I love how the audience is shocked after the plant says “Feed me” and then laughed afterwards even though the ending of the play is very different then what was played in the movie I couldn’t help but laugh along with the audience in the dentist office scene because of the laughing gas machine but we all know what happens after the dentist gets killed by the laughing gas he ends up being a plant food. But overall I’m impressed with the puppetry and the voice of the plant I’m also impressed with the actors and actresses they did a phenomenal job. I’m happy to say that in September 14 little shop of horrors might be back on Broadway at the westside theater I say that only because I don’t remember seeing it on Broadway in person but I’ve watched the movie and I’ve seen some clips of it and I’m like I would really love to see it and I also think that slowly we would be back the way it used to be before Covid hit last year but slowly.
This was the best show I've ever seen. Thereafter with Anthony Rapp as Seymour. I saw it 12 times. It was the best musical and still is, the best musical to me in the world. The new cast tho? NO THANKS!
I think you wrote this during Conrad Ricamoras time as seymour. The new cast certainly is very different and is a very unique take on the show. To be honest, I wasn't keen on Ricamoras performance either. However, skylar astin just got the role, and I personally like the new cast. And my god, Christian Borle was born to play Orin (but he is amazing in everything). I do think that the new mushnik and Audrey choices are interesting to say the least. But the Audrey Two that is currently touring is so amazing. I think one of the fundamental problems with the new one when compared to this one is that the budget was crazy for this one. I mean, the plant went into the audience! I see where you are coming from, but I don't think you should be too fast to judge. Obviously, I don't know if you've seen it, I have only been able to see some of it because I live in Australia, but I think the revival does a good job for what it was going for.
I'm obsessed with this musical in general and really like the revival! Christian Borles' portrayal as orin is hilariously comedic with Jonathan and the Urchins and he brings a very "tough guy" feel to the role as well! I've seen the bootleg hundreds of times and really enjoy it! I enjoy this one, too, and will forever be one of my favorites! Same thing with the movie! The revival is more modern, and I would understand why you don't like it, but me I personally love it dearly!
Seymore operates the hand puppet, and then when it grows bigger, there's a man sitting in the pot and his legs are the plants roots and operates the plant with his arms. Sometimes there are two productions. When my drama group did LSOH, the guy doing the voice for Audrey 2 was behind the black curtain and the other actor was inside the plant. When it eats ppl itsl like a slide inside the plant. The puppets are adorable, but our revolve was petrifying, cos you felt like you were crushed lol. I was ensamble
The first puppet, is a guy under the table, when it grows bigger it's a hand puppet that Seymor operates and the last puppets is a man operating the plant with his legs in the roots and lastly it's like tunnel and a slide
I love how everyone laughs when Audrey II starts moving. I have a friend that was the voice of Audrey II in our local production. He said that he had a blast.
Act 1, and 2 | Little Shop of Horrors | 6/5/2003 | Pre-Broadway Hunter Foster, Alice Ripley, Lee Wilkof, Reg Rogers, Billy Porter, Dioni Michelle Collins, Haneefah Wood, Moeisha McGill. (720p, and 1080p)
This cast is so talented! But I'm always disappointed at how slow they take the songs now. If one listens to the original production they are meant to be MUCH more of a bop.
Not the camera getting set up during the words "The use of recording devices is strictly prohibited" lmao
did you guys notice that everybody started cheering after "21st day of September?" cuz this show was on that exact date?
It also happens to be today!
1:22 - Little Shop of Horrors
6:22 - Skid Row (Downtown)
12:30 - Da-Doo

25:22 - Somewhere That's Green
29:36 - Closed For Renovation

39:56 - Mushnik and Son
44:39 - Sudden Changes

The Greek chorus is FIRE
46:00 LMFAO SOMEONE SAID “AH HELL NAH”
LMAOOO
no wonder why that audience was cracking up!!! and they were laughing at just what happened. the way Hunter rolled with it
The Greek Chorus were so great! Their harmonies were tight!
I love how Orin's response to being threatened is doing dental work on them 😂
The woman playing Audrey has such a beautiful voice. I am in tears as she sings Somewhere That's Green. I saw that she had tears too.
I love how the set is just an upgraded version of the original set basically.
Yeah I think that's what they were going for
Upgrade

Because someone in the audience said “ aw hell naw!”
I find it ironic that Audrey does end up somewhere that's green, in the stage production, just not where she expects
Now THATS how you do “Feed Me”!!!
Facts
Levi Stubbs style.
You can thank Louis the alligator for that
Exactly
46:01 I abouslutely love the pause of silence hear a lot more versions of the show should do that it builds up humour and shock that the plant talked
Me too! It's such a great scene!
@@lilmamaaj18 true I think hunter Foster unphazed look paired with the comple motionless body of the plant works everytime
45:59 "OH HELL NO BITCH" LMAOOOOO
and the audiences response. and hunters delivery 😂
I can’t 😂
Me: OH, HEAVENS YES, BRO!
"DOES THIS LOOK INANIMATE TO YOU, PUNK?" My favorite Audrey II line!

45:59 😭😭😭😭😭😭
I think I was actually at this exact show.
can you tell me more about the guy that said “ahhh h nahhh.” the audience’s response and hunter’s delivery
I'm very impressed with that baby Audrey II puppet. I wonder how it works!
Its a simple hand puppet operated from under the table
@@Apes_Together_Stronk yes i looked videos of how the puppets are operated afterwards! They're really cool tbh! :)

I wonder if Howard Ashman were still alive, he’d have approved of this despite his belief that the show belonged on a smaller stage?
Lois the alligator from princess and the frog is literally Audrey II rn
“how’d ya like to be a big” :v
“whEEL” :\_/

Feed Me is my favorite thing in musical history
Act 1, and 2 | Little Shop of Horrors | 6/5/2003 | Pre-Broadway
Hunter Foster, Alice Ripley, Lee Wilkof, Reg Rogers, Billy Porter, Dioni Michelle Collins, Haneefah Wood, Moeisha McGill.
(720p, and 1080p)
I did the mushnik slime back in middle school
Ronette stole the whole show to me!
I LOVE KERRY!!! 😍
Act 1, and 2 | Little Shop of Horrors | 9/21, and 23/2003 | Broadway (Full Show)
I like A2s laugh. 😃
This cast is so talented! But I'm always disappointed at how slow they take the songs now. If one listens to the original production they are meant to be MUCH more of a bop.
I tried but I can't watch it with that high pitched squeal through the whole thing. lol
Me (as Courage the cowardly dog): Something strange is going on in that Florist shop or my name ain't Quincy and it's not.
Why are so many people walking about in the audience!?!!
The only mystery in this show is why the heck did we see no faces?
Huh?
Quality isn’t great but that’s to be expected from a 2003 show
Not a fan of Audrey’s voice or performance
