I work for a dermatologist and we sell colorscience and super goop. I just wanted to mention the super goop setting spray. It's wonderful. Another tip for colorscience powder , use it on the back of your hands when getting your nails done.
I really always get so much from your videos! I had melanoma at 27 years old and SPF is such an important topic! Products have improved so much in these 20 years. Putting on a moisturizer with SPF under foundation with SPF is a must and ladies...it will keep you looking younger longer! Had no idea about these great products to reapply. I'm sure you have done video's on sunless tanners (that don't make you smell weird). Will look into your library. Thanks again. Skin cancer is very preventable, but not always treatable.
That powder brush SPF is handy!!! I'm thinking quick touch ups for kids and me during the day!! I hate that your supposed to apply and reapply frequently. LIKE, how am I going to do that with a full face of makeup??? XX ~ E
I absolutely love this video! I was diagnosed last year with 2 different types of skin cancer so I have to keep30 and above sunscreen on at all times so I will definitely try these products!
Please be aware that in order to get the SPF on the bottle of any suncare product a minimum amount has to be applied. For regular sunscreen most people will need 1/4 teaspoon of product just for the face. SPF is based on 2mg/cm2 of surface area. Do not rely on just your foundation for sun protection.
iameshell _ and my thoughts on the re-application products is that you don’t k ow how much SPF protection you are actually getting. Mists evaporate when you spray them so you would need to drench your face and powders same as foundations you don’t put in enough to equal 1/4 tsp
I’m not trying to be Debbie Downer but all the products you mentioned dont truly give you the SPF protection they claim to give. I’ve done massive research of SPF and if you want the benefits a product is claiming you need at least 1/4 tsp for your face & neck of that product. THat being said all those foundations, CC, BB, etc that have spf you would need to apply 1/4 of tsp for it to be effective. That will give you a cakey mess. The mists loose a lot of product when you spray because the mists evaporate so you don’t know how much your face is actually getting and like I said you need at least 1/4 tsp for it to be effective. Same with powders 1/4 tsp. I think those companies are in the right track but their SPF claim for touch ups or what not is not giving you the full effect. Who knows how much SPF you are actually getting.
iameshell _ I agree! I thought just wearing a foundation, BB, CC with SPF was good enough since they claimed to have SPF 30 or 50. I’ve been lucky and can’t imagine what you have been through and are still going through having experienced skin cancer. I rarely go to the pool or the beach but when I do I don’t wear makeup so I can actually reapply sunscreen every 2 hours as indicated. So much misinformation with all these products that have “SPF”
If I recall correctly, Wayne Goss also mentioned that there is no need to reapply sunscreen every two hours unless you are sunbathing and laying out in the sun with direct exposure. What Lisa is showing in these powders just give that extra oomph to your spf for things like running errands, etc....great items to have in our arsenal!! Thanks Lisa!!
Cyndi Crane I know she’s not a doctor and I’m sure she has well intentions but the facts are you need 1/4 tsp of SPF at initial application (which I’m sure she does but it would have nice for her to encourage it and not have someone think these products are enough) and 1/4 tsp for re application for SPF to be effective. These powders and mists don’t give you that amount especially if you just lightly dust it on.
Great video Lisa, I was hoping someone would come out with a video about sunscreen. I just purchased Clinique’s mineral body sunscreen for my body. Ive got olive skin tones and I’m Italian so my skin is a tad darker than the next. Well let’s just say I haven’t really focused on sunscreen because I usually don’t burn and I love the sun. This will be the first year that I focus on sunscreen for my body and I was wondering if you had any tips on when to reapply and how long can I stay in the pool before having to reapply? It’s so new to me! I really want to save my skin. I have decent skin and I’d like to take care of it. Again, thank you for this video on the face. Any tips will help😊
Thanks Lisa. You know I'm going to grab the Color Science powder to keep in my bag. Since you introduced me to Color Science I have been looking at their other products and this is one on my list of products to try. Good information and reminder that with the summer months upon us we need to be extra diligent in reapplying sunscreen. I think we too often think we're ok because we put it on as a step in our skincare. .....but we need more! I think a video incorporating how much sunscreen needs to be applied would be helpful. I was surprised when my dermatologist showed me how much we actually need to use. I was applying half of what she recommends.
The Colorscience sounds pretty awesome! We are in TN and summers here can be really hot and I’m not one for heavy foundations. The powder with a tinted moisturizer underneath sounds like a great idea. Great video!
I have the ColorScience loose powder sunscreen but it’s kind of a pain because it’s in a tub and has a separate brush. Definitely need to invest in one of these items since I’m already spending my evenings and weekends and at the ballpark (freezing my arse off lately I might add 😂) but still in the sun.
What shade of colorscience SPF powder did you use? My skin color is similar to yours. I wanna grab the fair shade, but unsure if it’s too light I’m between fair and medium...
I have It cosmetics CC cream and I love it, It has 50 SPF too. Maybe it would pair nicely with that colorscience brush sunscreen for touching up. Again, thank you for sharing... ❤
Will be saving up for the Colorscience. I use the It CC cream that already has an SPF 50, but I could use something to reapply once I sweat most of it off, thanks.
I just got a sample of the coola setting spray. I love it. It does burn my eyes so i make sure i keep them closed till it dries. My eyes are sensitive.
That sounds great!, Lisa, does the bronZer SPF 50'S BRUSH NEED CLEANING- AND HOW WOULD YOU DISINFECT IT? Sorr for the caps! I'm suffering arthritis in my hands today, thanks Doll, Claire in CAN
Hi Lisa, funny you did this video, as I was just thinking I needed to order a powder sunscreen. I wasn’t sure whether to order the Colors Science or the Super Goop. BTW, I am still jealous of your weather, as I woke up to an inch of snow this morning.
Cathy Dunfee I work for a dermatologist and we sell colorscience and super goop. I think it's personal preference. I do use the super goop setting spray which is wonderful.
Thanks so much for this video! I'm in San Antonio and when June hits omgggg it's so bad lol. I'm excited to look into the spray and the color science tube powder for keeping on me when I'm.out and about this summer.
All of the people saying these products aren’t good enough, some of us like myself, don’t even wear sunscreen so using any of these products I’m sure is better than NOTHING. Thank you for this video 🌞
I love your videos! Thank you for sharing this information! I was wondering if you could do a video of Mac studio fix fluid drugstore dupe! I love that foundation but I am thinking about starting to tan just for my family vacation and would love a cheaper alternative instead of having to buy a new shade just for a few weeks out of the year. :( thank you so much!
Hi! Please let me know where I can get the Colorscience SPF and eye cream in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This link doesn’t deliver to Canada, if I recall correctly. 😔
I have the Supergoop setting spray w SPF. My favorite way to use it is to spray it on my finger tips then press it into my part. Because it’s meant to be a setting spray it dries clear and doesn’t leave white gunk in my dark hair.
2 yrs ago I was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer n had to hav a complete hysterectomy due to that I know hav 10+ hot flashes a day on top of that the state I live in during the summer is about 100-110 degrees so I’m constantly sweating n anything on my face comes right off is there a sunscreen u can recommend that want come off
Angelina Carraway35 My heart goes out to you 🌷 I love the Darphin Environmental Lightweight Shield spf50, it’s pricey but think you might really like it.
this video is so informative, the product is also promising... I wish they have here in Cambodia... what I'm using now is la Roche posay, it's really good it won't move your makeup too,,, well that's the best Cambodia can offer here...
Lisa J My Sephora is really small where I live so, they don’t have it. I would have to order online 😒 I am enjoying the Tatcha cleansing product and the mask 🌺 also, the water cream as well . The primer is sold out at the moment. Have a Great weekend 🌺
Those are great suggestions. I used to have the Colorscience SPF 20 in California Girl, but that was a long time ago! What color do you use in the SPF 50?
Please checkout Dr. Dray here on RUclips. ( She Is a dermatologist) she has videos on SPF and the do’s and don’ts of sun protection. These products mentioned are all don’ts not because of the brands itself but the delivery system. They don’t really offer enough spf to protect you. Like face powders, mists and makeup with spf. Don’t rely on these solely as your sunscreen or even for reapplication.
LovelyLife - I watch Dr. Dray too and I find her knowledge and her recommendations to be invaluable. My skin is looking and feeling better and most of all, I am using spf products every single day. I need to be a bit better on the reapplication, but I am getting there.
"Dr. Dray's" real name is Dr. Andrea Suarez and she is in fact a dermatologist practicing in the Houston, TX area. Anyone who questions her qualifications should Google her for further information. Her gives great product recommendations and reviews and her non nonsense approach to skincare is something that the RUclips beauty & health community really needs.
Great to know! Yes, I wouldn't rely on these products alone as SPF. I apply a cream product every morning, but wont reapply a cream product over makeup later in the day. I would think these products couldn't hurt , and help (even if not as effective as others) to reapply? I guess a little extra SPF is better than nothing?
I work for a dermatologist and we sell colorscience and super goop. I just wanted to mention the super goop setting spray. It's wonderful. Another tip for colorscience powder , use it on the back of your hands when getting your nails done.
Thanks so much for the tips Lori! Xoxo
lori justice: Does your dermatologist sell/deliver to Canada?
Miss Mona you can go to our website Cumberlandskin.com. if not color science and elta MD have websites. 🌞
You're welcome. ❤️
lori justice: Just seeing this now. Yes, I trod Colorescience’s website but they don’t deliver to Canada. I’ll check yours. Thanks!
I've been using Colorescience face primer for several years. Great to see you share some more natural beauty products.
Thanks so much Colleen! Glad you love it :)
I really always get so much from your videos! I had melanoma at 27 years old and SPF is such an important topic! Products have improved so much in these 20

Thank you Ellen! Gosh how scary!!! I'm glad you caught it.
That powder brush SPF is handy!!! I'm thinking quick touch ups for kids and me during the day!! I hate that your supposed to apply and reapply frequently. LIKE, how am I going to do that with a full face of makeup??? XX ~ E
The Style Chronicles maybe there is a setting spray too? I haven’t found one yet but I’m still hopeful!
I absolutely love this video! I was diagnosed last year with 2 different types of skin cancer so I have to keep30 and above sunscreen on at all times so I will definitely try these products!

For regular sunscreen most people will need 1/4 teaspoon of product just for the face. SPF is based on 2mg/cm2 of surface area. Do not rely on just your foundation for sun protection.
And these products should be in ADDITION to a full base sunscreen reapplied every two hours.
iameshell _ and my thoughts on the re-application products is that you don’t k ow how much SPF protection you are actually getting. Mists evaporate when you spray them so you would need to drench your face and powders same as foundations you don’t put in enough to equal 1/4 tsp
This is something I always wondered about but never asked. Excellent video!
Thanks Kate :)

Watch Wayne Goss's video on Foundation with SPF sunscreen. He uses the recommended amount....hilarious!!

Artist N Soul, What suncream do you use?
I LOVE your foundation in this video- looks SO natural! Are you wearing the IT CC powder? Which drunk elephant sunscreen do you use? Thanks :)

Yes! The video that I keep hoping someone will do. Thank you! Have you tried the Pixi Sun Mist?
Awesome timing! Not yet true spring in Northern Colorado but at this elevation, I always need it. Thanks for these recommendations!
Thanks so much Laura :)
Great job! Gonna try this summer some of these products so important to take care of our skin. I love your make up today 😉💕
Thank you Christine! :)
Will be saving up for the Colorscience. I use the It CC cream that already has an SPF 50, but I could use something to reapply once I sweat most of it off, thanks.
Thanks so much Debbie! If you ever try it, would love to hear your thoughts :)

It has antimicrobial so it keeps the bristles clean :)
Great video!! I love the color science powder!!!
Thank you! So happy you love it! :)
Very informative video , thank you Lisa , love all you videos , stay awesome!
Thank you so much Marbetka :)
Best video so far!😎
Hi Lisa, funny you did this video, as I was just thinking I needed to order a powder sunscreen. I wasn’t sure whether to order the Colors Science or the Super Goop. BTW, I am still jealous of your weather, as I woke up to an inch of snow this morning.
Tarte has also come out with one :)
Cathy Dunfee I work for a dermatologist and we sell colorscience and super goop. I think it's personal preference. I do use the super goop setting spray which is wonderful.
lori justice , thanks for letting me know. I went ahead and bought the Colorscience powder, since it looked smaller to carry in my purse
Thanks Donna!
Thanks Lori for the tip and help :)
Hi Lisa! Does the It cosmetics powder work well on oily skin?
Hi Lisa, which color do you use in ColorScience?
I want to try that colorscience brush, but when I reapply it during the day, do you think it will show my dry skin or settle in my dry patches?
Lisa, thank you for sharing a very important product especially here in Texas!!
Thank you so much Mayra! :)
Hi! I have a question. Is colorescience only available online or can I purchase it in a store?? Thank you!
You should come to Maine in July or August! Acadia National Park is gorgeous and temps are usually in the 70’s and 80’s!
So good to know! Thank you Annette! Will have to keep that in mind :)
Ulta brand has an SPF 50 setting spray for about $9 I am going to try out this summer. Really happy there is a cheaper option out there.
Let me know how it works! :) Would love to hear
Thanks so much for this video! I'm in San Antonio and when June hits omgggg it's so bad lol. I'm excited to look into the spray and the color science tube powder for keeping on me when I'm.out and about this summer.
Thanks so much Cassie! Let me know what you think :)

Thank you so much! My favorite drugstore full coverage foundations are Milani Conceal and Perfect, Loreal Infalliable Pro Matte, Maybelline Fit Me.

I love the Darphin Environmental Lightweight Shield spf50, it’s pricey but think you might really like it.
I just started using the shiseido wetforce lotion in spf 50. The non tinted one in the blue bottle. Goes on light weight and doesn’t move around.
How soft is the brush on the Colorescience product? (I have something similar but the brush is so rough that I never use it.) Thanks! ❤
Barbara Bright I use the color science product on my sensitive skin and I find it very comfortable
this video is so informative, the product is also promising... I wish they have here in Cambodia... what I'm using now is la Roche posay, it's really good it won't move your makeup too,,, well that's the best Cambodia can offer here...
Oh that is good to know and thank you so much for sharing! :)
Excellent recommendations ❤️🤗🙌🏼💋
Thanks Ranalynn :)
Love your personality
Thank you so much :)
I just got the Supergoop setting spray SPF 50. Haven’t used it yet.
Can’t wait to hear what you think :)
Great video Lisa!
Thanks so much Melissa :)
Have you tried the Kevin Aucoin foundation?
I heard it is the Best of the Best. (Sensual skin enhancer .)
HI Michelle! I haven't. Let me know what you think if you do. I hear its good!

Watch Wayne Goss's video on Foundation SPF. He uses the recommended amount. Hilarious!!
I need!!
Thanks Valerie!
Omg the CC powder doesn’t have spf anymore
Foundations etc do not provide adequate UV protection. This is because nobody would ever apply enough to gain the listed SPF.
1:35 yaas I'm Dominican
Prices?🤦🏻♀️
