this is one of my favorite of your trees. Not only because it's small, but also because of the story of how it started. So lucky to have three seeds germinate naturally on that rock!
Daggum, good sir! When I look at Cedars, I typically just see a thick trunk and a messy bush on top. Once they get the Nigel treatment, they immediately look like a majestic old tree. I know this is a land/water penjing, but it reminds me of your Rattle Snake Canyon trip with Dave.
Great video Nigel, as always 🩵, love that you left that part with drunk camera, it made my day 😂, happened to me more than one time. Lots of love, keep on growing 🩵🩵
Nice...I'm starting to work with our Western Red Cedars since they are so prevalent on our property...They seems a little finicky about being uprooted and potted but I'm hoping in a year or two that they will come around...This Penjing is very calming and realistic looking...Thanks for the pruning walk through as it will be helpful in my own work...Thanks for sharing...
Looks like you have the same weeds as I do here in central England - I have more trees this year than last, but for the last couple of months I seem to have just been constantly pulling those little things out of all my outside pots! And nice trees, I have a thuja (I think!) that will be getting some attention from me soon.
Love this planting! 💚💚💚 I just pruned my thuja seedling, hoping to one day get it looking somewhat aged. Just pinching here and there. Q: could you repot a thuja on the fall? Not touching the roots tho. I have mine in a terracotta pot still, and am a bit concerned of the pots survival in the winter. Last winter went well, but I had it on a balcony then, this next winter I have to keep it out in the open 😮

I absolutely love this tree, Nigel, great work!
The stagging of your bonsai put it in another level. It take a cute bonsai and transform into a beautiful tiny lanscape with the moss and the rock 😍
It was hilarious to watch your tripod get tired!!!
Looks fantastic. Show worthy!
Love your work Nigel keep it up love your videos and trees

They look amazing. And you have given me an idea to try to make the same sort of planting. Thank you for sharing.

That landscape looks great with the weeds👌🏻 But of course they have to go before they take over the whole pot
