The sink-notch thing isn't stupid, it's a happy accident! Fill it with gold, steel, differently stained wood, or marble, or another distinctive material. Make those two notches your trademark! How cool!

I don't even know you and I'm so proud of you! lol. I'm old enough to be your mother so my maternity instinct is kicking in lol. You're a capable and confident young woman and I love watching how you're refurbishing your van all on your own (not a surprise). You're amazing! Thanks for taking us along on your van-life journey. (Eliza is adorable as always)

As a full time van lifer for 4 years now, hearing you say “last trip” at Home Depot is comical. IT NEVER ENDS!!!!

As a retired Plumber I felt that "Ow, I got something in my eye" bloop all the way to the very center of my being. I spent a significant amount of my career lying on my back under sinks and other cabinets.

As a person who is 6’2” I’m always impressed watching you maneuver your 5’10” frame around your van. The tall struggle is real! I was also impressed by your brief rendition of Carmina Burana.

I'm a general contractor in Northern California. I have made approximately 250 million trips (or so it feels) to the hardware store. One thing I have learned in all those trips is that I still definitely forgot something. You're a trooper for staying the course and getting things done.

In the future, when you accidentally make extra cuts in wood just fill it with wood glue and sawdust from that wood. Only you will know it's there and it takes a bunch of stress out of woodworking. If it's a big boo boo, just cut a slice of wood and use that ... fill with sawdust and glue mix if the slice is too small.

A fan will dry the wood quickly. Laxtex paint is water-based but surface should be dry.

You could use some wood glue and saw dust, mix it together and fill those cuts you made by mistake. Not sure how well it would hold up to moisture though. Great job you're doing. So much work and making videos about it too. Thanks for sharing!

Taylor Made Proudly in the hills of Cali. Beautiful job FYI you could cut the round holes out with the jigsaw if you want to use the hole saw without splintering when the pilot bit(the center drill) goes through the other side let the big bit cut the surface then flip the board and carefully slide the pilot into its hole to finish the hole no splinters. 2 1/8 is a hole saw for standard door handle sets

With you and other van-lifers talking about best practice, best methods, best layouts, power, appliances, heating, etc - the state of the art will improve. If I knew what I now know - 5 years ago - I would have saved enough for another Sprinter. The information that you are providing will save thousands of people, millions of dollars collectively - and create the new generation of efficient, sustainable, comfortable RVs. Thank you Maddy. When I get board - I join you on your travels - by watching your videos. I really love it when you realize that your videos are even better when they are not heavily scripted, when you're just being you. Thank you for making my life better. I hope you wind up with the most awesome van in the universe.
Riddle: If you put an RV on the moon - what changes would you make? Answer: Better seals!

Oh lord, Maddie, what a "What now?!" situation. I keep hearing your expressions of chagrin, and thinking, "I might have something in my tools or supplies for that.."
Oh well. Let your mantra be, "This will all be worth it, someday soon." It's pretty cool how Eliza just doesn't give a damn.
Bee-side the point, but I like how you often give special attention to bees going about their pollinating activities. Right now, I'm missing the drawing and watercoloring episodes, but everything in its time, eh?

There's a reason it's called "HOME" Depot: you feel like you live there most of the time. I'll bet you can even help other customers with "how-to's" and finding what they need. Right? It looks good. The notches in your sink top provide a creative edge all your own.
