much fun with this.
Love that stove. My 1 pound tanks are not cheep. And I do like a slow cooked chilli. Looks to be a winner. Tks.
Oh man, you make my day. Much respect. Thank you, from Norway!
SFHcrew Thank you kindly.
Now all you have to do is go out with Frankie and tap some of those Maple tree's and boil up some Syrup for the Cabin. ;-)
great stove to have, not only in emergency but for a cook up as well.
I'm mid way through marathon-ing all your videos and I just want t o say all of them have left me with at least one thing if not more that I've found to be useful, helpful, and inspirational to me. Cool JC....just goes to show you what a little ingenuity and a little work can come up with......props my friend.
Twas the night before Christmas with you and Frankie are my favorites. It has become a family tradition every year now during the holidays
Mine too!
Definitely going to make this, thanks so much for the instructions. Glad you included a bit of Frankie's antics.
Fran L Good luck with your project. I think I'm going to put some high temp chaulking around the pipe to hold the sand in.
I really enjoy your videos and especially how you explain things. I've learned quite a bit from your videos.
