Sri waheguru ji ki fateh Bhai Sahib ji. Great katha, however I request that you slow down a bit when doing katha.

Only Amardhari Couples should be allowed to have an Anand Karaj, let all the other people who are just consider themselves "Punjabi" get married in a church or somewhere else because to them it is just a cultural thing and has become a Joke in the last 200 years. Dont believe me? Then Do some Research and you will find that before during the "Golden Age" of the Khalsa Panth ONLY Gursikh Couples took part in the Anand Karaj because they understood the full meaning of it, now its lost its meaning because the couple is not Gursikh and they are only taking part in the ceremony because it has become culturally acceptable and because they are uneducated when it comes to sikhi.

+The Turbanator yes that would be better and think the ananad karaj is when non Sikh or non amritdhari becomes a Sikh and amritdhari

I think I understand the point you are making, but just a couple questions. A Sikh according to Reyat is anyone who accepts the Guru Granth Sahib as their only Guru (there is a bit more but essentially this is it), so would you expect them to marry in a church or other place of worship? Why would those religious places of worship marry two people who are not of their faith? If you think that by not being Amritdhari you are not a Sikh then I guess my question is moot. I'm not sure what those people would be then, if not Sikh. Also was there a different marriage ceremony to marry non-Amritdhari followers of Guru in the golden period you speak of? Perhaps something like that would be appropriate in the case of those who are Sikh but not yet Amritdhari. Thanks

+Gurjit Parmar no but I think it would be better that those that choose to be anand karaj should become amritdhari first

Personally, I think everyone should be asked questions by whoever is in charge and whoever is going to read/sing the bani. The thing is anyone can say that they take sggsj as their Guru but many don't mean it. I have family who are Punjabi who think that all vegetarians are crazy, but still claim to be Sikhs.

Ur points r strong, but wat about the punjabis who r not close to gurbani, they can’t just go marry in a church or somewhere. After all they r from that region and that is the right thing that they think they should do
