Brilliant Stephen. So glad you made this video. I am in the situation where practising on a set is impossible. All I have is a drumpad and your lesson is valuable gems for me. Thank you very much
Thank you Stephen, thanks to you my pasion to drums is reborn. Again I am practicing a lot every day, and you gave me a motivation to win with some issues in my privat live, and do everything to play drums, and to make an opportunity to do it. Thank you very much, best regards. :)
Hi Stephen, you have the best video’s for drum teaching online. This hand technique video, learned me so much already. Started with the drums a month ago on my 46th and with your good explanation I enjoy playing the drums so much. Practice every day now relaxed and with so much fun and every day Is getting better thanks to your helpful video’s. I think you are a great teacher for every newbie on the drums all around the world. I live in the Netherlands. Keep up the good work.
Loving all the lessons. Bought Alesis Crimson II back in August. Haven't touched until now. I'm a guitarist who's tired of not having a drummer to write with and wanna play gigs. Gotta get my weak hand strong and work on my kick foot.
Hey.. I m from India.Few day before I have started learning Drum by my own .After watching many videos I m settled with your videos. This is adjectly what I was looking for. The knowledge, Details, and Good Explanation.Thankx for keeping my mind stable now. Because now I don't need the help of any other video. Your content is more than enough.I have confidence that After learning from your videos I will be a good drummer. Thanks a lot. I m trained in Tabla . So it's a new adventure to start a new instrument which is western but I m loving it as I m learning it. Thanks brother.😊😊
This is great, I recently had a group jam and a drummer friend who I've always taken as More technically advanced then I had blisters on his fingers 30 minutes before we finished. I was switching between vocals and sitting in at the kit and I could see him watching my lack of exertion and stress free playing. I was very pleased with myself and felt sad for him. This stuff works ,no if's and no buts
Apparently, Stephen already did a video about a year ago on practicing feet without drumset, including hand-foot coordination: ruclips.net/video/r8OJ3-wHxI4/видео.html
Another great video! Thanks! Now, do you recommend first practicing with one hand at a time for a while to really observe what that hand does and only then start alternating hands?
I bought a pair of junior drum sticks to use in the car when I'm parked for a few minutes. They're smaller so you can use your steering wheel as a practice pad.
You either have balls or you're just plain inconsiderate if you're playing an acoustic kit in an apartment lol. I live in the mountains like 300 yards away from my closest neighbor and I still worry if I'm playing too loud
Well, in the mountains, your own safety may depend on being considerate too: Son bear: Mommy, what’s that loud rhythmic thing? Momma bear: Jim, I think you need to remind wannabe drummer we live here too… Papa bear: Yeah, I’ll go over and “talk” to him. I’ll be gentle this time.

Also bought the drums etc to bring drummers in my studio. The majority of most drummers locally don't have ability to record
Thank you so much for this video I've been waiting for apartment drummer videos

Practice doesn't make perfect. Practice makes permanent.

I live in a condo and use Remo SilentStroke heads.
I've always had trouble getting a fast single or double stroke roll from snare to Tom.. wots yor techniq ?
What kind of practice pad are you using? Just curious.
💯
What kinda practice pad is that?
Aquarian.
FYI: when typing “core pad skill #1a” for your video description, you’re creating a hash tag for your video
Practice saving for an electronic kit so you can actually play.
