This is a follow-up to our episode highlighting the Ozarks Model Railroad Association fall show.I wanted to show you more of this amazing G scale layout featuring the work of the Ozark Garden Railway society based in Springfield Missouri
This is the D&R Railroad, and it’s one of the most detailed G-scale train layouts I’ve ever seen
Even though I model in HO scale, I walked away from this inspired by what I saw.
The D&R is a freelanced railroad set in a mountain mining area. The trains are lettered for the fictional Booger County.
There is so much packed into this display, which is just 7X14 feet. Unlike most garden railways, this G-scale display is built into a foot traveler trailer so it can take to shows just like this one.
According to details on the group's brochure, this display took 1,800 hours to build. All the structures are scratch-built.

Indoor G Scale layout at 42" inch table height to put the trains at their best viewing angles. Nine 4X8 tables connected via several bridges...Trains can be seen by searching RUclips with "Ferris B&H"...

Thanks, Johnny! It's certainly a little different than what I'm used to featuring, but I can certainly find some inspiration in all scales. Plus, I have to make sure and have some stuff for our non-HO folks every once in a while. Ha.

Hello! I appreciate you watching! G scale is pretty neat. I’d like to have one in my yard at some point. But, at this point, my HO is more than plenty to keep me busy! Ha.
I wish you could have started with a master shot showing the entire layout and then focused on the closeup’s so we could see the detail.
Hi, Paul. I’ll keep that in mind for next time. It would have been hard to do that as the layout is within a travel trailer with side posts and overhang. So, I had to get close enough to not show those. I do agree with you, though!
